  1. Serves me right for not looking. Just assumed it went in like its pair. It’s even drawn on the PCB for crying out loud...
  2. Yeah, that or having looked at how the old one was, or looking at an image on google, or just not being stupid.. Anywho, took the chip out and reversed it, and it works again (and the issue is fixed). Thanks.
  3. F***, Seriously?? I actually made sure to orient it the same as the other one!
  4. Hey all, wondering if any repair experts can help me out with this one... I have a colecovision that had controller port symptoms, where for example in DK, fire button would activate on game start, and then not respond, although rest of directions/etc worked. Read that it was a faulty SN74LS541N, associated to the faulty port and attempted to change it. Well, I must have done something wrong, because now I get no startup screen at all, just black... I also noticed that the newly changed chip gets hot... not really sure why, or what this one has to do with video, unless I messed something else up. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
  5. Was there a rom pack somewhere here for the genesis and Atari portables?
  6. Yes, that’s me and added what i seem to have found about faulty RAM
  7. Hi all, Trying to do a bare metal bootstrap of my IIe with no luck Doing the audio transfer, and while I do get the transfer to finish with no apparent errors, whenever I hit 2000G (and by the way not sure why the program prompts tell you 2000 to load and then 2003 to run it?) I get the prodos text but a register dump line at the top.... I did get a normal run once, but then when I did the adt client transfer after doing 800G I again get a register line dump and it doesnt start Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Thanks guys, I had seen those and probably will get one, as I already had an RGB cable but it’s the one with the D connector for the 1084 monitor. Do you know if anybody sells any ready-made chroma/luma video cables to use with this monitor and the 128/64? (I know one could make it as well, but wondering about ready-made)
  9. Tell me about it! Yesterday trying this out I got International Karate... 14 minutes!!! Any recommended source for .cas files? You say .xex conversion is good when .cas is too long. Any CONS of just using .dex instead if .cas?
  10. Thanks, I can reach it now! I was told there are other programs to convert different type of files to.wav like .xex files..? How good/bad is that?
  11. Anybody know any alternate sources for any of these two tools? Sourceforge is down and cannot download anything
  12. Hi there! By any chance do you still have these available?
  13. Being compatible doesn’t necesarily mean it has to match 1:1, unless ALL pins were used (which isn’t the case).
  14. Yes, you are right I mixed the two up. So LCA, existing cables don’t work, you need a new one with the round din at the end, and all signals ( ideo and audio) into it. Rgb, just video (hence my original question) and goes back I guess to noboy thought of usong aidio with this mode
  15. Yes, the 1902A has a round din for RGBI that includes one pin for Audio, And also a round din for LCA which strangely has no audio input (so another pita, specially bedause I aready had cables with separate chrims/luna but with RCA connectors.....)
  16. Thanks for the suggestions, will keep it in mind, but I guess I’m still stuck with the original question: how dontou get RGBI + Audio? From the looks of it, only solution is a “double cable” with the RGB connector and the standard video port connector on one end using just the audio pin? (And doesn’t that port even get oferride. When you flip to 80 column mode?). It’s funny because the RGBI port on the minitor also has an audio pin.. Also of doubt is how when you want to use chroma/luma with the 1902 I guess you also need a special cable.
  17. Thanks, I had seen those already but was curious about the audio part. Seems pretty lame that you need two cables, but I guess their rationale was people would only use it for business stuff and not need sound? (Really stupid...) Also regarding the “switch” one you mention, I have one of those already but that one only switches between composite/color and 80 column but monochrome, and not RGB.
  18. Hi all, Recently got a hold of a Commodore 1902A monitor, and was looking at how to connect the 128 to it for RGB display. I will need to get a cable, sinne I already had one but for the 1084 type monitors with the D connector and not the round DIN one Anyway, while looking at the pinouta, I see that while the normal video port (the one just like the C64 port) DOES have audio on one pin, that the RGB port connector does not! So... how does one get RGB video *and* audio to the monitor...? Do you have to use TWO cables, or am I missing something..? Thanks!
  19. So if I keep the HK one, several things to fix and don't know where to start. But the Taiwan one, besides the fact that it's supposed to be worse, what do you see wrong with it?
  20. No.. this was not about price, it was about geography...
  21. Yeah I read that too but only in one place, which is the post pointed at by hcmffm right above here so not really sure. Id love to keep both but the whole process of getting the purchase authorized was to get two so selling one pays for both (I am in south america and prices here are wayyyy more expensive, to that is actually feasible).
  22. Hi all, I have two vectrex systems, and despite not really wanting to I have to get rid of one. Trying to decide which one I should keep after reading a lot about hong kong vs taiwan, serial numbers, buzz and no buzz, fonts, etc ... These are the two units: Unit1 Made in Hong Kong Serial is 0091548 Does not have the buzz sound (it does crackle a bit when adjusting volume) Screen seems to be *a little* offset downwards, and while I don't notice it in games, it is noticeable if you load up for example the Sean Kelly multicart, where you can only see a fraction of the controls indication line (1 up, 2 down, etc. ) Font is (As I believe all hong kong models?) a little smaller and more compact, I really like that font better One of the tests from the test cart rev 4 does not seem to be correct. The deflection protect one, the square starts off really small, and not the size of half the screen as it is indicated it should. Controller has a small scuff mark close to the rounded edge Unit 2 Made in Taiwan Serial is 107546 A Has the noticeable and distinct buzz Font is larger/uglier? Position seems to be ok (I am no expert to know if its *perfect* but looks ok) Does not seem to have any issues with the test cart tests. The deflection protect test goes as I believe it should, showing nothing for a few seconds and then the square that takes up about half the screen in size and gradually gets bigger Aesthetically it is a tiny bit better. Any feedback on all above mentioned points is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
