      GB had nice computers with colours too:) Memotech MTX and Amstrad :)

      Usually the computers supported colour. The likes of the Amstrad CPC 464 though had 2 models, a cheap one with a monochrome monitor or an expensive one with colour. Nearly everyone went for the monochrome. Can get colour from either unit through a TV though.

      As was stated, the British tended to prefer cheaper setups than Americans, which is why cassettes lasted so long over there well after we standardized here on disks. With that said, a LOT of Apple II users had monochrome monitors, as did early PC users, and of course those on CP/M systems. It tended to be the computers that used TVs for displays here that avoided the monochrome thing.
