  1. Wow. The hours I would stare at those magical pages. Dog earred, highlighted, circled, tattered and torn, those WishBooks were the survival tomes that that got me thru the holidays till Christmas morning! Not only the gaming section, but the Star Wars pages didn't stand a chance either. Yes, if there are more or other years availble, please post!
  2. Christmas 1978 dates my first Atari console. In the mid 80's I went the Commodore route vs. more Atari or NES games and console purchases. Then Bought a SNES when that came out. Got a PlayStation October 95. Had that until the PS2 came around. That was my last newer console/system purchase (2001). I love playing my older gaming counterparts. And, I enjoy the new stuff as well. I guess having played video games for so long, it doesn't matter if it's new or from the past. Although, I find myself buying new titles for the "realism" of the game, rather than the gameplay format. I buy the racing simulation games, and only have a handfull of other games. The love the new systems for they're abillity to reproduce realistic graphics as well as game feel. Simulations games are great. Designers only have to work on the real aspects, giving them a chance to really making feel like your actually driving something. There is no need for story development, plot outlines, none of that. Since my bike is currently stored for winter, Tourist Trophy and MotoGP 4 fill the void of tearing up the pavement. If I concidered buying a new system...until I see what the PS3 has for bike games, MotoGP 2006 on Xbox 360 looks absolutely stunning! High drool factor!
  3. I never had an Inty as a kid. I played my cousin's though, and loved Tron Deadly Discs! Today, I own an Inty and a Inty II with a bout 30 games...of course Tron Deadly Discs is among them! I just found found the voice adapter at a thift shop yesterday. Now I can play B-17 and Space Spartan Properly.
  4. I got my first Atari for Christmas in '78. There are pics of that day around here in one of the "Christmas" threads. I also got Basketball to go with it. For a real blast from the past, I just picked the Complete Animated Series of Dungeons & Dragons DVD set. I loved that cartoon! After watching some episodes, I fired up the 2600 to play some Adventure. Sigh....yep, goodtimes.
  5. I noticed the C-64 power supply in the drawer. Are the rest of it's contents close by? Good o'l C-64!
  6. NICE! I still have my electronic D&D game complete with box. Man, I love that game.
  7. LOL! Yeah! My TV/Movie/Hangout room has been dubbed the "ManRoom". I have a seperate TV and my 6 switcher set up in the corner. I don't know if the bigger collections equate to better relationships, but my gilrfriends loves Atari. My collection is about 200 titles. I think she loves the fact that she has access to options on what to play rather than choose from a smaller collection of say, 15-20 carts. If I had a smaller collection, she would probably encourage me get more games to play. A true gammer at heart, she kicks ass!
  8. Indeed! Infact, my girlfriend loves playing. Lately her fav's are Stampede, Warlords (we play that with her sister), Super Breakout. I usually loose when we play, but I remain household champ at Kaboom!
  9. Here are my pics I posted awhile back. christmas pic link
  10. @ Star Wars...Amen to that! I'd also add Blade Runner to the mix my fav's to watch. And yeah, Big Trouble kicks! One day dedicate to movies and Atari, that sounds like time well spent. I'm in!
  11. @ Star Wars...Amen to that! I'd also add Blade Runner to the mix my fav's to watch. And yeah, Big Trouble kicks! As far as games, Space Shuttle, Star Master, Adventure, and good 'ol Kaboom! One day dedicate to movies and Atari, that sounds like time well spent. I'm in!
  12. I do not have one of these controllers, so we'll need demensions. I usually have a controller of whatever project I'm working on. It helps when you print out a prototype for fitment. Measurement corrections are easily made.
  13. Sure! Is this something we will have to be careful no to step on any copywrite toes, being that Grover is probably a licensed character? I guess since this is purely for our useage and not for pubilcation in the since of making money, we should be ok. I can work on some concepts, upload or pm them, and we can go from there. This is bad, but what controller is used for this?
  14. Is this (game/cart) available? It says prototype on the list here. I love making overlays, and I would be down for coming up with something. Does an actual overlay exist? Or is this purely a creative venture?
  15. Maybe I'll play it on emulator to see if it's anything to my liking. 95% of my is collection is buying $1 to $2 thrift/wild finds. So $18 for a loose cart is a little out of the norm for me. I am a Bond fan, but I don't think I'm that big of a fan.
  16. Man. I love that feeling. I walked out of a small town CB/electronic repair shop once with a like new Inty & 17 boxed games for 20 bucks. I had a smile for like 4 solid hours. In a couple weeks, I'm going back. They have a Sears 6 switcher, box of games, C-64 with drives and 1741 monitors for me as well. (seperate purchase, not included with the $20 price for the Inty) Nice score BTW!
  17. I found a loose 007 cart in good condition at a flea market. Selling it for $18 USD, plus tax. From a gameplay stand point, is it worth it? Even for collecting?
  18. Yeah, just put it away for awhile. It'll come back. Heck, I barely pick up and play any of my consoles anymore. New or old school. Sometimes, I like to just browse through the catalogs or read thru the piles of instruction booklets I have. Even though I don't always play, I still enjoy looking at my collection. Once in a while after reading those things, it'll spark an interest to play something. Just give it some distance for now, and like NE146 said, after some time you'll rediscover your passion as you have before.
  19. Even after cleaning my carts, my 2 Activision games Dragster and Bridge, still fail to work half the time. I just keep inserting and powering up until something shows up. Your not alone with "iffy" carts my friend.
  20. last year I paid $10 (US) for mine, loose. Best stick on the planet imo.

    2600 Mod?

Yeah, thats why I had this on my website. I made it 300 dpi for printing purposes. I didn't intend it being emailable. I also have a bunch of overlays reproduced on the site too. (Space Shuttle 4 switch and Jr versions, Star Trek, Star Raiders etc.) I'll get the site back up soon.

    2600 Mod?

from a previous post of mine.... While building Ben's A/V mod, I took a bunch of pictures. Being a complete electronic idiot, I decided to write down what I did, add photos, and compile a companion guide. This is for someone with no/hardly any experience in electronics, and have it all laid out in front of them. Visuals help me more than words alot of times. Anyway, I spoofed the "for Dummies" books. I use to have the PDF available on my website...but it is currently down. I could try and email the PDF to you, but it's kinda big for email travels (14mb) Let me know....
  23. I bought a lot from a guy (console with games and controllers) privately, not thru ebay. The contents were pretty disgusting. The whole boxed smelled of cigarettes and cat pee. I bought it anyway and cleaned everything up. The worst cart, bowling, had (what I think was) cat litter all over it.
