Very much so I believe. the multi-layered background scrolling is awesome, and as for the levels, and the obstacles...going uphill, the spaceships above, even the little "batmobile" on the championship course...it's pretty spot on. the main downside is the moon buggy. Looks like crap compared to everything else.
you know you will be the first to try the demo...

I think that's the whole point; the 7800 has enjoyed smaller arcade games for quite a while now, there is no shortage of those. But something like Bentley was really missing, a kind of game not typically associated with the 7800.
I'm sure there will be more fast arcade style games coming, but Bentley helps the system to become attractive in areas where it was not yet successful. Just look at it, I am a prime example; I never cared for the 7800, I wouldn't play more than a handful of its official releases... yet Bentley has gotten me interested.

you have a point

He's made others.

Some of us have been waiting for a good platformer for a while!
me too !!
though i don't think i would trade half a dozen top notch Atari arcade games for it

Test Rom ? Please ?

Is it possible to fix the overscan area? It's annoying how you can see it on the left and right sides of the screen.
still didn't get that far

improved the label, more pictures soon...

That's not really fair, though. It wasn't like Fernando was being mean-spirited, he was just stating that he missed the horde of new releases for the 7800, and didn't feel that Bently Bear was worth missing out on the numerous arcade-game conversions we had a couple of years ago. Of course, that said, he chose to say that right when another batch of them showed up in the store this week.
I admit that, personally, there's a lot of games in Bob's queue that I'm far more interested in than Bently Bear (like Gorf, for instance)... but I'll get it too when I can!As for 'writing it yourself', ASM is not exactly the stuff of a light-hobby. I'm an experienced developer that's done ASM work, and I'm getting wide-eyed looking at the ASM from years' past, myself. (Of course, it doesn't help that real life has interfered heavily the past few weeks, but there ya go.)
and i enjoy them all on the Cuttle Cart 2,
so surelly more is better for me !

I always thought that Moon Patrol could use a few tweaks. While it plays nice, the graphics (especially the buggy) could have been better.
my thoughts too,
halfway down the road...on this,
then maybe DK Arcade conversion From A8 ?

added on top:
*compatible with ultimate 1mb and incognito boards -myide os can be flashed with bios generator for better compatibility-
-
You're not going to change the "look" of the Aardvark Moon Patrol Unit are you?

improved patrol, better pitch sound, colors similar to the arcade,
getting rid of that reversed fonts , and so on ...
-
By the way... is it also possible to use the MyBios EPROM with this cart, so you skip the built-in features and still use it as a MyIDE 1 interface?
Hell yes !
and there's a new internal image for that
-
someone asked me,
yes,
the CF is not fully inserted,
and it's backwards

-
A CF-card has a "real" IDE interface but the connector is just smaller. IDE-2-CF adapters are passive adapters that just wire from an IDE connector to a CF connector. So a CF-card is a "real" IDE device that just happens to use flash memory for its storage.
Robert
mybios has to be loaded from the menu,
so in a sense Rybags was right too

Then start writing them
Just my 2 cents...
didn't want to sound rude, Bob is THE reason i still use my 7800

-
Gotta be a hack!
yep!

What CF type does it take though?
I have SIDE and couldn't find any adaptor that allows SD cards -> CF Type 1 slot (Type 1 CF is 3.3 mm thick, the Type 2 is the 5 mm thick version)
I don't know how it can claim "IDE BIOS" - cartridge by it's architecture doesn't allow low-level SIO override, or replacing the OS. Of course it could operate in a similar way to SIDE, ie have resident SDX and Xex loader.
Another IDE type does muddy the waters a bit more, but a well done cart is more marketable than many of the internal types that replace the OS and often involve hacking the machine's internals.
Seeing Steve/Atarimax is supporting it, I'd expect the quality to be the usual high standard.
i've tested it with dozens of CF cards, very compatible
and works just fine with lots of sd card adaptors like this:
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160904492197
ok,ok,ok, it's not REAL ide, call it CF cart if you want,
at Atarimax it was named Myide 2 though
