  1. This is exactly what me and my friends have been waiting for. 4 player action! We dont play online. Tuesday night (release day) we got together and played split screen on my friend's 60' tv from 9pm to about 3am. We laughed, yelled, slugged /damned each other...man, what a hoot! And all the options of game variants to play! It looks like there is even a zombie variant in there too.

EDIT: dammit, I meant to put this in the Halo3 discussion thread!...so I will :)

  3. December (if I wait that long) will mark 1 year since I last fired up the 'ol 2600. Bought a Xbox 360 and I can't stop playing it.

Anyway, last title that kept me occupied for hours was Circus Atari. It's a hoot! Oh, that and Crossbow...but that was because I bought it for myself as a 'mas gift. Never played it before that.

    +1 on Tunnel Runner!

  4. I'm not a fan of these types of games, because I just don't get into the turn based combat style. But I tried the demo, and WOW is right. This game's look is amazing. It is a demo, but I never really figured out the musical playing portion of it. I kept getting a F when I tried playing with that kid in town. Cool game though, I might pick this one up.

  5. I had a bad power connector thingy (that hole where the power adapter plugs into the back of the 2600) go bad. There is a spring that pushes a tab "up" to connect with the power fitting when you plug it in. I took it apart, pulled and stretched the spring a bit, put it back together. It pushed the tab up further allowing to make contact with the plug when you push it in the console. Fired right up.

Radio Shack has these little guys new in their parts bin too.

Instead of the switch box, use that gold RF/Coaxial adapter that AA has for sale here, much easier. You can find that at R.S. as well.

  6. Question about special moves...

On SW2 Empire, I had my musou bars full up (at least 2 bars full anyway), I hit the B button, and this small animation thing popped up before my character performed his special atttack. I tried it again later, but it didn't do. Then, latter in another battle it happened again.

What is that? How do I get it to do this all the time?...or can you?

It sounds like either the animation for a double musou which occurs when another general is nearby, or your rage musou which occurs when you're low on life.

Yep, I think thats it. I noticed it again when I was next to another general. Freaked me out the first couple times it happened.

  8. Yeah, I dont know. My wheel seems straight to me. I have not used the wheel racing on a dirt track. So far I've only been using it for Forza and PGR3.

As far as sensitive goes, to me anyway, it reacts like a simulation wheel, not an arcade wheel. That being said, minimal input of left or right moves the car alot. Just like in real driving. When a car is going 170+ mph, any corrections you need to make on the track are going to be minute. You certainly would not jamb the wheel hard left or right. This wheel really forces (at least me anyway) to drive like the real thing. I mean, I don't just blast down the straight away, slam the brakes at the turn and expect to make it. When a corner comes up, there are numbers posted on signs, and they countdown as you get closer to the corner. These are your braking markers. Use those to help gauge the speed you need to enter a corner, take it, then get back on the throttle.

So, as far as a universal steering device...hmmm, maybe it's not for that. It probably is more tuned for the simulated driving games. But then again, I love them, so it's great for me.

One game I think this wheel would not be good for, is Burnout 3.

  9. I never thought I'd own a MS product. I was that Sony only guy.

I bought a 360, and I love it. I'm pleased with the purchase of all the titles I own so far. Even the Burger King exclusives are kinda fun. I'm into the racing stuff, and the racing wheel for the 360 kicks butt!

So whats this 90nv vs. 65nv all about? Anything I should worry about or need to consider?

  10. It was on sale for $99. So I picked one up. I love it. Took a bit to get used to. But after 2-3 races on Forza (don't have Forza 2 yet) everything clicked, and it really delivers a truley fun driving experience. I'd give this wheel a thumbs up. I'm glad the price was right and I got one.

  11. ( this thread is going to be interesting to read like 3-4 years from now :) )

I'm probably like in the 1% here on this. But when I switched from buying VHS movies to DVDs in 2000, it was easy. I mean, I bought a DVD player, a couple of DVDs, and bang! I was on my way to being a DVD format consumer. That was it. There was nothing else to consider.

Today? If you don't do the research, (like I said, I'm probably in the 1% here) you kinda get lost on what to do. 720p, 1080i, plasma, LCD, DLP, component, HDMI...geezuz! Maybe I missed the reasons, but why the hell are there like 20 variations (read my sarcasm on that figure) when considering HD? I wonder if the HD format was a little more standard (and this is just me) a little less confusing on what your getting into, maybe these new formats would be more welcomed.

And since I have not really researched HD tvs and the new DVD formats, maybe there is a simple or standard setup. Eh, I 'll figure it out one of these days.

  12. Well done!

Where did you find it? In the wild?

Kinda of the wild. Loose in Atari bin at a local game shop for $.94

Dude, the next time you go out shopping let me know and i will go along! Never find stuff like this in the wild! Your one lucky bastard! Those sega games and now this. Congratulations!

haahaahha. I don't know what it is. I wasn't really even in the mood to go hunting. I was driving by the store and decided..well, I better stop, just to have a look. Here I go again to go stare a table with a bunch of commons on it. Yeah, I did a double take when I saw the end label.

  13. One day when I was going through a mountain of papers from my family home when preparing to move, I found the original sales receipt from when my parents bought my sister and I the VCS adaptor for ColecoVision for Christmas, and for Asteroids and Pac-Man, the two carts that we got with it.

They were bought December 16, 1982; the adapter cost 129.95 Canadian, Pac-Man cost 39.88 CDN and Asteroids cost 44.88 CDN. My parents were good to us that year.

Easily the most treasured part of my collection, since both my parents are now deceased.

    Way cool.

Somewhere on here I posted a christmas pic of myself sitting next to my dad Christmas day. He is unpacking the new Atari. If I found the reciept for that purchase...that would be quite a magical find!

  14. Congrats on the find. I think there is a lot of evidence that Glib maybe the worst game of all time. Simply do to the fact that every Glib I see is in either mint or near mint condition.

Probably. I tried to play it when I got. I had no idea what was going on. Looked at the instructions here, so I'll have to give it another go.

It cleaned up nicely. I think I had about 7-8 qtips worth of dark brown gunk on the inside (slot), and a damp cloth to clean the cart itself. The other games I picked up also suffered the same cleaning.

  15. Oh, here is what I picked up. All with instructions, and found another receipt from '81.

Very cool finds! I occasionally find receipts in with my Atari finds as well, and I save all of them.

Check inside that Boxing cart for the elusive foam...1980 is about the right time when Boxing was first released, so chances are good that the foam is intact.

    poop, i got nothing.
