  1. It's a Genesis 6-button controller on a seagull adaptor (from the AA store). We're playing this on a 7800 with an A/V mod.
  2. It's been almost two decades since I first saw this cart label on the AtariAge search index.... 20 years since that lmao... And here it is in my hands! My son and I played it last night ... And we admit we had no idea what we were doing. If you don't have anything to do for two minutes of your life... I recorded some of the experience...
  3. My son and I are testing out some games from Germany! The first one is Motorcross. It's okay. Playable!!! Some of these weird games from far away... He seems to like it... But when I asked him he said... "This game is so bad!" We'll try some more. 😁
  4. Perhaps the best example of a game one collects and doesn't play.
  5. Here's the back of my game cabinet... For those that enjoy seeing the business end of things.
  6. The other day I was looking at a thread here that went into detail about how to mod these c-380's for A/V out. I can't seem to find the thread about it now. Anyone know the link to that thread?
  7. It probably does not qualify... Since it's a little like the situation with Yars Revenge and the Qotile. Running from Mike Myers in Halloween is pretty much the entire game. There are some short periods of time when he's not on the screen, but he's never that far away. It funny when you compare Atari's Halloween to something like Friday the 13th on the NES. I'm pretty sure it's an easy win to say that Jason is a boss in that game, and he appears a lot, but in that game there's more stuff to do to break up the boss fights. Halloween has Mike in it so much (he's the main element of the game, besides saving kids), saying he's a boss fight would be a little like saying every main adversary in a game like Tag Team Wrestling or (shudder) your opponent in Froggo's Karate are also a boss fights, and they are clearly not. Anyways, thought it was worth mentioning here, but unless we consider the whole game a boss fight, I don't actually think it qualifies to be honest.
  8. All the time, and no one has mentioned Halloween. (According to the manual... it's the game where HE comes home!)
  9. I've always kinda wanted one of these... $30 shipped. Untested. I think I made out pretty good on it, but I think it needs a bath. It looks like it's possible to do an A/V mod on these things. Kinda excited 'bout that
  10. Hoy! I got the greatest package ever from Deutschland today! I'll write about it more as I explore it. Life is good. Enjoy it.
  11. This looks great! What a great surprise!
  12. Raiders of the Lost Ark... ... The Ark!!! I'm just kidding. But actually if you look at the movie you could see the ending as one hell of a boss battle.
  13. Is there a finished proto available anywhere?
  14. I've been following this device since it's inception, but I have a gap and lost track. Jaguar CDs working in any capacity?
  15. Polaris I think should get a shout-out. Also in another thread we've been talking about Snail vs Squirrel a lot. I'm glad this one is getting noticed finally. And lastly, the unreleased Meltdown from 20th Century Fox is probably my favorite of their games, and also might be my favorite unreleased prototype. When the game first starts you are thinking... Ok cute. I think I get it, line up the cross hairs and shoot the dancing pixel. Ok... So is that it? But five minutes later, the game has ramped up and is delivering psychedelic visuals that make Tempest 2000 look calm in comparison... Your heart rate is elevated and you are moving the controller as fast as you can! The screen flashes and pulses A LOT... like no way this game would come out now because I can see how it would be almost guaranteed to trigger epilepsy. Use real hardware if possible, since you'll want the screen strobing and pulsing shapes to match 60fps 1-to-1... and give it a try if you dare!
  16. Interesting. I'm planning on using that mod for my 5200 because of this YouTuber... It looks like the same mod as the first post, just the AliExpress version. I ordered a few a week or ago and plan on using them in my 4-port 5200 and my 2600 six-switch.
  17. Thanks for the recommendation. Looking forward to playing this and several other games that should be arriving from Germany shortly.
  18. I spent a good deal of my weekend trying to fix my Sega CD model 1. I replaced the drive belt and got the CD tray to function fairly well. Got the drive working on the bench with a cell phone charger to open and close the tray. Found a problem with the closed micro-switch and fixed it with a spacer. Now the unit seems to know when it's open and closed. I was all prepared to recap it, but it looks like the laser won't read at all. I ordered a new laser on eBay, so looks like I have to wait for it to arrive before I can do the next step.
