  1. Excuse my ignorance on the subject, as I've never been interested in IDE connectivity and related Atari mods since I sold my MIO many moons ago. Can this cart be used with a real HD or is it just for flash memory. From the looks I would say no (despite the disk platter on the background ;)), but i wanted to make sure.

myide 2 is not like the first one,

does not have an ide connector,

    just a compact flash slot,

    also compatible with sd w/adaptors

  2. bought my cuttle cart 2 few months ago, as easily as posting a wanted ad on marketplace,

    they're still out there...

and they even run Boulderdash ;)

But please Ziggystar , continue your awesome 5200 releases,

    we need you !!

  3. if you plan on modding a 7800 with Longhorn's Chip, there are same things to change,

sound and video involved, but when fixed, it gives cristal clear image

the easier video mod solution -same Best Electronics uses- is really less sharp but way superior to rf.

  5. i adore this forum. This is how things should work

If this thread is your idea of how a forum should work, then that speaks volumes about you.

worst is doing Curt Vendel with the 7800 XM , yet every sheep there only praises him

while he writes a book :?

If you have a beef with Curt or the 7800 XM project, then post in that thread. There's no reason to bring that up here. Oh and Baaa...

Everyone needs to calm down and step back for a moment. There's a lot of hate being thrown around here and it's getting out of control (comparing people to Hitler? Really???) . If we can't all simmer down then I'll be forced to lock this thread and I don't want to do that since there's a legitimate discussion going on here.

    didn't mean the manners,

but people here claim for their rights

when i tried to contact Curt he Just answered that i may ask for a refund

    nice way to treat people...

and the 7800 forums are full of sheep -PacmanPlus is the nicest guy ever though-

    you can't touch their GOD

you CAN take 2/3 years to develop a project,

but can't put a preorder add on atariage and in your webpage

as it's about to ship within a month or two

    but then again,

    if that forum allows it...

  6. XM7800 - it's somewhat different - people jumped on board while development was still mid-phase, multiple people are working on it, and there was notification that there'd be a wait.

Sure, it's probably slipped a few times but the one huge difference is that there's regular status updates. And it's a somewhat more complex product as well.

SIDE - the hardware design is done, so the production work is just a case of get money, order parts, do assembly, ship out.

if you looked at Curt's Site , it was promoted as ready to ship over a year ago

  7. hello all

i was swamped with work, but since all my tasks are over (or at least we're behind the deadlines) i suppose i'll have some more free time this week

so far i've finnished with xilinx firmware for good (i've added 4 slots four "basics" and four slots for "missle command" (if used in xegs), and currently i'm working on bios update so it would be reflected and accessible from bios

once shipped, bios and pbi driver will be probably outdated, and an atari flashing utility will be provided to update them - all this is because Jon (FlashJazzCat) can't work any futher on the driver right now

i suppose to send him this two or three weeks ago, but i couldn't find the time in post office business hours :(

anyways, testing and making parcells begins tomorrow and i would like to see some boards shipped out before this week ends

lastly - here is an updated list

    Sebastian

Why am i not in the list if i paid a while ago for 1 for xegs?

  8. Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where Boulder Dash stands. I now have all the materials on hand to start shipping Boulder Dash. This includes:

    - Cartridge shells (recycled, cleaned and ready for use!)

    - Special Boulder Dash-specific Melody circuit boards

    - Labels

    - Manuals

    - Boxes

    - Box inserts

    - Polyethylene (plastic) bags (to protect the box!)

    - ...and two special bonus items that haven't been revealed!

I'm now hard at work assembling and testing Boulder Dash carts, with a goal to ship as many copies as I can by the end of the month. There are still roughly 50 copies available, so if you haven't picked up a copy of this great game, don't hesitate or you may lose your chance! You can purchase it in the AtariAge Store here:

    ..Al

Save some time for tempest 5200 please ;-)
