not as crisp as Longhorn's 2600 Mod
Really? I'm surprised.
in fact if you open FB2 you will see a very poor quality Chinese-like pcb
i'm surprised even some games work at all
The only good thing about Flashback 2 is its size and controllers.

I would say
Go for 1541 ultimate if you have the money, can even run easyflash carts, tapes and disk files
Or
The less expensive ide 64 can run 1 file games very fast
-
i've also found that on fat 32 partitions
SIDE loader can't see more than 256 files in a directory

how can i know where image mode stars?
This depends on what you did setup. Did you follow the manual of the MyIDE interface?
Do you use the latest/newest MyIDE interface or an older one? In case of an older one: does your MyIDE have the LS573 fix? If your MyIDE interface does not have an IC on it with the code "LS573" your MyIDE interface is not 100% compatible.
I'm also wondering: do you have a built in MyIDE EPROM in your Atari? Or are you using the Internal Version of Steven Tucker?
Did you update to the latest MYBIOS?
Lot's of problems in the past with this module..
do you mean lots of problems with trascend module or Atarimax cart?
He meant with the Transcend module. They are very 'critical' on timing, and they have a very minimal mass (ground), which is not a good thing. Anyway, with the LS573 fix also these Transcends work fine, since the LS573 fix is the missing part of the MyIDE interface. With that fix installed, the MyIDE interface is extremely rock solid.
Please follow all instructions in the MyIDE manual.
I'd almost say: it can't go wrong...
One more thing, as long as you are checking for the LS573 on your MyIDE... please make sure that there is a wire going from a +5V point of the MyIDE cart to pin 20 of the IDE interface.
even on a new sandisk 1gb card you can't get more than 256 images on image mode,
i think there's still a bug on the firmware

i really enjoy my Jag,
and always wondered if it was more powerful on 3D than 32x
polygon games look quite similar on both systems

Maybe when you release gauntlet you can make an Ataritris for me
Then my collection will be complete!
-
Would really want the atari color monitor if its in good condition
Pm me

Though the A8 is amazing,
you won't get the same retro-arcade experience the 5200 can provide
-
Hm lots of basic (and advanced) functionality is missing on the ZX, I think Mr Clive saved a few bucks (pounds) too many. Alone the lack of a 'real' typewriter layout keyboard was a huge mistake. Keys needed to share 5 functions. What else is missing? No sound, no colours, no joystick ports etc...
Ohhh, The Speccy
It
Still it has it share of amazing games,
And though the palette is very limited, the resolution is way better
Than c64 or even a8

Love everything Atari but still think the mighty 64 Rocks ...

-
nice scrolling. will try it today

I have a spare , new boxed one
Controls pretty well, unlike boulderdash 2 5200
Pm if you want it

Atari win Plus 4 rules...
-
if you take pacman plus out of the equation
there's nothing left in there for the 7800
the XM looks vaporware,
and no other games were showed in a long, long time
but
the 5200 could get 4 to 5 2012 new games!

let's see:
tempest
your game
Gauntlet
Cloack&Dagger

hi everyone!
wanted to know how big is image mode on myide?
tried even on a 1gb card
and
image mode gets corrupted after 250+ 2d images
i think its a firmware problem
tried with last 4.7.04 update aon an atarimax myide+flash cart
-
Tiger Attack XE is reasonably smooth.
Demos like Ripper, Embex, and FQ...are the only hope for more on-screen sprites.
nice demos,
screamings wings with enemies upgraded with this technology
could very well turn into a good 1942 game for the A8

-
i own and love the 7800 and CC2
not so much many people on those forums though

800 XL ofcourse. 5200 is just a collectors item, not something you really want to use.
Interesting. I play my 5200 more than any other computer or console I own.
Different strokes...That's just because it's so big it's always easy to find!

if you have a spare room ,
then go for the 5200 and an atarimax ultimate sd cart...

w
look on page 33 of that ...pdf for cyclinder head sector & then calculate with the formula for setting the image page and all the rest should be your's IF myide will even see it at all..

looks amazing as a collectible
not sure if i would ever play it though...

Always wondered it the Atari 5200 could render an acceptable version of 1942
even the "similar" game Screaming Wings on the XE is Awful,

can a better version even be done?
no it cant without the xm. no wonder the coleco kicked its ass!!
5200 XM? Where?
There's no 5200 XM
Jinks was just trying his best to be funny,
of course all he did was confuse people,
sorry
confuse? And thank you. just jabbing back from the 78 side..
your welcome.
i know , your sarcasm was just so clever!
and yes, you confused people ,
because not everyone reads the 7800's forum here,
and may think there's an 5200 XM in the works (oHH wait, maybe there is, you just have to give away 100 bucks to book writer's wannabees and wait like forever to get it)

F*** the 64..
in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Posted
didn't mean resolutions on paper,
put a c64 and a speccy game side to side
usually the spectrum version looks better , though mostly monochrome
