That is how the TG-16 covers came about was I sent them my TG-16 to measure from. Barb will not accept measurements she didn't make herself so you could reach out to her and ask, but my guess is that they don't have one current for that variant of the N64.
Good to know, thank you

I was thinking of picking a few of these up when I catch them on ebay. Does anyone know if the N64 one will fit the Pikachu edition since it has a different footprint?

I thought anyone using rf would be using these by now, you can get em from ebay for a few dollars
Go composite or svideo, rgb/component for the newer stuff, ditch rf
Turn on some led or florescent lights
Also rf out depends on the unit, they do not transmit the picture using the same erp (power level)
You can still see emi interference (grainy wobbly picture) while not heavy still there,
Remember rf is literally just a small extremely low power analog tv transmitter, if you took this and ran it through an rf amplifier and antenna you'll have an analog "tv station" (fcc unlicensed however), with all the same issues why that's not used anymore
I just looked up the rca/f-type adapter. I didnt even know these existed. But don't you lose sound with this adapter?

Sweet deal for anyone near a Menards! For anyone not in range of picking it up at the store in person, after shipping and their processing fee ends up close to $50 unfortunately

I keep hearing anecdote after anecdote of folks that have just awful experiences with the chain and their staunch refusal (it seems like) to keep up with the needs of their customers.
my opinion is that i wish they'd go back to focusing on games and consoles of all kinds- even to selling the 'online game card' type things if that's what the customers want. even as old as i am, the urge for instant gratification is pretty high over online purchases/etc lol (from like Amazon or similar). if they had CLEAN, nice-looking stores (which the ones in Springfield MO imo are not) that focused on games, consoles, console peripherals, computer gaming, etc, i'd hit them up every time im in town and probably spend more money there.
but.. then again, maybe im just yearning for game stores of the past and should get a time machine instead. haha
Ive spent more time then I would like to admit reading stuff from Gamestop employees. Theyre experiences with corporate/customers paralleled my own in my former job and I find the stories amusing. But back to the point, your ideal for them would actually have them go down faster. The percentage of their revenue from all that toy crap far outpaces their income from game sales and it has been that way for a while. It's seems to be a fairly concrete consensus of their employees that they would have gone out of business long ago had it npt been for them expanding into collectibles as much as they have. Unfortunately what you think (and I agree with you) would make for a better video game store is just not financially practical for a large corporate operation anymore.

The Gamestop reddit talked about this a little while ago. It's an interesting place to read up on the shenanigans of how Gamestop corporate really screws stores over.

Are 2020 Joycons you'd buy from Amazon or Best Buy fixed, or has anyone encountered the drift problem with these too?
They have not done anything to fix the drift issue on new joycons as far as anyone knows. They all have the same likelihood of developing the issue

Little bit of an old bump but from what I'm gathering. A few Songbird games would be considered apart of a retail set? Specifically Towers II, Zero 5, Worms, and Breakout 2000. But what about Hyper Force, Protector, Sky Hammer, Soccer Kid, Total Carnage? I've always used he rarity guide on here as a more or less "official" list and Total Carnage is listed as a homebrew while the others are listed as a standard release.

In case anyone runs into the system trying to connect to the servers during the initial boot up which locks you out of using anything. Which could happen after a powering on/off (not sleep) this will get you past that.

Not long after that my wife found another 2600 on a yard sale - this time it was a heavy sixer. Both consoles work fine although the image quality leaves a lot to be desired.
So now I have few questions:
1. Which of these consoles should I mod and which I should leave untouched?
2. Is it possible to route the composite output without cutting off some/any components?
3. As for the mod itself, which is preferred: drilling holes in case and putting in some rca connectors or just replacing original coaxial cable with composite one?
Thank you.
In case you need the info

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to see if I can get some help with questions I have about trying to construct components of a 2600 portable. The backstory is I'm taking a manufacturing class where one of our two main projects is to design a PCB and have it produced by a fab house for testing. The focus is really on using the design software rather than coming up with some original hardware. Most are doing simple things like FM receivers and such but I wanted to do something more interesting. I tried following the Ben Heck hand soldered video but he only really showed him fitting the main IC's on a protoboard and didn't really show or have any schematics for the rest of the design.

So I found the schematics here on atariage and am trying to eliminate as many "unnecessary" things as I can to get it as small as possible while being able to show base functionality of turn on, get video out, control the game. So Ive eliminated the second controller, difficulty switches, and channel select switch. Ive also intended to replace the video circuitry with this design

Which brings me to my questions:
1. Will that design eliminate the need for all of the original circuitry? The new design doesn't have any connection to the Vblank pin on the TIA, is that at all needed when converting to composite video?
2. The next question being can I use just 1 audio out pin or should I bridge them as in the original design?
3. Is there anything else I can eliminate and still retain the ability to just fire it up and playing a single game?
4. Im not familiar with all the notation used in the schematic. There is a notation that says 5v sources with a line to both filled in and non-filled in triangles but is there a reason why some are colored and some are not that Im missing?
There is also a symbol next to the capacitors that I haven't seen before on the bottom left of[ the same image kinda looks like a piston

Sorry for the long post but any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Just throwing out the information. Metallica has 10 albums. Cliff played on Kill'em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets, he died on the tour of Puppets. Jason played on Justice

Depending on the company, the website and brick and mortar are essentially different companies. I know advance auto parts is like that. You can save a ton of money ordering to pick up in store vs just walking in and buying it. The employees are not supposed to price match the website at all, people have to do it the online way even if they are holding the product in their hand, in the store, they have to use the website to get the price. It makea for some interesting interactions.

I got a handfull of Switch games at my local TRU for 40% off. A few games were exempt like Zelda and Skyrim. They also started to mark down their Legos which were intially thought to be sent back to the vendor( i have a friend working there so I hear whats going on) my local store is farther along the closing process compared to most though

I know this thread is a little old but the kickstarter is in its final days and it's something I think is really cool and interesting. Its the first kickstarter Ive back and hope the make their new stretch goal of memory mapping.
Edit: woops I thought this thread was about the NES Maker program. My bad.
This is what I was talking about

This is my first time posting on this site I think, been lurking for many years though. Ive been trying to self mod my own 2600 and found your post. Ive used the AV mod found on instructables which is a quick mod but like you said is not the greatest. So I would like to try your version here and just a a question or two. First looking at your two stage design you have the cap marked as zero and I also don't see one on your board so Im assuming its no longer used but not sure if Im missing something. Also could you show where on the board that brown wire is connected? Thanks

He just got a hell of a deal for CIB there are people offering $250 alone for the manual all over the place

Video game sceneries that "feel like home"

There are two that come to mind. Theres an area in Breath of the Wild, I think near Terry Town, thats has a forest of what looks like white birch trees and the leaves are all brown and orange. Very autumn looking. Similarly I had once found a planet like that in No Man’s Sky very early on and it became my home planet. But then after a bunch of updates it was gone. Was really disappointed. I have a thing for autumn scenery
