Supposedly some people have gotten away with that for a time. I realize I'm unlikely to incur Nintendo's wrath (they're apparently responsible for eBay's and PayPal's policies here). Still, there won't be a PayPal link for this on the LTO products page.

Sounds good that no linky, but would appreciate if you could nake it available discretely for us international buyers for whom things like checks or money orders are just not possible :(

  2. I think you get my point without having to resort to blatant sarcasm and I DID mention real neo get hardware several times but let's face facts arcade hardware is arcade hardware ... An arcade monitor is an arcade monitor. The stuff inside makes little difference to me if it runs right ... The reason we love using flash carts on co soles is becuase we like the feel. I defy you to find any difference with a neo group cabinet turned into a semi MAME can that emulates he rest of the games not found on the 100in1 carts

    It's the SAME

You really don't have to be a smart ass, my point was really obvious and I think you know better than to think that I think emulators are real hardware. I was talking about the playing experience being as real as possible

    Sheesh

Sure, of course I can sum it up for you in two words:

    Blue screen :P

  3. Not sure I even see the point of a neo

Geo cart becuase the idea is to play stuff on real hardware right ? We can do that on MAME cabs baby... Have one in my living room and it runs the neo geo /capcom stuff flawlessly within a margin of error that is so negligible it doesn't matter ... I have a consolized arcade board and the 100in1 cart is pretty sweet and covers almost all

My favs so really I don't think a neo geo cart is that crucial since anyone can make a name cabinet and even et a neo geo cab and get the 1001in1 for it and use emulation for the rest.

Uhmm you do know that's NOT the real hardware right..?

The idea is to play on the ORIGINAL hardware, not just "hardware"... (You do know that MAME is an *emulator*?)

Playing on an emulator pretty much defeats the purpose of what people want flash carts for...

  4. Alternate to belt which should work, one of those cassette adaptors with 3.5mm stereo plug which allows feeding aux audio into car tape players.

They used to be a bit pricey like 30 bucks but I got one for about 3 bucks since they're prettymuch unwanted items.

Thanks, but the whole point is to test some games I have on tape.

  5.

Hi, I have an atari 130 XE, and an XEGS, and two XC12 drives.

I have some games I wanted to test, mostly to sell because I don't really care for them and I purchased a MyIDE II.

Anyway, seems neither of the tape drives work, and I suspect it could be the belts, but I can't seem to find any listings for replacements?

I know probably it's me not looking correctly, but can someone point me in the right direction..?

  6. After spending much of the night reading up on DS flash carts over at GBATemp.net I ended up ordering an original R4 card with a 2 GB Sandisk Micro SD card from a reputable US based shop. The total came to $19.49 shipped, and for that price I think I'll have a lot of fun with it. I really just want it to expand my DS Lite's capabilities to play original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, NES, and Sega Genesis games in addition to it's native GBA and DS compatibility; and with the Wood R4 firmware it should do just that. I'm also digging the homebrew software that will let me run the original PC Doom WADs in all their glory on my DS Lite. That should beat the pants off of the GBA version of Doom that I usually play! :D

If I end up getting a lot of use out of my R4 and want a flash cart for the current generation of New 3DS systems I can always save up and get a more expensive cart like the DSTwo, which will have enough extra memory to run GBA and MAME games and can sneak around the current 3DS anti-piracy software. But that would be an $80 investment after the cost of a big 32 GB Micro SDHC card, so for the time being I'm just going to play around with R4 and see if I end up using it enough to warrant shelling out the big money for a more powerful flash cart.

I got a DSTwo for my DS XL, best cart ever IMHO, especially for GBA emulation.

Just fyi, AFAIK there are no cartridges for current 3DS systems, unless you get one with old firmware version ( I think 9.2 or below) otherwise you're screwed on that for now..

  7. Thanks for all the info!

I think I will either need to get a floppy disk or start with the cffa3000 because I only had one disk included and it seems it was damaged in transit (it was sticking out of the drive when I received it).

When booting I get "cannot boot prodos". First I thought it was prodos disk (as in the OS) but the lable said it was a copy utility. Now I suspect it's a prodos based program or something like that? Noobs...

Edit: had forgotten to attach screnshot before. Added now.

  8. Thanks for the reply!

While waiting I found more basic stuff and ine of the lines did have the command you said "GR" and using that routine managed to get some color stuff (attached new screenshot).

From what I see my apple has the monitor/memory expansion card, the floppy card and seems it has a serial card too.

Now for transfering images though, wouldn't thatne easier with the CFA3000 i already bought? (Or even rendering the need moot?).

What command do I use to for example list the disc contents of the main drive and then the second drive that is connected to the first one?

  9.

    Hi all,

Picked up an Apple IIe enhanced, with two Apple 5.25 disk drives.

While I did get a CFFA3000, I want to play around with it as is first to learn the ropes...

I connected it for now to an LCD tv through the built in composite, shows up as "Apple //e" on boot so, so far so good

    Some basic Questions for now:

    1) after prompt and boot logo, seems to be all black and white. Is this correct?

    2) cursor is not solid but chequered. What's up with that?

    3) tried a very simple program (not even program, statements on a single line)that were supposed to draw color bars but instead of thag I get different chaeacters? What am I doing wrong? (See screenshot attached).

    Thanks!

  10.

Long story short, I am from outside the US and have a TI that needs repairs that I cannot take back home with me.

The TI turns on, game carts seem to work, but some ram chip seems to be bad and needs replacing (see my "help with broken TI" thread in this forum).

I will gladly send this to anyone willing to pay just shipping. You would have to "order" a shipment from where I am (zip 77380) to your location, so I can print out the label, slap it on the box and get it out to you.

Whoever PMs me first we can arrange and it's yours.

Has to happen tomorrow or friday morning tops, as Ileave friday afternoon.

    Cheers!

  11. Well the 3DO is only one year older than the PS1 (1993 for the 3DO, 1994 for the PS1); plus, the 3DO is an underdog console, with 2 millions unit sold worldwide, and most of his (tiny) library is utter crap, and the good titles have usually been ported to the PS1 or were PC titles. (and do'nt get me wrong here, I own a 3DO, and I like this console, and would LOVE to see homebrews for it)

On the other hand, the PS1 was sold between 1994 and 2005, sold 100 millions of units, and have hundred of memorable games.

That would be like the NES receving no support, emulation, homebrews, etc...

To me, it's just amazing that nothing like the PSIO was ever made, when it could have been made 10 years ago.

See, all I read there was "blah, blah, blah blah blah"... :P

    Who's cooler looking? FZ-1, no contest.. :D

Edit: aldo, 10 years aho the info wasn't that widespread as it is today, was it?

  12. Hey folks. Sadly my trip to the US (which starts today) is only for a few days, and could't get to take look and order these in time.

As such, and since the seller refunded the cost of the item anyway, and I already got another TI when he did, I will go ahead and give the TI away to anyone that wants it and is willing to pay shipping.

Just PM me and create a shipping label? (If fedex better, I have a fedex store across from my hotel if not I'll look for a ups drop off?).

Should be from my location 77380, to yours, and I'll paste it o. The box and get it out to you this week.

    Cheers!

  13. You can add that the PSIO is rather easy to install, and if I'm right, bypass any region lock, so you can play anything on it that isn't special.

Plus, we're kinda at the beginning of the research on PS1 "SD card" tech.

Until recently, on most retrogaming forums, the PS1 was treated with disdain, being considered like the symbol of the downfall of "real games" to "casual games", wasn't considered retro, etc...

So now with things like the PSIO that kinda feel like a step back to the Cuttle Cart era and .wav converted VCS files for the Supercharger, we only start to catch up to a lack of interest that was purely based on snobbery; if you consider that a SD card based solution had been available for the Dreamcast for years, despite the DC being much more recent.

I mean, even the 3DO had a CD-ROM to IDE drive adapter BEFORE the PS1 got such an accessory. It's madness.

Why would it be madness when the 3DO is older than the PS..?

  14. Got it thanks to both. Definitely got confised and forgot carts have their own mem in itself.

Regarding testing tried that cart and thisnis what appears as seen in the attached screenshots.

Now I'm leaving for a friens's for lunch and left the atari on with the cart.

Will see if it's still good when I return and re-test.

  15. It's strait forward. Just press the test # and start to run a test. Start brings you back to the menu. I don't see anything in your reports that indicate there is a thermal issue, but it wouldn't hurt to run the test's, leave the machine running a while, then re-test. I was having problems with my 5200 and I found the CPU was getting flaky as it warmed up. It took about 1/2 hour before symptoms started.

Ok, giving it a try in a few mins...

BTW, re:your comment "atari has only 16k", so the bigger 32K carts were doing a whole lot of swapping..?

  16. Nope. The 5200 has 16k. It has tests for RAM, ROM, CPU, ANTIC and GTIA. Try them all and report back.Regards,Perry

Hmm ok, haven't gotten a chance to test it just yet, but it sounds similar to the test carts I already tried which had those, but I can't see any errors. Maybe I need to find proper instructions since I may be testing wrong?
