there are tons of reviews for this game, as it has been out for months now. http://www.google.com/search?q=pac+man+ce+2+reviews&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS569US569&oq=pac+man+ce+2+reviews&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l3j0l2.5347j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 basically - ===================== - more mazes - added bosses (?????) - now you can 'bump' into ghosts, instead of dying when you touch them - the ghosts follow certain paths when you eat an energizer, so you don't really have to figure out where they are going many more things to simplify the game for beginners - the ghosts will 'auto-group' together in chains for you to eat, so no skill involved with that either there might be demos for you to try it out before deciding. again, basically it's pac-man for beginners, there is no challenge left in the game. later -1

i mentioned it here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/213331-pac-man-championship-edition-dx/ i got it, tried it, and got rid of it after a few games. it was horrible, and not worthy of the pac-man name. too much dumbing down of gameplay, and emphasis on flash and graphics over gameplay. avoid. later -1

Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

agreed, there is no motivation or replay value for those, other than nostalgia. perhaps they can do an update and add them in. later -1 -
Atari Flashback Classics for the XB1/PS4

i've had a chance to try out both volumes on xbox 1. gameplay: ================================= all arcade games have a good translation, gameplay is similar to the xbox 360 ports in gameroom the atari 2600 gameplay is also the same as in gameroom graphics ================================= the graphics for the atari 2600 are good. the arcade versions also have good representation of the actual ones, however, since there are no options for the vector games, you don't get the same feel for the phosphor glow, and other effects. presentation ==================================== the menus, and marquees and graphics around the arcade games are all well done. asteroids deluxe even has the backdrop which looks great. options ===================================== the 2600 games are fine, nice touch on explaining the options in words as you go through them the arcade games are hit and miss, some have excellent options, including cheat codes (which is a surprise), others have barely anything extras ==================================== the manuals are hit an miss, some are very poorly scanned and hard to read, others are ok. leaderboards ================================= unfortunately, only the arcade games have them, and not the 2600 games, unlike all of them in gameroom controls ================================ overall, all the 2600 games are ok. the arcade games are hit and miss.. some have settings to adjust. most of the trackball games, are pretty poor..... and even spinner games are poor also.... OVERALL ======================== good presentation and good graphics on the 2600 games the arcade games are mosly hit and miss. i've noticed pretty low scores on all the arcade games leaderboards, and this is with a few hundred copies of it sold. it's a pretty average compilation, and unless you use alternate controls (i will be trying it out with my own external trackball and spinners), don't expect very good controls. for the price, unless you are a retro collector, this is your only option to get these games. later -1 -
Good article on why the Switch will be Nintendo's last gasp attempt at hardware if it fails. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/31/why-the-nintendo-switch-is-nintendoas-make-or-break-console

several people on the xbox one have it also. some of the achievements on both volumes are very hard. and one seems almost impossible (get to level 81 in tempest). good luck trying to get all the achievements. later -1 -

Midway Arcade classics coming to Lego Dimensions

ok so i got the game, and expansion pack. ===================================== it will take several hours to unlock everything. also, i finished the arcade level early, so i have to start over to get all the games. ======================= + there is a game hub, so you don't have to go hunting for all the unlocked games later on + yes, you get to fiddle with the characters + emulations are full, and well done ================ - i didn't build anything, you can just use the tags - no leaderboards - 3 of the games require to buy their expansion pack, so i won't be doing that. other than that, kids will enjoy. adults can go straight for the games, but it will still take time to get through the levels to unlock them. later -1 -
the only reason i see games disappear online is when the licensing issues run out (gauntlet, robotron 360, paperboy, etc on xbox 360). otherwise, if they can keep selling the games, and now thanks to backwards compatibility, they will never disappear.\ also, since the xbox 1 added backwards compatibility, and there likely won't be anymore future consoles from microsoft or sony. all future games should work on the xbox one, and ps4. later -1
-
a lot of 360 game patches are just little ones for network issues, or backwards compatibility. i can play every game i own, since i got my xbox 360 a year after it came out. i don't play any networked or online games. and the only patches i have gotten have been the type i mentioned above. later -1

they certainly have disappeared for all the people that have transitioned to cellphones, and tablets. (ultra casual gamers) which is a huge number. later -1
-
the vast majority of casual people use emulators to play retro games. why people on this board wonder about that is puzzling. in october of this year, a ton of atari 2600 and arcade games are coming out all over again for the ps4, and xbox one. they are already out on the pc, with this new compilation, and have been released several times. so basically, no one is forgetting any of the old games. and yes, people do care about old games, or they wouldn't keep selling them. the same thing happens with games from 20 years ago, and 10 years ago. pcs might disappear, but you will still be able to play them on mobile phones, tablets, and whatever new devices come out. later -1
-
and yet, 30 years later, pac-man just got re-released a few months ago, on the xbox 1, ps4, and pc? i don't think you guys understand the appeal of these games, and what emulators can do. later -1

if vr ever takes off, (and i will NEVER try it, due to wearing glasses, and dizziness). it doesn't really matter, because, vr, and ar helmets, can pass through pc games anyways, as seen in the video of NES emulator. http://www.windowscentral.com/hololens-running-your-favorite-nintendo-games later -1
-
here is information about it: http://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-unpublishes-nintendo-emulator it will always be in the windows store for pc's, (windows 8.1/10) and other systems, but they need to remove the xbox one capability for it to be listed. later -1

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+
negative1 replied to MH_Warrior's topic in Modern Console Discussion
well, it's been a while, but the CE DX 2 should be out in a couple of hours. looking forward to it.. will try out the pc version, and the xbox one at a a friends. lots of new changes. yes, it's dumbed down even more (bumping ghosts?), but still looks like a lot of fun. later -1 -
huh? i still have computers that are pushing 10-15 years old for playing games, and my current crop of XP, and windows 7 machines aren't going anywhere anytime soon, especially since i'm not upgrading to windows 10. i will hang onto these pc's as long as i possibly can. easily another decade or more. later -1

almost every steam game has a hack or crack for it. i'm not ever going to worry about steam going anywhere. especially, when they built in an offline mode for games. later -1

although i think arcade games are going on still.... new games get re-released all the time. my friend just got resident evil 4 for the xbox one, which is 20 years old, and there are plenty of other games series still going strong. so it is, and will be possible. later -1
