I remember getting it for xmas and being incredibly disappointed. I thought I was robbed of a xmas present. That is a memory attached to that game I'll never forget. I own a copy or two I have gotten along with other games, fired it up to make sure it worked and put it with all the other lame games I never play. I really see no point in trying to find a bright side to it due to that memory. It is sporting the name of a great arcade classic and it miserably fails in doing it justice. I'm not much of a collector and thus, I would sacrify the cart in a heart beat if it mean getting a better game. I wouldn't miss it at all, but its so lame and massively reproduced that even my dog refuses to pee on it... Rob Kudla did the Pac-Man name justice, get his hack.

I think I had like a 14" Radio Shack color tv.... used it on my Tandy Coco2 & 3 until I bought a 14Tandy monitor for the Coco3. By then I had sold the atari so I could afford the Coco ... I used to have Condor Attack back then, rare now :( Not too sad about it really, I'm in this to play much more than collect anyways. I now use a Samsung 17" LCD with my svideo moded 2600\7800\& 800xl

Colecovision and Intellivion - overrated?
racer raul replied to Thorsten Günther's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I remember playing D&D cloud mountain on the Intellivision... it was a ton of fun. Only thing I never really liked about the system was the controls. Eventually I started collecting an INTV2, and after trying to relive the old times gave up on it & sold it. If I had been able to find a modded control or schematics to mod one I might have given it another shot... The Coleco I also have fond memories of. Eventually I found one and bought a few games for it... however I can't stand the controllers on it either. Despite some really cool titles and ports, the controls ruin it for me. Fortunately I can play most of the titles that require single button sticks, as they plug right in... I have yet to try the Radica SI stick I just got on the Coleco, but if it works I forsee playing this console more after I do the 8bit domain svideo mod so I can play on my LCD... That said... I am definitely more of a 2600/7800/800xl fan and play those the most. -
New homebrew arcade ports for the 7800 you'd like to see?
racer raul replied to Underball's topic in Atari 7800
I'll 2nd the nomination for Mr.Do! & Mr.Do's Castle & Popeye. Donkey Kong 3 Elevator Action Millipede Cloak & Dagger Bagman Venture Would also like to see some 2600 titles redone with better graphics & game play if possible, even if by a diff name. Adventure Kaboom (like on the 5200) Enduro Raiders of the lost ark -
Doing a little grave diggin... I'd definitely buy one of these in any medium for the 800xl

This is the mod that I did on my 7800... http://www.geocities.com/atari7800mod/7800...nstruction.html The system still powers on, and I get video out from the factory output... Any gurus out there that could help me figure out what could have gone wrong, before I set out to rebuild the video board again?

Witness the Atari Age! The golden age of crap.
racer raul replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
Wow... I had no clue. I guess I'll sell my 2600\7800 since it can't be recommended as a fun gaming system. He's got a point... I had to mod both of my system with S-Video so I could play them on my 53" RPTV & LCD's. A good system wouldn't require all that effort to play on modern TV's. Thanks for showing us the light! LOL... what a tool! -
Even after you get it fixed, you'll still have problems... The game is freaking awesome and you'll not want to put it down...

The true identity of the snake is revealed... if you pause to think about it, the snake is only a disguise for someone that has the hots for b*nQ.

Nice hints... I suck at this so I only found one...

I see Crystal Castles names a few times... I'm gonna have to load it on my Krock cart to see what the fuss is all about... I can't say I like any of the 2600 ports better than the arcade versions... However, I never cared for Lady Bug on the arcades much, but the 2600 version released recently is amazing... I play that one often. If you haven't bought it... you are missing out on one of the best arcade ports for the 2600.

You can't be serious man... come on. I don't play my 2600/7800, 800xl as much as I like. But when I have a few minutes I do... My family takes a ton of my time, and so does work... that's life. The toys are there for whenever I have time for them, and not for me to worry about my life not revolving around them... Heck I also have a motorcycle (my fav past time), Colecovision, and NES I wont sell... I play those even less, but I do when I do... So nothing wrong with ya brother... keep the toys & play them when you can.

Tac2 & Slik Stiks... incredibly durable.

what's the best 2600 joystick controller you ever had
racer raul replied to Electric T V's topic in Atari 2600
The original Atari joysticks get the job done well... but speaking from my childhood experiences, they are just not durable. The plastic white piece that makes up the stick breaks with time... Or at least I managed to play them enough that the area the trigers the contacts softened & eventually broke. Since then... its all Slik Stiks & Tac2's for me. I have 2 Slik Stick's & 4 Tac2's. They where made to last. -
Work from home... and have an 800xl & 7800 next to the lap top to sneak a game in when things are slow.
