  1. Like Atariboy said, it only works on the Xbox. I didn't think it was on the compatibility list for the 360. I wish the list would get updates more often, but it seems that Microsoft does not see it as a priority. See, I just didn't dig deep enough. Thanks for the help everyone. ...still sucks that I Ninja is on the list but doesn't work From the FAQ over at xbox.com "I want to clarify—if a game isn’t on the list at Xbox.com/Games, it won’t run on your Xbox 360 console. Putting in a game that’s not on the list will give you a message saying that the game is not currently supported on Xbox 360 and point you to Xbox.com/Games for more information. We’re working hard to determine the next batch of backward compatible titles, and would love to get feedback directly from gamers as well. We’ll have a place on Xbox.com where gamers can tell us their thoughts as we get closer to launch."
  2. And you know what, I'm not giving the correct title... Midway Arcade Treasures II. The game case says Xbox on it. They should support it right?
  3. Yeah, I know! After a loooong playing session, I'll find myself saying..."ok, after I build this pinata house, I'll save and quit" Another 2 hours pass and I'm saying, "ok, after I get these two to romance, I'll save and quit." Yeah, I'd say it's a little addictive.
  4. Well so far to my knowledge, the two that I bought. Purchased my 360 jan 10 2007. Downloaded and installed the update Jan 19 2007 Bought "I Ninja" and "Midway Classics II" (original Xbox titles) I get errors and no play on those two games. SW Battlefront II works. Forza and Project Gotham 3 work too. So for me, thats 2 out of 4. Dammit! I wanted the Midway title to work the most! Hey Lee, nothing wrong in trying to figure out whats up. Saying or doing nothing about a problem doesn't solve anything. And if you don't get any help or answers, man, I can understand the frustration. I hate this term, but...if a squeaky wheel gets the grease, squeak away brother. Hope the problems your having are only limited to the weird occational few.
  5. Throw some wheels on it and you have that little scurring droid that Chewbacca growls at in the halls of the Death Star (A New Hope).
  6. Yeah, they are not even listed, that sucks. I Ninja is listed as NEW. So maybe I Ninja was added to the list after the latest update.
  7. Well, I did the download to disc. updated the 360. I got a couple original xbox games out of a $4.99 bin (I ninja & Midway Arcade Treasures II) Both are ignored by the 360. List says compatible, guess not.
  8. Above the list of games it says, "Note: A software emulator is required for each original Xbox game you play on your Xbox 360™ console." Is this emulator something I'd have to download? I don't have internet (at home) to connect to. Am I screwed? BTW, I played Forza Motorsports (which is for the original Xbox) and it played ok. There are a couple spots on certain tracks where the games hesitates a bit. But other than that, it plays fine. And I never downloaded the emulator thingy. The other game I want to get is SW Battlefront II.
  9. Great stuff guys! Thanks! A friend of mine is going to make cable for me. wooooo!
  10. I wonder what the 1-4 players list on the back is all about then? Maybe they mean 1 player runs the controller and the other 3 tell player one what to do.
  11. Is there a list somewhere that confirms what original Xbox games will work on 360? Preferably 2 or more player games.
  12. I have the 360, my buddy has (orig) Xbox. We both have Forza Motorsports. I've got 2 TVs. Can I get one of those link cables so we can play against each other on seperate systems?
  13. I have not tried or read about this yet, but I noticed on the back of the game it says 1-4 players. How and what goes on with that. I'm going to have some friends over friday, and it would be cool if 4 of us could play this together. Anyone tried more than 1 player? (not through xbox live)
  14. I forgot to mention I still have all my original C-64 stuff. I never had a monitor for it back then, but found one couple years ago, so thats cool. Only a couple Star Wars figures have made it all these years (small head han, blue snaggletooth, and lando), and I manage to still keep my Shogun Warriors, Godzilla proudly sits on top the fridge.
  15. Crap, so is this Blu-Ray and HD-DVD technology going to be the next VHS vs. Beta tape battle again? I can see it now..."Choose, choose your destiny wisely."
  16. I just bought this last night. My girlfriend logged about 5 hours on it last night. I played for a couple hours. I'm hooked! It is kinda like The Sim's. I'm not very far, but I think it's an absolute blast. About your Salamango's not getting it on...can't you buy that candy in the village? (not redhots, something else) I have been breeding the snot out of my Whilrms and selling them at 100 a pop. I bought some of the candy's to help critters get it on, but I can't get them to eat it to get hearts above them. Also, sell flowers for $$$.
  17. Really? Thats crazy! Is this strategy mentioned in the rulebook? I think I need to fully re-read the manual for more insight about playing. Yeah, right now I'm level 10 and I'm dealing with those yellow rainsuit cult guys with green faces. (why don't zombies attack them too?! are they not among the living? I want a yellow outfit so zombies ignore me too) I'm in the movie theater now. I wiped all them out in the mall part, and cleared out a couple movies rooms, and then went to the restroom to save. Maybe when I play tonight, I'll just save and restart a new game like you suggested. Weird. It's definately a waaay different gaming style then I'm used to....play this game for like 10-12 hours. Then, before the game is finished, start the game all over again. We'll even let your keep your stats! Weird. I guess with that mindset, I'll play the game more relaxed and get into it in a far more posistive atitude. I can tell you this... playing this game so far has heightend my anger levels, increased my profanity vocabulary, and allowed me to dabble in the art of object breaking. Survivor missions, sigh....never mind, I've already said enough about dealing with anger issues.
  18. Right on. I'll take your advice and wear my shoes and go about my business. Thanks for the reply!
  19. Cool. One other Xbox noob question.... What the hell are achievement points and why do/would I care? I see things like, do this in a certain time and you unlock that and you get 20 pts. Am I supposed to spend these or something? Are tallied up somewhere. Do all points mass into one lump or are they per game?
  20. I went over to gamefaq and they list Mobile Ops: The One Year War, or the alternate title Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation: Troy. It looks like this should be out in March '07? The screen shots looked waaaaay cool. Is this the same Gundam game you're talking about?
  21. I'll have to look into those games. I had Dynasty Warriors 2 & 3 for the PS2, and I enjoyed those. I had rented a samurai game too, but I can't remember the name of it. Something like, you walked across the land and eventually you'd meet someone to duel against. Dang, I can't remember the name... anyway Yeah, I've been looking to get a TV soon. In fact, when I bought the Xbox, my intension was to walk out with a new tv. Instead, the 360 was my purchase. Question, the instruction booklet that came with it seemed kind of limited about the console itself. I thought for better performance issues, you could load a game onto the hard drive itself rather than using the disk. Is that true? If I remember, that was an option you could do on the original Xbox. I didn't find any info about that in the booklet. Seems like there was no info on managing your hard drive or anything. Just like adding images from my camera or other external USB devices. I added an image for my background. Cool. I selected a jpeg and now it's my background. But what if I wanted to upload more than a single image. You know, put 2 or 3 images on there to choose from. Isn't there some kind of folder or something to put stuff like that? I guess I'm looking at the 360 more as a computer rather than a gaming console.
