  1. The picture is from an auction. Rather curious that someone would bundle an FB2 with Gemini controllers.
  2. Can anyone ID the controllers in this picture? Gemini perhaps?
  3. Maybe Ben Heck can incorporate a Harmony cartridge into his next portable...
  4. I don't follow the homebrew scene as closely as some so I just recently discovered AStar. This game is great. It is the kind of game that is perfectly suited to the 2600. And the Pac and fruit sprites and the game play make it at once familiar while being totally original.
  5. Yeah, we did have a high score thread, wonder what happened to it... I'd vote for a real Odyseey2 HSC. But some rules- submitting 10-0 for Alien Invaders Plus does not count!
  6. Can Midnight Magic be played with paddles? The box and manual state that it is a joystick game. But also on the back of the box it says "Use controller buttons as flippers" and the picture on the front shows the player holding stylized paddles. So I tried it. The paddle buttons do in fact operate the flippers but there doen't seem to be any way to launch the ball and start the game.
  7. The patch worked perfectly. Thank you. I will keep it in case I come across any other 6k files.
  8. I dug into the archives and found this, which should be relevant to this thread. This is the documentation that came with the Worship the Woodgrain CD set. Notice the game lists. The games marked with an asterisk will not play on a stock Supercharger.
  9. I don't know if the Harmony developers are interested in tracking down every single uncooperative homebrew but Cubis isn't working for me (the same file works in emulation and on a Supercharger).
  10. Perhaps you'll like these better? Now how does someone which such progressive literary tastes as Asimov, Bradbury and Clarke also own a confederate battle flag???
  11. Here's a few prototypes/homebrews/hacks that are in my regular Supercharger rotation: Bloody Human Freeway Cubis Jammed PacMan 4k Seawolf Space Invaders Arcade Swoops Vault Assault No doubt there are many others that work too.
  12. Very nice, thanks. Since getting the Harmony cart I've decided to put away all my carts. But without a working copy of Meteoroid I couldn't retire the Supercharger just yet.
  13. Meteoroid This is the Asteroids clone prototype from Starpath before it got lawyer-proofed and released as Suicide Mission (which works fine btw). The bin file is available on the Stella Gets a New Brain CD (METEROID.BIN). It loads fine on Harmony but crashes once you hit Reset to start a game. The same file works fine in emulation and on the Supercharger.
  14. You gotta remember though, this was made in Hong Kong 30 years ago. That only proves that "Tapes" is valid Engrish.
  15. I'm not sure linking several together would work because they have no external source of power. The device draws power from the Atari's cartridge slot. More than one would probably draw too much. Picking just six games to plug in was tough for me too. Then I decided it would work well if you chose a theme. Like plug in six favorite shooters, or six arcade classics, or the Realsports games. My first choice was to plug in all the Pac Man games: Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Jr. Pac Man, Pac Man Arcade, Jawbreaker. Unfortunately the homebrew Pac Man Arcade did not work in the Game Brain. Dunno why.
  16. Lookie what I found today:
  17. Thanks for the explanation. I'm just surprised it's been a decade before anyone noticed! I can't be the first one that tried it on a Supercharger.
  18. Hmmm. Maybe wplaybin isn't XP compatible. I never tried it on XP. I use it on a Windows 95 laptop (a Toshiba Libretto, the original netbook, about a decade ahead of its time). Thanks for the schells link.
  19. Never seen one of these before: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 230418689324
  20. Question about Rob Kudla's homebrew/hack Space Inavders Arcade. In this game the aliens are white and your gun and shields are green, just like the arcade version. But when played on a Supercharger the aliens are red and your gun and shields are light blue. The colors are correct in emulation and on a Harmony Cart. Anyone else notice this? Does anyone know what's going on? Just curious.
  21. All 2k games work and just over half of the 4k games seem to work. Here's my latest list of un-hacked games that seem to work on an unmodded Supercharger. It is not scientific, just a list of games that I've tried over the years that didn't crash. Many of the remaining 4k games have been hacked by Nukey Shay to work. See the above link. If you don't see a game that you want to play, try loading it anyway. Some games crash right away. Others crash later in the game. But you can't break anything by trying. Many folks like to use a CD player or MP3 player to load the games but I keep an old laptop connected to my Supercharger and use a program called wplaybin (http://members.cox.net/rcolbert/wplaybin.htm). It converts the bin files to audio on the fly. No need to convert files in advance or to hit the skip button on your player dozens of times. Just double click the bin file name on the laptop and the game loads. Supercharger Games.txt
  22. Imagic games that haven't been mentioned yet; I really like Laser Gates. Subterranea might interest you as well.
