  1. I have repaired two mylar keyboards based on BOB instructions. The trick is to be very slow and don't damage any more than what is already damaged. I have found that the silver based ink is a biotch to work with! there is a product that is carbon based and is easy to apply as well as easy to trim. It dries more solid and can be trimmed with an exacto so much better. In addition if you can work with solder, i was able to place solder nubs upon the upper and lower pads in order to get a good connection. this was done upon the solder pads that the mylar presses against when you reassemble the unit. I will have to find the photos for the task but if you cant solder than it wont matter. I suggest using the carbon based fluid. the product is called Bare Conductive Electric Paint Bareconductive.com Cheers it worked great for my repair Be carefull!!!!! the mylar may tear
  2. an oscilloscope on an eight bit?!? YOU ROCK!

  10. well my first repair went great! 100% first time out! second keyboard required a little more work but it revealed a new product "BARE CONDUCTIVE ELECTRIC PAINT" A few damaged traces due to hasty removal of mylar.. its carbon based and is easier to use, not runny and dries quickly so my second keyboard ROCKS as well! two fully repaired keyboards thanks to BOB1200XL Third one will be the charm!

  12. ok well my "laptop" project will most likely be based on the 1200xl MB. I am building a mb by scratch and i plan on removing the cart and power supply areas to attain enough room for a catholic church and mexican bordello.. yes the will fit! I have to kill two 1200xl cases in order to build my 13.3" monitor assy and i apoligize in advance to those who lost an ebay auction.. i will go thru my photos to explain in time i was totally stoked to get a perfectly working 600xl with a PCB keyboard.. this thing will never break! i want the low prowfile keyboard.. this will obviously be a hybrid Douglas

Douglas

  20. not so long time... turns out i had one unit that developed really bad video, so i moved the upgrade over to another unit.. worked good for about three boots black screen i am running out of 600xl machines! this mod cant be that devestating as everyone seems to be able to do it. i cant tell if its the delay line or the memory chips?! i have two good 16k units and i am not wanting to kill another unit to determine why one of the upgraded units failed. whats causing theses black screens after mods?
  21. Jeezzz one 64k upgrade and my video tears and shifts badly I move the upgrade to another 600xl and all is good... then after three reboots, another black screen condition.

  24. i am interested in creating a game that would be similar to a door game. the idea is a character that has a split personality must find a solution or xxx... two players would each take turns sending him down their desired paths. in other words, your actions make the character go one way.. his actions make the character go the other way i was thinking that this could be accomplished via null modem btween two players in the same room any thought would be well appreciated Douglas
