  1. and the number of functional 360's will quickly decline in a year or two after that.

Are you saying we're not going to be having a "360Age" site 30 years down the road dedicated to enthusiasts who still play their aged 360 consoles? :(

scary aint it! (because that statement seems completely possible!)

Or worse, a 360Age site dedicated to enthusiasts who want/wish they could play their aged 360 consoles.

My ever building 360 game library all for not. joy.

Meanwhile, my 60 year old Atari console will still fire up hahaaahahaaa!

  2. The Cars were on the turn table - Skiing, Adventure, Football and Kaboom were the games of the day..

I would place my hot wheels or matchbox Cars on the turntable. Hold em, turn it on, and let the endless road roll beneath them!

Yea, cloudy rainy days always reminds me of spending the day inside to play Atari. Good stuff!

  3. I didn't find Bioshock to be scary at all...just creepy, which I enjoyed much more.

Yup....same here. All the ambient noises and everything is what made Rapture so creepy.

I loved just walking around and all the sudden hearing a Big Daddy plodding closer. I'd run and hide somewhere with a smile on my face and wait for him to clomp by.

Maybe that's my problem then when playing it and getting bored. As usual, I played with the sound more or less muted and with Jimi Hendrix tunes blasting from my stereo... :ponder:

I'm on your page NE1. Not with Bioshock (dont have it) but sometimes I will jam some tunes will playing games. Not just 360 either.

Yeah, I'm probably that odd ball 1% whose played RockBand simply as a button-matching game while jamming tunes thru the receiver :ponder:

  4. Thx for the link. Kawasaki isn't on there, but GP rider is manual

    cool.

Is that just a scan of the cover? Is there no printed material (instruction) there?

I like GP rider. It's "arcade" like.

Kawi Superbike feels more simulation like. Upgrades and all that. It's fun too, but I'm having to play a little more "blindy" as to what I'm doing with no instructions. GP Rider is pretty much hit the gas and stay in front!

Thanks for the help, of what little there is out there. If anyone else has leads, please keep 'em coming :)

I have box and instructions for GG Road Rash if someone needs a scan of that.

  5. I got some new titles for my Game Gear...but they are loose.

I was poking around trying to find sites that had instructions...no luck.

    Ideas where to look?

the games, GP Rider and Kawasaki Superbike Challenge.

I'm sure they are easy enough to figure out how to play, but it couldn't hurt to read thru the manual just once.

  6. In that case, all we need is the specs on the power supply(which I can go look at)... hack it in, and you can pick up a variable(via switch) PS from WalMart. Just checked... output 9v 1 amp.

I can get a photo, if it's needed.

Then just get a barrel plug at Radio Shack to splice on? part number?

I'd like to see photos of what needs to be done. What PS from walmart would I look for? Maybe I can make one of these locally, rather than buying one online. (i was just going to order one from best electronic)

  7. I have RB 1. Really dig it.

I've heard complaints about the GHWT drum kits because the foot pedal is not fixed to the kit, and as a result, when stomping on it it slides around on you. Most dont care for the idea of shoving a weight or stack of books behind it to hold in place as ideal.

I'm torn between the two though. My favorite band Tool has 3 tracks on GHWT. Its a total unheard of thing for Tool, as they never release the rights to their music for anybody. Even the stage art direction is taking from artist Alex Grey (Tool uses his artwork as inspiration for album covers and the stage as well)

  8. Guess this is why it's called "PAIN" :D

Question, do you have to have internet to own a PS3 then? That problem listed here about not being able to play a purchased game until after another game was downloaded worries me.

I do not have internet, and am looking into getting a PS3.

(I download the update and burn a disc at work right now for my 360)

I know right now, when I'm going over to my buddies house, I give him a call and let him know I'm coming over....that way by the time i get there the "updates" should be done. They do take awhile.

I guess its a trade off for not paying like XBL.

  9. I got a used Xbox 360 less than a month ago and now I'm getting the 3 red lights ... all because of Forza 2, which I bought just a few days ago. From the reports online it seems to be a common complaint with Forza killing Xboxes.

    Man I hope not!!

I love Forza2. My RRoD came when I got RockBand last year for 'mas. Unpacked it, played 1 song..started one anyway... and RRoD'd it. After I got the 360 back from MS, have not had a problem since.

edit: oh, and I still play Forza2 all the time to this day.

  10. BTW do they sell rock band 1 and 2 disc only? and will it work with the 360 GH guitar?

    -rick

Yeah, In fact, when the time comes I'm just going to buy the RB2 game disc, and the Sunburst Fender (the black and white one comes in the special edition kits).

But I cant answers about GH guitars working with RB....sorry.

Weird, my buddy has RB2 for the PS3, and I found it easier to play (guitar...on hard settings) than RB. Who knows though, because by the time we are ready to play (usually 3 of us), it's been about 4-5 beers later. :ponder:

  11. I finally found the stupid passage to the switch. Why do games makers think it's fun to make everything so dark that it's virtually impossible to find something unless you happen to stumble across it while looking in the perfect direction? This has happened to me so many times in various games. Does anyone actually enjoy doing this?

Well onward now truing to save humanity....

Dont forget about your light. In dark areas switch on your light. Well, maybe in Halo1 you dont have one, but I used it in Halo2. (I think it's the Left shoulder button)

  12. I dont know about quitting all together, but I'm more about starting a game playing for awhile, and move on to something else. It might be another system all together. The compelling factor of " I must finish this game!!!" never really grabs me. Lol, maybe I'm just lazy!

Like with Rock band. I have my 7 or 8 songs I really like to play. I dont really care if I finish the whole game.

As far as beating a game on the 360...I guess it's the games I have. Most have multi player. Which is what I like. I like to play as a group more than I do solo. So beating a game never really comes up. I have more racing games than other genres. And racing is, well, racing. I guess finishing a season or a collection circuits would be finishing a game...but I just like to throw in the game, hit the throttle, and goooooo!

If I have to pick thou, I guess yes...I am a game quitter.

Note: Games I have finished with friends...Lost Planet, Call of Duty 4, Conan. We take turns doing a mission, then pass the controller. Or, if you failed a mission, pass the controller.

  13. Welcome to Atariage, Jake. I subscribed to your channel quite a long time ago. In fact the first ever vid of yours that I saw was the 2600 one.

Hahahahaa. I have not subscribed, but I did watch your vids awhile ago. When I read this, and clicked the link, I said " hey, it's that guy, cool!"

    Welcome aboard!

  14. I'm new to the 7800 as well. This thread was great for getting tips. I just got the console and some games. But it came with no power supply or RF cord.

So, I'm in the hunt for those items. I guess ebay?

Have no idea if the system works yet....cant wait.

I plan on ordering some of the NES-style controllers from Best Electronics very soon.

I just modified one of my NES controllers. You can find a how to around. I think, it may even be listed on this site....cant remember.

    Super easy to do.
