Thanks again... Well, I just discovered that it's actually a 4-port Atari 800. It worked last I checked. I have a disk drive and a bunch of accessories too.
If anyone is interested in this thing, let me know.
Glad I can pull the chip in a hassle-free reversable operation. I really hope another run of these POKEYs gets made.

Oh wow... I totally assumed it was a desoldering situation. Thanks for that! I'll have to take a look under the hood then.

I'm suddenly in the 7800 world. I have no Pokey (and I want to buy Super Circus AtariAge).
Anyone want to sell me a Pokey?
I have an Atari 400 I'm not using, but it seems a shame just to butcher it for one chip. Anyway, hoping to hear from you if you can sell me one or want to trade.
Thanks!

I got one of these coming...
Neat! Is that something for retro gaming rig? If so, you going with DOS, Win 3.1, 95, 98 or ? Just curious what your plans are with it.

Well, a 7800 came into my life recently, and it's begging to be fed (just when I thought I got everything I could possibly want for the 2600).
I still have to find a spot for the thing to integrate it into the small game/guest room. Then find room in the cart rack for games that have yet to be purchased.
Besides that, my goal this year is repair rather than aquisition. I've got a garage full of arcade games. All of which (except Baby Pac-Man) worked great before I moved to the country. Immediately after the move four years ago, I got married and started having kids.
It took 2016-2018 to get the game/guest room completed to my specs. It was originally a walled-in room in the garage where I think the last owners sub-let. Not very livable. Lots of interior upgrades, electrical work and a new A/C, and now it's pretty nice. It's also got all my consoles and carts, a mame table, a pachinko and a slot machine. The slot was a recent find that needs a little work (also on my to do list). Not my first slot machine repair, but this one is an early 80's Aristocrat/IGT hybrid called an Esprit (I think), and a tall order. Also first one I'm committed to keeping for myself. Any slot experts here? Anyone?
Anyway, hopefully 2019 will be the year of the garage arcade. Things always seem to take longer then expected tho.
Dang 7800. Another mouth to feed. Good thing it's weird and charming.

Those are all fantastic I will post my secret Santa pics as soon as I return from visiting family. Unfortunately our AA family may have a no show on the secret Santa front there is one individual who has yet to receive a gift and I have not heard one peep out of his secret Santa. I am still investigating however multiple messages to this person have gone unanswered I am just hoping nothing unfortunate has happened to this person and possibly they just got overwhelmed during the holidays.
Yeah, and if it happens this member has no package, I volunteer to chip in and send, you know, a stocking stuffer type gift. Keep us posted.

Hahahaha! Yeah, Jasper is always right in there for any family excitement. He's a good boy!
This package really blew my kids mind. I'm really excited to try everything in it. I read my daughter some Sonic the Hedgehog comic tonight. It was really awsomely bewildering to her. She really like robots (!) And she's very interested in the concept of what a bad guy ("is he mean?") is. She also likes hedgehogs.

The outter parameter has been breached!
Wow! I just couldn't hold back anymore. As you can see the kids, and even the dog, all very excited too!
Thank you thank you so much Secret Santa! You hit the nail on the head so many time you practically drove it through the board!
I held back a bit... My Secret Santa was very smart and puts big wrapped box in there, which I will refrain from opening until the big day.
But seriously... I'm floored!
Where to begin? The Sonic the Hedgehog comics are perfect for the kids. They are thrilled. Custom beer opener with canyon bomber on it? If you knew me you'd think I already had one

I love the space shuttle plates. Rad rad rad... I'm getting them framed.
Iron Soldier? Also how'd ya know I didn't have that? And that I love old mech warrior games? Oh yeah "he sees you when you're sleeping". Something like that. Boxed? With manual and insert? Santa... You are too kind.
And the Saturn controllers really have me spooked. I actually really could use them. My son and I like to play Astal together. Our favorite game on the Saturn... And great fun with a kid since they can control the little bird that follows the main character around. Just perfect.
Looking forward to see what this programmable one can do with fighting games.
So thrilled. Thanks again Santa... And I can't wait till I see what's in the big box... Oh wait, I can wait.... That's the point of what I was trying to say.
I can't even imagine what it is tho. It was surrounded by awesomeness.
Merry Christmas, Members! And especially to you Santa!!!

An Intellivision and LTO Flash Cart.
I was seriously considering going the same route this year. Please enjoy it immensely for me, okay?

I've been longing for a short stack of Xonox single-ender carts for the 2600 for over a year. I owned two already.
My display rack, which is an old single-serving Kellogg's cereal rack, only has room for a stack of 6 Atari 2600 carts in each slot. Since there's 8 single enders Xonox releases, I picked my favorite 6 (I forgoed Motocross Racer and Spike's Peak -which goes for $200+ by itself).
Took patience to wait for affordable copies to come along, and I kept the price down by bidding on ones with somewhat wrecked labels.
Last one arrived last night. Tomarc the Barbarian.
Feeling pretty good. This is enough for the collection this year I think.

Speaking of the cold war, I just watched Wargames 2 tonight, while I was wrapping Christmas presents. I found it enjoyable. Lots of nice fan service. Also nice to see flip phones again.
I'm doing the CTW and kids controller extravaganza over Christmas, so hopefully will have some cool stuff to add here. Also my daughter turns 2 right after Christmas so the subject title is accurate again.

THANKS SO MUCH! This really was the last thing on Santa's list.
Great, now let's see how they react. After they get some time behind these games, I'm planning on updating my old thread...
http://atariage.com/forums/topic/274802-atari-with-a-2-year-old/page-1
It's due for an update soon anyhow. Toddler anecdotes abound.

I've had some good luck reproducing Kids controller overlays using cardstock and "rolling" a large marble over an area to indent. Makes buttons!
Anyways, I'm giving my two kids the CTW deluxe package for Christmas (all four games and 2 kids controllers), but I'm missing a Cookie Monster Munch overlay.
Can someone post a high resolution scan (like 300 dpi or more) ? It would be seriously appreciated.
Wasn't able to find a nice image floating around on the internet last I checked. Also if anyone is interested in reproducing homemade ones of their own, I can post scans of my originals for the other three games.

Damnit... When my inbox said "New reply to Cookie Monster Munch... etc." I got all excited.
But yeah, you are right.

Hiya!
Anybody out there have a Cookie Monster Munch controller overlay for the Kid's Controller? For sale or trade or whatever?
I've got the cart, instructions and even the box, but no overlay, and it's something I'd like to get under the Xmas tree for my 3-year-old. Lemme know if you can help.
Thanks!

Hehe... We should all be so lucky. Games are a total dud of an idea for my wife too, but thankfully I think I got her covered. Ancestry dot come package seems perfect for her since she's on a genealogy kick, if that gives anyone here any ideas. Also I'm working on a surprise new package of promotional material for her art products. I'm sure it's worth some points that the promotiomal material is kind of jewelry related. I have to get several more ducks in a row to pull this off tho.I should have checked my wife’s gamer credentials before I popped the question. Next time.
I hope nobody minds if I say this, but since I'm on the subject... www.cosmiccircles.com is her website. We'd be happy to sell you some of her window clings (Cosmic Circles) and cards if you still need gifts in the "real world". Special AtariAge Secret Santa Discount ... Use promo code "Thank You Friend" and I'd also love it if you PM me

Trippy space and geometric imagry is her thing (makes sense why I'd marry her in that light, right?) ...
