  1.

Teleport the waffles back to a starting position, or maybe make the player MOB 1-2 size so he is harder to hit.

I added in some power ups. These start at 10 seconds in for testing purposes, but in the final version they will start 60 seconds in. It took a few hours because the code was misbehaving. Here is a list of power-ups (so far)

TEN - (blue) - add 10 points to the score

SNAIL - (green) - slow the waffles down for 10 seconds

STOP SIGN (red) - stop the waffles completely for 10 seconds.

Anyone have any ideas for the fourth one? I need a fourth one.

  2. 1. Prices have not come down to sub-$40 in the southern NJ area (Philadelphia suburbs) for the Inty Flashback anywhere I have seen.

    2. If I had to bet $, there will not be an Inty Flashback 2, for reasons mentioned in other threads.

I'm happy that there was a #1, it was/is a good experience for 2014, time to move on.

  3. With the Inty's inherent limitation of 8 MOBs, off the top of my head it seems like Missile Command would not be possible without flicker... But then again I've been surprised before....

It would be cool to see some more Atarisoft releases in the original Atarisoft box style:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atarisoft

Announced Inty games apparently were Missile Command and Vanguard.

    I'd love to see:

    Battlezone

    Jungle Hunt

    Robotron

    Stargate

  4. I live in the US but paid GBP for a 9" Burgertime advertisement poster repro to decorate the office cubicle.

I would pay for a large-size poster if it was a refresh of a classic advertisement or blow-up of a box for a game I like. A large display poster of overlays is not sexy enough for me to want to display framed. I definitely respect the talent and intestinal fortitude it takes to make them, but I need to really like the subject matter enough to battle the WAF.

For me, a poster of an ad and/or gameplay featuring any of these would be a good buy in my opinion.

    1. Burgertime
    2. Dracula
    3. Sea Battle
    4. NFL Football
    5. Astrosmash
    6. Chip Shot
    7. Demon Attack
    8. Frog Bog
    9. Microsurgeon
    10. Safecracker
    11. Snafu
    12. Star Strike
    13. Swords & Serpents
    14. Utopia
    15. World Cup Soccer
    16. Tron Maze a Tron
    17. Tron Discs
They would work in a game room (eg Astrosmash in Nurmix's gamer garage), in a kid's room (eg my son is a soccer nut so a Soccer poster would be cool), Utopia (in an office) or anywhere (eg Microsurgeon is just iconic).
    Thanks!

  5. The Tron Deadly Discs actors appear to all be "double high" running men with discs. With player vs 3 enemies that makes 8 MOBs. Then when discs are in flight that makes 12 MOBs. I don't see any flicker.... What did I miss, how was that done?

Yes folks, I'm back after "going dark" for a while. Please expect more newbie-class questions while I ramp up on my game ideas again. :)

    Thanks.

  6.

OT - Joe, were you an Apple ][ guy "back in the day"?

Plain text can take a surprising amount of space. 150 pages at 200 characters a page (roughly a screenful) would weigh in at about 30K bytes as raw text. Its easy to see why Zork and other text adventure games used various compression schemes (dictionary, packed letters, etc.) to put these games on a diet.

Colossal Cave takes up 128K bytes just for its databasethat's not counting the engine. 95% of that is text, I'm pretty sure. To put it into perspective: That's nearly one whole side of an Apple ][ floppy.

  7. I want to make my own Intellivision game box by hand. I need to make a few boxes for (strange) party favors.

Can anyone share a link to any pattern available that I could print and cut-out and fold and glue myself? Top fold or gate fold or whatever, doesn't matter. I am hoping I can use someone else's pattern before I re-invent the wheel.

    Thanks.

  8. Hmm... The (insane) possibilities are endless...

A for-charity/fundraising setup at a 'con with two Intellivisions and TVs side-by-side. A Desert Bus race, with the game mechanics tweaked so going straight results in a faster time (making/correcting turns takes longer). Super Pro Desert Bus, Competition Edition .

Each Intellivision has a Crazy Climber "console inset overlay" made out of some kind of clear material, the Intellivision logo at the bottom-left part of the unit can still be seen but there is space for a sponsor between it and the power button, the top area of the console can take a console overlay that mentions the contest. I imagine something like thin Lucite as a material?

Team Intellivision one has regular controllers with contest/charity overlays only, team two has wired-in the Grips Intellivision Arcade Controller, which also has a sponsor/ad bearing "coverlay" on the right side of the controller - nothing sells better than seeing something in action. :)

When driving the bus are there ads on the side of the road, such as "buy grips03 Intellvision arcade controller" on sale now :) Then you can get ad dollars too.
