Yeah I bought mine direct from Telegames a few years ago now.

I personally have an official PAL TurboGrafx console. It drops the 16 from the name and is grey instead of black. It also has an RGB socket which is rather nice so you get an incredibly good picture from it. It plays all US games without any problem and of course Jap PCE games with an adapter.
The official distributors of the machine were Telegames UK and it was sold in their shop as well as a number of independent game stores.

Neo Geo?
Guess I'll just pick from 'the rest,' then.
As much as I like it the Neo Geo was far from a mainstream console

I would still put it in there, remember the pc engine was only released in Japan, so it was only mainstream if you lived there

Erm . . . .
PC Engine was released as the TurboGrafx 16 in the US and got a limited release in Europe as the TurboGrafx, hence why its included as the PC Engine / TurboGrafx in this poll

The Neo Geo sold in small numbers to home users and was never available in any shops that I know of.

I saw this question asked on another forum I frequent and thought I would get the opinion of the members of this board as it seems to have a pretty large and active community.
Basically the question is: Pick your favourite mid to late eighties 8-bit console and your favourite early 90's 16-bit console.
On the other forum people tended to pick the console they grew up with and as it was a forum with mainly UK based members the SMS beat out the NES by a large margin and the MD beat the SNES by a little. I added in the TG and the 7800 (which was 2600 compatible) to make things more interesting.

Sounds like somebody needs to make a hack

Sensible Soccer

If you are talking about hand-egg then it has to be Joe Montana Sportstalk Football on the Megadrive "Turns on the speed!"

Mine is bad too but I found if I used it through an RF signal booster its loads better!

Disagree.
The original Ninja Gaiden is brilliant, best beat 'em up to appear on a handheld at that time. NG3 is utter crap though.
Pit-Fighter uses almost 100% digitised graphics so you can understand why the game card had to be so big.

I don't really get involved in politics but I have heard a lot about some guy called Thunderbird who is apparently now an actual politician or trying to become one anyway.

Perhaps someone could convert 'crownland' from the A8 and just add a few sprites and some parallax scrolling
That easy eh? Better get on with it then!

I also saw a post on here somewhere of some boxed copies on ebay for crazy amount of money hopefully thats not the case with these.
Was that Kevincal by any chance?
He is the laughing stock of the Sega (and now Neo Geo) community, the over priced crack whore of eBay.

I always find it funny that Ninja Gaiden 3 is that big as its just a terrible port of an equally terrible NES game.
There is nothing there that warrants the card being that big.

As far as classic gaming goes I have to say Mario & Zelda games. Really don't see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, just use an RF splitter or a switch.

Yeah they work fine, I did this with my Iron Soldier 2 once I found out how much it was worth.
I used Nero on the lowest speed to do and it worked fine.

Annoyingly I seem to have 2 boxes for Pro-Controllers but only one actual pad, I would love to know what happened to the missing one

Depends on the type of shooters really but the Saturn, PC Engine, Atari 2600 and Megadrive are all fantastic in different ways.
On the 2600 you have the classic arcade shooters like Space Invaders, Galaxian, Phoenix, Gorf, Demon Attack, Defender 2 and Gyruss.
The PC Engine has perhaps the best quality with stuff like Blazing Lazers, Lords Of Thunder, R-Type, Sidearms and Galaga '88.
The Saturn introduced bullet hell shooters from people like Cave (Radient Silvergun, Dodonpachi etc.) while still having improved versions of games from the 16-bit era like Darius and Parodius.
The Megadrive probably has the biggest selection and my favourites for this machine are Gynoug, Mercs, Xenon 2, Air Buster, Bio Hazard Battle and the Thunderforce games.

Without any doubt the 16-bit era (if you couldn't have guessed by my name!)
You had a nice range of consoles with real individuality, all the big companies were still around, there was still loads of innovation and the game magazines were brilliant too.

I remember seeing a preview for Malibu in Game Zone magazine back in the day that showed that title screen except it was called "Malibu Bikini Beach Volleyball"

Jaguar vs. 3DO?

Somebody was talking about it on one of the Sega forums, can't remember which one I will have to look. There was a thread talking about the Jaguar and the subject of his (I think) game Battlesphere was brought up and somebody said he had given up coding and was involved in politics now. Maybe it was just a joke or something, I don't know the community that well really so don't have much of an idea who he is or this Gorf guy that everyone seems to constantly talk about (I am guessing he made Gorf for the Jaguar?)
