Pal rarity database? cant find the website now
random7100 replied to random7100's topic in Atari 2600
Thats not the one, but it is a very useful site, thanks. quite a collection! although i do feel that people who take label variation to the extreme need to get out a bit more. lol -
Hi all. Not been on for a little while. I had a website on my favourites, it was a really simple website, plain white page with a little table where you could select drop downs for the various labels etc I saved the data to a spreadsheet but unfortunately had to re install everything on my PC, so lost them both, thats the final straw Microsoft! Anyone know the website im on about and can link me? cant find it for the life of me. Solved one issue by installing Linux, so much better than Windows for what i want, and lots more stable, id really recommend it. Im using Linux 13/Maya Thanks! Paul

Nice one, good luck with the sale, will be watching this!

Even for commons, you guys have got it so cheap over there! $1 is like 63 pence in UK money, which is nothing. If it all increases relatively then its no wonder people in US can quickly build up nice boxed collections. In the 'wild' here in the UK you'd be looking at about £1 to £2.50 per loose cart average, depending on title and condition. I think that equates to between 1.58 and 3.95 USD. Not that you see a lot in the wild here anymore. Used to see a lot at car boot sales etc, but now you're lucky to see a few battered Air Sea Battle or Pac Man carts

yea, some red label carts (later production dates) wont fit well in the woodys. Its just how some of them are. Most will fit ok still, but some are slightly too large. I guess tolerances werent as critical with the junior, and maybe by then quality control was worse too
-
Back into it now then? i like the searching, its part of the fun. Paid 10 Euro shipped for that. Im still getting the odd cart or two when i see them cheap, so i am getting there with the collection. I have been looking at your other collections, i think i may collect the Imagic set after the red labels
-
Nice start there. You need a Sega in there somewhere as well The N64 is still a good fun system now really. I was playing mine today, got the memory expansion in and was on Star Wars Racer, great fun

Red Sea Crossing .... *jokes* Mine are a few red label PALs, mainly R6-8s

A Question for you gamer collectors here
random7100 replied to carmel_andrews's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
I have a quick go on mine when i buy them, to see if they work basically, then they go in the collection. I had a 2600 as a kid and loved it, but for playing, things have moved on nowadays. I collect for the challenge. If i want to play anything i normally get out the Sega Megadrive or the N64 -
Next challenge, first member to find a Red Sea Crossing mis print labelled cart
-
Yep. Random i coming for you! Only kidding, thats a nice find! Congrats!! How many do you have left to find? Since 14 mounth it´s been vanguard for me. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Ha ha, just seen this! That Vanguard took doing worldwide searches twice a day for months and months, that's the first and only one ive seen. At least they're definitely out there. Id keep an eye on french and german ebay, 99% of my rarities have come from there. Was the 2600 more popular over there at that late stage in the 2600's life than it was in the UK? is that why more of these red labels seem to be over there? i dunno

My small PAL red label collection
random7100 replied to random7100's topic in Show Us Your Collection!
Thanks, i do like the way the red labels look together. The cart you're looking at is the Midnight Magic mis-print label. Technically not part of the red label collection proper, its just in the rack there -

Cheers. I get that i still need 20, or was it 21? I am including the two different Solaris and two different Mario Bro's as seperate entries though luckily they're all the low to mid rarity ones now so il just gradually pick them up. If i see another Vanguard il snap it up and pass it onto you at cost -
First things first, all those people who slated you before, but now make you offers, blow them off, **** em. lol Enjoy the cart or sell if you want. People take money too seriously sometimes. Im sure what whenever/if he sells he will make a lot of profit compared to what it cost him. Its all up to him too, its his cart, he doesn't have to do anything a forum tells him to Obviously it would be good to get the info and data recorded on here, but i cant blame the guy for not being forthcoming, especially now. I think there will probably be a few more appearing soon as word gets out. which takes us back on topic to the flyer...

Its cases like this that make me sad on forums. ive seen it on different systems forums, also vintage BMX forums etc. anywhere where middle age men with cash like to get one over on people or make a quick buck. decency goes out the window and people seem to be willing to do anything to get what they want. very sad and RIP the guy who passed, thoughts to his family being as in 2 pages no one has even said it yet (apart from Deus maybe, who has contact with the guy). shame. a good case also for indexing, even briefly, your collection, its worth or at least some clue for your family so they at least get fair prices for things if they do sell up when youre gone

cos its SEGA, which is a byword for awesomeness

Thats really cool and would be pretty awesome as a collection centrepiece! i presume it was used as a point of sale item in the larger stores at the time? -

Goldenax, i could maybe sell or swap my duplicate with you, unless its boxed youre after. ive never seen a red label box for Dodge Em except in one pic, so i can believe the long wait and im not accepting the 16in1 cart as part of my collection, lol! sure, its got a label, and that labels red but thats where the similiarity ends for me
