  1. ok, I must be on something then. I went home for lunch to try it out. Black screen, nothing but missles and the occational helicopter just like described here. Then I put in Commando Raid just to see. When I played this on Saturday, (I just played it one time to see if the cart worked) it had the same play as Commando Raid, but not a hole in the ground that the canon sat in, and not a rainbow background. It was solid light blue. Sorry everyone, I MUST have put Commando Raid in at some point then. Because I turned it on and off like 20 times maybe thinking it had an alternate game, but I couldn't get the results to happen as I described.
  2. No, it doesn't look like that. Hmm, weird. I'll have to play it some more, and try out the 2 player also. The canon and buildings on each side look exactly like the screen shots listed here.
  3. I got this over the weekend. I just went and looked at the manual here for additional info and found something interesting. The manual seems to describe that missles are the focus of the game. Even scoring is all about shooting down the missles. But when I played (1 player), missles are an after thought. There were so many paratroppers to deal with, and missles were a ratio of like 1 to every 10 paratroppers falling from planes. Even the screen shots listed here have a black background (but maybe thats 2 player mode which I have not tried yet.) The background when I played was light blue. Lots of planes with paratroopers, and helicopters, very little missles. I have not played this for very long, so maybe all that changes over the course of gameplay. Anyway, just curious as to what other who have played experienced.
  4. If I can't decide ("doing the stare" at my bookshelf looking for something to play), I'll have my girlfriend pick a couple out. Works everytime for me.
  5. Mine is a noisy buggar as well. It sits verticle. You can hear it rev all the time.
  6. Yeah, that is the one. Although the link in the thread no longer goes to the list....poop!
  7. Didn't someone start an archieve around here at one point? It was getting to be a pretty good list of 3rd party joysticks that were made for the 2600. If I remember it was being updated regularly. I have not seen it (or looked for it I guess) in a while. If someone remembers it, could you bump that thread or provide a link.
  8. The gaming shop tried that. There was a blemish on the CD from the factory. The guy at the store apologized, and couldn't even fathom how it was put on the shelf in the first place. I played a bit last night. I've only just started. I'm just beyond the prison cell, down in the hallways. I spent alot of time just playing with the character creation options. I think this is going to be fun stuff!
  9. FRAG!! That used copy I bought had a blemish on the disc. The 360 wouldn't read it. So I have not played yet. I took it back today for an exchange. They did not have another one, so I went with a new copy. Dammit, this sucks! I wanted to play this AND have the CE version.
  10. Well I did it. Over the lunch hour I went and picked up the CE version. I guess this is the part where I tell everyone I'll see them a few days later. I'll be lost in another land, oblivious (ha ha) to my surroundings.
  11. I have Lethal Enforcer for the Genesis. It came with that blue plastic .357 Magnum (I think thats what it is) you use to shoot at the bad guys on the screen. Is there any 360 games that do that? Is there a thrid party controller you could buy to use? Or is this outdated technology that nobody cares about anymore? I still get a kick at pointing and shooting stuff on screen.
  12. Sounds good guys! I read a bit about it over at gamespot, but I wanted what folks here had to say. Thanks for the other thread moycon! I agree, I think I'll go get that CE version I saw. Man, I don't even have this yet and I can't wait to play it.
  13. Couple of things. I've never really looked at this game before until now. Looks really cool. I love fantasy style games (Champions of Norrath on PS2) How do you like the game. Should I consider it? I noticed they added new download content for it too, cool! Also, if you buy it new, it's comes in a green hardcase. But I saw a used copy in a brown fold out case with a map, coin thing etc. Would the new copy have that stuff too? I think the brown fold out style looked really cool.
  14. This was the main raison why I have started to collect atari 2600 around 3-4 years ago. However, now, I have around 600 atari 2600 games and to be honest, I think that the last time that I found a game in the wild that I did not have in my collection was 1 year ago (maybe more). So I have started to collect intellivision because there are only 125 games it is very to get all those game (in the wild and ebay ) Now I'm missing only 8 games to complete it. And yes something I will like to sell all my video game..... I'm sitting at about 260+ carts, no dups or variations. I too have not found anything in the wild for some time now. It's not to say that if I do find something I like I won't get it, but I'm fine where I'm at with my 2600 collection. (I still want a 2600 CIB) So now, my Inty collection is staring to grow nicely. I'm going to hold onto my 2600 and all that goes with it. I'll never part with it.
  15. Man, I hope it never comes down like that. I was thinking maybe more on the lines of helping things out. Imagine what game developers could reeeeeally make with an adult game (I don't mean xxx stuff) with out having to worrying about adding kid safe content. Like JoeyBastard said... Yeah, I hope this would be the case.
  16. Looking for some insight on Xbox's driving wheel. Anyone used it? Do you like it or hate it? Anything better out there? It looks like it would be a blast to use!
  17. At least these points have a reason now, other than self satisfaction, free loot! I know that the Old Spice name doesn't really have that WOW factor when comes to someone sponsoring. But, Microsoft came up with the idea, and Old Spice was the first to step up. At least it's a start. Who knows what it will lead to or what other companies will take on the role for the next one. I can see two sides of this though. I just hope it doesn't lead to something like commercials. I still hate the fact they run 5 to 6 commercials before a movie in theaters, yet I don't get anykind of kickback. I know the commercials are not running because movie theaters think it's cool to do. I can watch those and be annoyed at home, why would I want to pay to see a movie and sit thru those? Sorry, strayed off in a tangent that doesn't really correlate.... This probably won't intice me to get a level 1,2, or 3. It has nothing to do with Old Spice, Microsoft or the free offer(s). I just like to play at my own pace. And gaining enough points to gain a certain level during a fixed time, isn't in my priority of playing. Although, I guess regardless if I can meet the regulated points to achieve a level, what have I got to loose? It's free! Now I just need to get an internet connection.
  18. Has to be Space Shuttle. Still is to this day. It must be a using the switches thing. Star Master was another good one.
  19. I know that Star Trek Shattered Universe tentatively works, but keeps on appearing and disappearing from the list. The game has graphical glitches, but does run. And yes, there is a FAQ on the XBox site where the person talking about the backwards compatibility states the intention to make the "entire XBox library" backwards compatible. However, a few months back it sort of inadvertently leaked that Microsoft either intends to ditch backwards compatibility or at least greatly scale back on their already anemic progress on the matter. Plus, a recent Microsoft announcement reveals that they feel their largest customer base for the 360 is new gamers to the XBox brand, not carryovers from the older box. So, I really doubt we'll see any significant additions to the BC games list. Right on. Being new to the Xbox scence, I just got excited (and went out of control) when I thought I would have access to the whole original library. Some friends bought me some some games from a $4.99 bin, original titles, they had no idea about xbox or 360. They saw "Xbox" on the game and bought them. I figured, hey at $4.99, I could have a pretty good horde of games for my new system! But, now I know. Other than a few original titles, I won't worry about the BC thing anymore. Thank you to everyone here who has helped this "green" noob on the whole Xbox scene. Geez, stay out of the scene for a couple of years, and I feel like I've been living under a rock! hahaahaa
  20. Achievements are really new to me. I don't actively search out to meet the requirements to unlock them. It is kinda cool though, when your not looking for them, and say for example, you kill 1,000 zombies in Dead Rising. *plink* you get an acheivement. Maybe if I used XBL, and they had something to offer, yeah I guess I would make an effort to unlocking more. There is one in Dead Rising for killing 10,000 zombies. Moycon, you said you used the car and racked up quite a bit of points. Ok, I admit, I want to bash 10,000 zombies! hahaahaaa I found the parking garage, but there is no visible entrance. What do you do to get inside?
  21. A little of hopeful wishing I guess. Thought I'd seen someone say a certain xbox game worked on the 360 (that wasn't llisted) and reading the FAQ saying they hope eventually to have most titles bc. I guess I took that as, hell try anything Right. Stick to the list, your answers will be revealed. I've been enlightened.
  22. I'll add/update games to first post as people log they're entries.
  23. Would everyone want to start list like this? A place to list the original Xbox title(s) you have and know they work on your 360, regardless if the game is on the list or not. A "YES" would indicate it works, and a "NO" indicates it doesn't work. Also make note if there are any quirks or weird problems you would experience while playing, and if you have installed latest MS update.. Battlestar Galactica: YES Forza Motorsports: YES this played even before I installed the update. One one track, on a certain corner, it would hesitate just for a split second. Nothing horrible though. Have not tried yet after the update. I Ninja: NO Midway Arcade Treasures II: NO Project Gotham Racing 3: YES Star Wars Battlefront I & II: YES Star Wars KOTOR & KOTOR2: YES(Lord helmet: although I noticed some slowdown in parts of KOTOR 2) Star Wars Legos: YES
  24. Tiger Woods 2005 or 2006 not on the list. MechAssault and MechAssault II also not on the list Has anyone tried these to see if they work on the 360? MechAssault looks coooool!
