I'd better stop staring at my new fish tank and get to "work"...

Nukey Shay's Hack'Em and Haunted Adventure Trilogy use the b/w switch as a pause toggle.

FB2 disappeared from Atari.com

Or certain game authors sending you game documents with non-American spellings and documents with graphics links to non-existent directories... -
FB2 disappeared from Atari.com

Some the the prototypes, like Save Mary, need even more explanation than the manual was able to give (as discussed elsewhere in these forums) so others sources, like http://atariprotos.com/ can give more insight into how to play the prototype games included, or check out the FAQ here at AA. -
On e-bay, no doubt. I haven't seen one in retail since before Christmas here.

What is the best way to open a sealed game?

Don't take any chances with that blasted shrink wrap. Fire the wave-motion gun! -
My MULE arrived yesterday. I haven't played for awhile so I'll have to RTM and refresh my memory, but the game looks great! Maybe I can convince someone else around here to play... Thanks Bryan!

I'm not sure where (the) Trotter(s) is (are) right now. I'd have to check Weston's site to see what's up.

Picked up another 2600 , 6-switch , colors are completely wrong

Using colloquial terms helps people to understand the basics of the operation, which is trying to fix a "broken" Atari, but thanks for the education, nevertheless. -
Which FB2 Rev do I have ?
atwwong replied to Hendra's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Welcome to the forums! Looking at the picture in this post, it appears that you have a RevC board. Kokovec or Curt can correct me if I'm wrong. There are links to how to do the mod in the FB2 Instructions, Mod Links, FAQ, & FB2 Portable thread. I haven't seen pictures of a RevC mod, but the connections are indicated in the links for the RevA and RevB mods. RevC would be the same; the locations are different, but they are labelled. Cheers, Tony -
what do you want the FB3 to be?
atwwong replied to gamer1682's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Welcome to the forums! You've posted some great ideas that the Atari executives should think about. In case you haven't read it, see the thread Question - FB2 Portable? However, a new full-sized 2600 with the ability to play carts would be an awesome product, IMHO. Damn the "dirty/old carts won't work liabilities" excuse! -

This might help since you've already opened up the system: Ian's post in How do you determine what's burned out? Ian's info worked for me and saved me $$ from sending my system (that I purchased from e-Pay ) to a repair shop. If you are careful, try switching your Vader TIA chip with the 6-switch TIA chip. IIRC, both systems have socketed TIA chips, so carefully lifting the chips from both ends with a flathead screwdriver will work. If the colours work in your 6-switch after the switch (pardon the play on semantics ), then order a new TIA chip from Best Electronics. -
LOL, hey Shawn, I had Trotter #2 for over a year and I just sent him back to Weston last month! It could have been sent to you if I knew you were supposed to host it. Oh well...

The latest craze must be resurrecting old threads; however, this brings back some pleasant memories...

FB2 disappeared from Atari.com
atwwong replied to Paul Humbug's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Umm. No. Basicly I talked to my contact in charage of that and mentioned that the FB main page was the only link to the manual, so they put the page back up. Its an all or nothing deal, as everything is "shopping cart" based until the new version of the Atari site is up. So the purchase section had to be put back up even though they are *not* selling any more.I still had the FB2 manual linked in the FB2 FAQ, so if one searched enough, it could have been found. However, the situation is improved with the link on the Atari web site. -
Ah well,MULE may have come and gone, but I could always pick up some sort of haunted adventure....in trilogy format! Thanks for the subtle plug!

Re: our PM's, payment made! Looking forward to playing MULE! Cheers, Tony

Before you do that (and I would recommend a 4 switch because the cart slot will work easily with all games), are you handy with a soldering iron? Open up your 2600 and check if the slot (the power jack) that the power supply plugs into the console is loose. If so, a tiny bit of soldering to improve the connection is all that you may need. Instructions to open up the console are posted in the forums; just remove all the screws from the bottom of the console and gently separate the top from the bottom, being careful with the console switch area. Everything that comes apart can be put back together if you take care. Replacing the cartridge connector (if that is what is causing the problem) is more difficult; I haven't attempted that yet.
