  1. I love having physical items too. I'm very traditional in my tastes for media. I go out of my way to avoid downloads if I can. If I can buy something in a form where I can hold it, I will always go for that. I personally like cartridge games and never much cared for discs because carts are so rugged. If I had my way we'd be using carts again, but I don't see that happening, so I would opt for an SD card instead of a disc or download if I had to purchase something in digital form. That is, of course, unless they were to have Dreamcast backward capabilities, which I would love. If they would release a system which would play Dreamcast discs I would have no problem whatsoever with the system being disc-based.

I definitely agree that having physical copies is the way to go. I don't like the idea of everything being download only in the future, but I see things going that way. At least we'll always have the old consoles and games we can play, eh?

  2. I think it would be a better financial move to have the basic HDD be 100GB, the advanced be 200 instead of 250GB, and then 350GB for the elite. Instead of having the 150GB jump from basic to advanced and a smaller 100GB jump up to elite it would make more sense to have the larger jump from advanced to elite with the same markup as it was from basic to advanced. That way people will feel like they get 50GB more free if they purchase the elite model.

It's like sodas at fast food places. It will be a 50¢ increase from small to medium, but only 25¢ to go from medium to small, so the customer buys a large feeling like they got the best deal, and the fast food joint gets a shitload of profit because soda is insanely cheap. That's just my thinking.

Also, if they're not going to have Dreamcast backward capabilities I'd say just do without discs altogether. I'd rather buy games on SD cards or something like that which won't get scratched.

Actually, as long as I'm fantasizing, I would say no Netflix or any of that shit on my console. I want my game systems to be devoted to games and games only. No TV tuner, no apps, no Hulu or Neflix or any other movie service. If I wanted to be watching movies I wouldn't be using my game console, I'd be using a computer which is more powerful and will be better able to stream or download what I want to watch. Besides, nearly every other device out there does that stuff, so why would we need another one?

Oh, now that I think about it, no gimmicky controllers. The Wii was fun for about two months, then it was just annoying. The Wii U looks to be about the same, but is only good for solo playing because of the expensive controller. I played a multiplayer game on that thing and, guess what? the person with the fancy controller won 80% of the time. I hate touch screens and I hate interactive motion gaming. I want a nice controller that works and which I can get for $20 or less.

This is a lot longer than I was expecting. I was just going to comment on the HDD thing, but I got all passionate about it and kept writing. I would love to see a new Sega Console which remained true to its roots. I loath the consoles out today.
