  1. Not my video:

I searched the forums and couldn't find anything. I must be getting senile in my old age - I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to pair the joysticks to the FB9 Gold via Bluetooth until I found the video. The Bluetooth pairing insert in the package was barely readable and confusing.

(Off-topic) At least they included an HDMI cable in the box.

Edit: Apologies to Bill Loguidice for the negative comment regarding AtGames. It was not meant to offend (admittedly it was not in good taste) but to comment on how the clarity of the instructions could have been improved. I have removed the offending remark.

  2. Can someone please post a link to the PacMan 4k Rom that works on the portable so we know which one works? There are two different authors and several revisions. Thanks in advance!

Uncompress the rar file and make sure you follow the naming convention. i.e., capital then lower case letters and ending with .bin

I just picked mine up this weekend from a not too distant US parcel center and I have to say that the Atari Flashback Portable is a fairly neat device for what it is, especially with all the titles, including homebrew and hacks, that actually work with this system using a SD card. Hopefully the next iteration will improve upon the compatibility. (And yes, mine was direct from AtGames with Space Invaders. ;))

I would be curious. Here are some pics I took of mine pre-production model to see what would be possible. I want to add a joystick port too. :D

Is the battery the same as the Sega Genesis Ultimate Portable Game Player battery? Could we buy replacement batteries for the Atari Flashback from AtGames by getting the Ultimate Portable Lithium batteries?

  4. I don't have my portable yet, so I can't test this awesome Wizard of War hack that is 16k and allows you to select the left joystick for player one:

I believe there is a 4k hack elsewhere; I just haven't search for it yet. (Still can't find it... Just the supercharger conversion by Nukey that starts with 2 player mode.)

There is no issue with Atari or any other licensee. It was a simple manufacturing delay.

Also, no need to speculate unnecessarily. The other product is still in development (still working on optimizations and bug hunts), so it missed its November window. I can't go into details still, but it's not Atari related, although will influence the overall hardware line-up in 2017.

Ooo... the mystery continues... :) I originally thought it would be Atari arcade games but it's not Atari related...

  6. Was there a reason given for the change of the game lineup? Licenses expired? Surely not because of lack of space!

Also, is it possible that these early versions of the Atari Flashback Portable in the field are sort of tester units for the fans (us) and AtGames is seeing what our responses are; i.e., not happy with compatibility issues, and they are making corrections to the portable and thereby delaying the release further to make a better product? (Wishful thinking for this year; maybe next year. Plus, I would like to see a sturdy combined joystick-paddle instead of a d-pad.)

Why else have a shortage right before the holiday shopping season? Maybe Atari found out about the SD slot and got upset and halted production?

Conspiracy theories and I should make a tinfoil hat to wear!

Plus, no mention by Bill of the "other" product that was supposed to be released in November, or did I miss that...

  7. Huge Spoiler (since you have been so diligent and close before):

I guess someone is going to find it and post it all over the internet, so it might as well be bradhig doing it right here...

(Wow... 11+ years since this thread started... where has my time gone?)
