  1. Sure that will work. If you want to play her HD games with your profile and don't have a 360 memory card, you would have to recover your gamertag while her HD was inserted. That way both your profiles would be on her HD, after she left, you would have to recover it again on you own HD. You cant have the same profile on two different storage units. The 360 memory card makes it easy to transfer you gamertag to multiple 360's since you can just keep the tag on the memory card and swap it around whenever.

Cool. Just wanted to check before I did it and something bad would happen. Neither of use internet, so thats not an issue. Actually she is one who wanted to know. Her 360 died from the RRoD, and was close to finishing N3. So she wanted to bring her HD and game over to play and try to finish it. The repairs cant some soon enough, so she wants to use mine.

So, just to be clear, if she plugs in her HD on my 360...plays...leaves...removes her HD and I plug mine back in, all my stuff will still be good and not all screwed up? (gamer profile, info, stats and all that)

  2. I have a 360. My sister in-law has a 360. But instead of bringing her console, gear and what not to my place, could she just unplug her HD, bring her game, and plug her HD into my 360. Load her game and her profile and saved info would appear?

Kind of like like what you can do with a PS2 memory card. just curious....

  3. Thought I'd move the discussion off of this thread and over to a new one all things considering.

For those who don't know (or have been living under a rock), Atari Inc. was warned on December 21st that for the 30 days previous its market value had been below 15 million (which is a prerequisite for staying listed on Nasdaq). They were given until March 20th to get it back up in value (somewhere in the $1.82 -2.20 price range) for at least 10 consecutive business days.

Hahaaaha, thats awesome! I live under a rock! :D

  4. Do you remember that weird game where you take little pink plastic pigs and throw them, then score based on how they land? For some reason I think I saw a homebrew at one of the conventions with that game. I could also be hallucinating.

    C

dont know about the homebrew, but the weird game was called Pass The Pigs, for those who want to know.

  5. I have two Space Shuttle games. One with blue label, the other with picture on the label. Each game has the overlays, instructions, and the boxes. The last thing I need to make it complete would be an Activision catalog. If one was originally packed with the game, does anyone know which one it would be? I have a handful of Activison catalogs, and could be one of them. I just don't know which was packed in the game. Anyone have their box and all original contents to help?

  6. I think I'm going to return my replacement i just got. This 2nd console isnt as nice as the one I bought. The power button on the console doesn't push in to power it up. You have to push hard on the edge (outer part of the circle) for the green light to come on and start the power up. Secondly, the right USB input (if the console is upright) is janky. When you plug into it, the connection is really loose. There is severe slack, or side to side movement when you plug something in it. The left one is fine, nice and snug.

I know these are minimal things, and it does work fine. But I bought a brand new unit, and this feels like..." here you go Milkman, heres a nice hardly new refurb, now kindly go F yourself thanks very much :)"

I want MY 360 repaired and sent back to me, not this one.

  7. Bought my 360 Jan '07.

Got Rock Band for Christmas this year (well Christmas 2007), played it twice and got the RRoD. My replacement 360 arrived in mid January. Other than firing up the replacement to make sure it worked, I have not played it since it died. I don't know. Just kinda lost interest I guess....

My PS2 (good 'ol original that was packed with GT3, not a slim) has logged alot hours of play lately though! I bought a new PS2 game last month, SBK 2007 (World Superbike racing) for $17.99. $17.99!!! for a new PS2 title! Thats more like it! I love you PS2 :) hahahaaaaahaha

  8. i've been thinking of getting an intellivision for my next console. what's ECS? how is intellivision II different?

The ECS is the computer add-on for the system... it's more of a keyboard with some additional RAM than anything else. They did come out with a true computer add-on, but it is very rare to come by.

The Intellivision II is a smaller form factor with removable controllers (although the controllers are much rougher on the hands than even the original ones are). If you're looking for a system , you're better off with the original Intellivision.

    +1

And, some of the Coleco titles are known to not work on the Inty II. I think Donkey Kong is one of them.

  9. I have never noticed this before, but, it looks like your sixer has a grommet where the RF cord comes out. Do all sixer have that? Can't remember if mine have that. (Typing this from work, cant check on mine at the moment)

Nice score BTW! oooo, sweet Atari dust cover too!!!!

  10. I like 3m spray adhesive. It is normally used for mounting posters and art to matte board. Any artsy-crafty store will have it. It works great for 8-track labels too, and does not bubble or get crusty. If you are careful it will never come off and be completely undetectable.

    +1

I love that stuff! Nice even, thin layer of adhesive. Great for making adjustments when positioning.

  11. ...sigh.

this figures. I know many have dealt with this before. And I have even read about the blinking red circle of death. But still! I'm angry and frustrated anyway. It's 2007, isn't the technology there? Shouldn't we be passed faulty, flimsy, marginal products? I don't understand why this issue (360's going dead) still persists. Not by you folks here on the forums, but the fact that I'm being told... it's common, you should send it in...really irritates me. Dead 360s should be a rare instance, not common.

    Anyway, thanks for the input.

I know. Anger and frustration about this very issue has already been expressed by many, so I guess, end rant. I hope the exchange will be easy and not add fuel to the fire.

  12. Whew...

I fired it up this morning and it came back to life, how long have i GOT?!?!?!!!

Last night, tried RockBand again. Froze right before I could play a gig. Powered down (had to, locked up). Waited, fired it up again and decided to put some tattoos on....froze up. Third time, froze during loading page, 4th time... I got 3 red flashing lights.

After nearly loosing my voice some screaming vulgarities, I powered it off for the night. I thought it was dead.

Before I call Microsoft, I hit the power button this morning, got the green light, and ejected the Rockband disc. Tonight I want to put in other games to see if I get the same results.

I have not had any game of mine freeze or lock-up the system before, so weird!

Am I alone so far on RockBand doing this? (or is my console going bad, and it just so happened when I got RockBand)

  13. If your into the true simulating racing experience, get this wheel! You will not be disappointed. Feedback is great, wheel resistance is true. For games like Forza...it is the Shiz-night!

If Burnout or other arcade like racing games are your liking, I could see this wheel not living up to your demands. A controller would still be your best bet. To me, the wireless wheel is best suited for the racing sim games.

  14. Oh, thats great to hear.....

I got fired my RockBand up last night (12/25). I just solo played a couple a songs with the guitar before I stopped. The game kept freezing! Frustrated, I stopped and put it away for the night.

    Hope my drums last then!

On another note, my sister in-law got the new party animals Pinata game. She said her game kept freezing too.

    Grrrr. Whats the deal!!!!?!!!!

  15. I wonder if you can even get equipment to create that same, uhm, fuzzy/low resolution/whatever look and sound that I associate with the mid to late 70's.

Adobe After Effects has plug-ins that you could pull that off with I'm sure. If not, you could tweak the video enough to get a similar effect. Like photoshop, you can layer in effects on your footage.

cosmosis...yes, the over-excited folks are a must! HAHA!

  16. I know this going off "Buy HD-DVD add on opinions".....

But after reading the debate of waiting for the format wars to end, got me thinking. I wonder if neither will "win". What got me thinking that, is the new streaming video switchers that are out now. Something like ESPN or CNN or whatever, can shoot footage with multiple cameras, and then cut between cameras from directors cue. This is LIVE, on a streaming internet feed! I know this has nothing to do with watching movies, but it leads me to believe that eventually, all media formats will be watched from the computer. With Apple TV, all the free shows you can watch from the affiliates websites...who knows, this all just got me thinking. Down-loadable movies, TV shows, programming, everything...one media source, one screen for everything.

  17. Rock band is definitly awesome. I am about 30 + songs into on expert and the guitar work is getting much more challenging. While not up to the hardest songs of guitar Hero I don't believe it should be this is Rock Band...not Guitar Hero 4. Everyone can't be going balls out soloing and riffing at the same time. Sometimes you have to play it nice and easy and let the drummer have his turn or the singer do his thing. I think it works great and its a total blast to play with a group of friends and the online multiplayer seems to work decently. People complaning about the instruments are asking to much or nit picking for the $170 price tag. Subtract the cost of a game $50-$60 and you are getting 3 quality controllers and a USB hub for around $100-$120. Basically I beleive the price vs. quality is spot on. Affordable, playable, and enjoyable. I'll take the Strat over the orginal Guitar Hero controllers for PS2 anyday now that I have played with it for a little while.

I seen the demo of making your band members, but what about making a band name? Can you make your own name up? And can you make your logo thing? (if there is such a thing)
