I am a bit out of practice.. last time I programmed was in 1987..
I am trying to open a parallel printer that is attached to a MPP-1150 parallel printer interface.
Should I treat this interface the same way I would treat the 850? I tried to lprint to the unit and I got a "Non-existent Device"
It is a thermal printer that was assembled .. board , cable, head mech...
So I am not fully convinced the build was successful as my PC has no parallel option and my Atari isn't that friendly either.
ANY guidance on MPP-1150 or just plain IOCB access I am currently refreshing a well fried mind.
Thank you!

I am troubleshooting my drive with the FSM and Sams compufacts.
I found that on the Atari schematic (Jerzey copied it as well) I am supposed to have three 4700uf 25V caps but I only have one 4700 and two 6800uf in those locations.
Sams compufacts show the two 6800uf but there was no technical update for the 1050 that I found that changes them out.
I also saw in a post that the C69 and C70 caps should be a bit bigger than mine. I have tiny little elect can caps... 47uF 16V
everything seems to be ok with voltages..
5.13
12.34
2.74 when its supposed to be 3.2
23.25 when it should be 22.4 at Q4
my resistance on my drive motor is off quite a bit...
36.5 ohms when it should be 11 ohms
177 ohms where it should be 186 ohms.
and I don't have an o-scope so I can only watch it fail in earnest.
any help on those caps would be great!

Hello there,
I am building a 1200Xl from scratch. On the motherboard there are what appear to be decoupling capacitors that are located between pin 8 and pin 16 on the memory chip. C16 - C23
I am wanting to install gold plated machine pin sockets that come with a decoupling capacitor installed in the frame of the socket.
The Atari schematic calls out 0.1uF on the motherboard.
The Capactor in the frame is also 0.1uF
That would give 0.2uF per memory chip if I installed the caps in the board.
Do I just replace the caps on the MB with wire, omit them entirely or leave the caps in the motherboard?
Thank You
Douglas

I had a similar issue where I required a serial port to dial in a thermal printer prior to trying to implement it into my atari. I also recently purchased an aruino uno and mega2560 and I am trying my hand at that arena as well.
This unit cost 6$ at Digikey. I have set it up and Windows sees the board and now its time to see if I can use the printer. I am using Hardware handshaking

Hello there!
I am interested in collecting and displaying and perhaps compiling some atascii art, ANSI art and especially some old school BBS front page art.
I am also interested in technique on shaded or colored effects specific to atari ..as in what video mode to use, what computer was the best to use, etc etc etc transfer of IBM ANSI to Atascii...
Commodores need not respond..
Thank you for your support!

I am very interested in the Item!. I do need to know if this would be compatible with an internally mounted IDE device from atarimax. Is the item still probable or has it been produced and no longer available?

I was thrilled to get a 1200XL in great condition,, and when I plugged in the SVID cable i saw a mono screen. Oh thats right the chroma was not connected.
So I quickly modded my 1200XL with the Clearpic 02 modification. Everything went well as I can solder quite well. NOTE 130 ohm resistors are not a stock value so until i can find some, i put a 10 ohm and 120 ohm in series.
The first thing that I noticed was a much sharper text removing almost all of the ghosting that was present. Another thing that happened was although I now have a color output thru the SVID cable the color representation is poor.
So I hope these images help.. SVID gives sharper text but lacks good color, the composite cable provides really good color but softer text. Also noticable is the background blue screen in the basic editor, smooth and crisp on the composite cable but showing strange vingnetting? on the SVID cable.
Lts just hope these get uploaded correctly.

I was sold on the Arcade games .. all still vector format..they could just sell the 18 arcade games for ten bucks if you asked me..
Games like Joust and several others arent liscenced by Atari so no joy on those non atari arcades.

Probbably really late on this....havent read entire thread.. so sue me..
Available on android platform now I am playing on my kindle fire... yes ipad would be best if you can actually stomach the name or the cost.
Merry Christmas Dammit!

the finger pad controls touchscreen is difficult but i did finally land my lunar module. the fire has limitations but it is really solid for what you get. only one vidoe format works mp4 and you have to have wifi to sync with your purchases, books, movies etc. only 8 gig unit. I like the size in the hand but i will probably go with the ipad when ipad 3 comes out..
Merry Christmas

Just paid 10$ for 99 atari arcade games that I can play on my kindle (android platform) and yes they are represented in vector graphics form as the originals!
BIG SMILES AND GIGGLES HERE!!

I wish to buy this upgrade from B&C but they have misplaced the instructions. Does anyone have a set that they have scanned?
Still working on video connectivity issues.. once resolved I will be doing some serious modding of my units..
Thank you!
