wow, those games look tiny. how in the world are you supposed to play centipede and crystal castles on a watch. you can barely play them on a phone, and yes, i've tried. sorry, this whole thing is ridiculous.... but as a gimmick, and since there are other properties, people will still buy it. good luck, and let me know how that works out if anyone here gets it. yes, pong would work... not interested in that. later -1

there were analog versions of MAME that let you use a mouse, or trackball. i have an actual USB spinner, so it works great. later -1 -

what do you mean fails? it's already out, and on sale... so how does it fail? do you mean when atari releases it or before that? not sure what you mean... atari is already committed to it, so are you just predicting the future. later -1

its what you thought. a usb band, with the games prepackaged, and ready to play from it on pc/mac/linux probably will cost too much for too little.... anybody that knows how to install these wont care. later -1

i've noticed discrepancy with standalone titles. it all depends on what title it is, and whether it's a new port or not. there's no guarantee that leaderboard integrity will be retained. later -1

checked back, and the leaderboards are working as before. so they cloned the xbox 360 ones. still at the top of: =================== 1 joust 4.9 million 2 joust 2 10 million 3 defender 2 (stargate) 88k and in the top 7 of a lot of other games. later -1

this is now backwards compatible on the xbox 1, and available digitally for $20. not sure if the leaderboards are wiped, or the same as previously. will check it out at a friends house. later -1

Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

i wonder if anyone on the ps4 has all the achievements, i don't think anyone on the xbox does either. later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4
negative1 replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
most of those copies of atari vault were at $20, which is half the price it is now. so it's still significant. especially since it represents at least 50 times more copies sold. most namco retro games are all one player, who plays two player anymore? (they aren't online either).. too bad about the region issue, but why don't you just buy the physical versions? later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4
negative1 replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
considering about 20,000+ were sold on steam: http://steamspy.com/app/400020 thats not bad, but the consoles do lag behind, and yes retro games vary in popularity, the recent dig dug, pac man, galaga, ms pac man all did well. also, can't you just change your region, and buy whatever game you want on the console? later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

the numbers are similar on the xbox one also. although that might not be completely accurate. i know that a lot more were sold on steam for the pc though. later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4
negative1 replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
as i mentioned above in my other posts, there are alternate options. i have used paddles and trackballs, and it does help quite a bit. still have to adjust the sensitivity and other settings to get them to work. later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

ok, i've been testing the anthology on the xbox one with alternate controllers. as mentioned here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/253262-atari-flashback-classics-for-the-xb1ps4/page-5?do=findComment&comment=3534730 basically, i have a USB spinner, a USB trackball, and also joysticks to use... by the way, none of the in game options (except relative) have much effect. arcade games (only so far) ===================================== asteroids and asteroids deluxe, space duel - remapped these to buttons on the joystick, all of them play well centipede, millipede and missile command - using the trackball has resulted in much better play, but still haven't found the best settings for missile command super breakout, tempest and warlords - spinner, makes a huge difference and for fun, mapped sprint 2 - spinner, and was actually able to get much higher scores, and finish races playing with the analog stick, and d-pad is pretty terrible for most of the games, even with the options settings. there is just no feel for the games, like using better controllers. i haven't tried messing around with major havoc yet, but that and liberator are coming up also. later -1 -

i stand corrected, yes, there are options ---- standard - has glow bold - makes everything look fuzzy realistic - less glow no glow - no glow at high resolutions on the pc, everything looks very thin, but if you match the resolutions, then yes, they look good. i forget if there is a screen rotate option or not. later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

Yes, you can get achievements, and you can also alter all the other settings to make it easier. obviously, anything besides defaults disqualifies leaderboard scores. later -1 -

Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4
negative1 replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
under game options, some of the arcade games have a setting 'cheat mode - on / off' i was going to make a list, but only a few games have it. millipede has it also, which turns off collisions with everything except spiders. for tempest, it allows you to do a stage select up to level 81 later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4
negative1 replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
on a happy note, tempest arcade on the xbox 360 now has invisible levels proper. on the gameroom and other versions (although i'm not sure about the original tempest) the levels were rendered as white: good catch on fixing this (although i can't get there without using the cheat). later -1 -
