  4. well, sadly it looks like the replicade centipede was defective after all. the trackball stopped working. so i've contacted them, to see if they can fix it, or what the options are. later -1
  5. the only way to properly play it is with a controller. also, there's no depth to the game, once you get the maximum upgrades that's pretty much it. later -1
  6. well, although i'm still messing around with centipede replicade for a little bit longer, they will send you the USB upgrade cable free, if you register at their website. this only fixes the charging issue that the machine had: later -1

  10. its not pretty, but its playable, glens prototype into the atgames competition. at the 11 min mark, he shows the trackball version playing centipede, which is actually playable along with missile command, and marble madness: later -1
  11. PR interview with David mcintosh, - they are approaching 2 million units sold now: later -1
  12. Actually, they might not even be able to get the original ROM. It's more about not using the HD remaster to show it in 16x9, there are people that want it in the original 640x480 4:3 ratio. They also want to build a cabinet that looks more like the original, but probably without the the LED scoring. later -1
  13. year end discussion: Interesting talk: ============ 1 Supposedly dragons lair will be a more accurate looking version, same with the cab 2 still talking about an upcoming pro or ferrari cabinet 3 fixed patches coming to the partycades also (ms pac man) 4 at least 4-5 new cabinets at CES 5 more multigame cabinets coming out 6 most likely SF2 coming with online play a lot more pinball talk coming later -1
  14. rad rally has been added to outrun: https://arcade1up.com/pages/outrun-seated-arcade-cabinet-bonus-game-firmware-update later -1
  15. the replicade is a 1/6 scale or so cabinet, so it's not that tiny, like a 1/10 version like myarcade or basic fun, or a keychain version like tiny arcade. it just depends on the controls. the new sega astro mini has very decent controls compared to the snk mini, or the capcom mini. so it can be done, just don't scale things down to match. later -1
  16. mine was lightly used, again its not defective. it's just not very accurate on any of the settings. i'll post some videos showing the gameplay. later -1
  17. it's not that the parts are defective. they are not used to the usage of being moved or pushed thousands of times in one game. a regular button could withstand that usually, but these tiny mechanisms are not meant to be pushed that many times in several hours, so they are not going to hold up. same with the trackball, every single millimeter in movement of it, has to translate to pixels on the screen accurately and quickly with response time. so if its off a little bit, you will die constantly. i'm just surprised that even in short games, that people keep saying its accurate. i tried sitting and playing, lying down, and then i tried putting it up high, to stand and play it (looked funny), and then i tried hunching over, and every single time it was just too inconvenient to play it. eventually i found a really uncomfortable way to play, but as i said you have to keep taking breaks when playing it. ANYWAYS, the bottom line is it looks great on a shelf, don't expect to break any records as usual with these miniature machines. the dig dug 1/4 scale is better, because it's bigger, and it uses a joystick, which translates much better when using it on such a tiny machine. trackball and spinner games are an absolute disaster, and missile command will be also, when that comes out. later -1
  18. well, i got used to the turbo after the normal version couldn't be found, and poured money into that. i liked it because i could last a lot longer, and eventually after a few hours, could hit the killscreen. now, i'm playing the 'normal' version, and yes, its way more challenging. however, if you played the turbo version only in the arcade, thats what you would be used to. later -1
  19. my showcase of the Arcade 1up mod - to use the ATGAMES Namco Arcade Blast - 10 in 1 games: later -1
