+++ This is a great idea, Jose! This auction has been a lot of fun to watch. It got me to start bidding on some other Atari items, albeit nowhere near 31.6K.My purpose in life is to archive as much Atari 2600 related items as possible for a Atari 2600 ONLY museum in the future. It is my opinion that the Atari 2600 put video gaming on the map....without the 2600 who knows where video gaming would be today. Moreover, the Air Raid box now adds validity to the background of Air Raid (how ironic that it is going back to its birthplace of Los Angeles, CA). I am glad that I got it and will take very, very good care of it.
Thanks to brandonwright for posting the final minute - I had to take the wife to see a movie and missed it... And thanks to Tanman for finding the box in the first place. And if this is an April Fools joke there will be hell to pay...

I had nothing better to do browsing around ebay and I'm not sure how I came across these blueprints for the Atari 2600 joystick:
eBay Auction -- Item Number: 220564798167
The auction ended earlier with the seller canceling. Has anyone heard about these before?

It's the in thing, nowadays...This thread has been highjacked by nerds!!!
hehe just kidding
This whole WEBSITE is full of nerds

I'm a geek not a nerd!

I'm both, and proud of it!

Curt, thanks for the update! (Heh, posting upwards
)Cheers,
Tony
Only the first 15,000 were made, no more have been done, so they are part of that allotment.

I wonder if the FB2+'s at Canadian Costco stores are part of the initial 15,000 run or if they are an additional run...

Added information regarding the Flashback 2+ in the FAQ section and a link for Harmony Cart mod info in the MODS section.

Although it doesn't seem too popular, I actually quite enjoy this game, especially the two player version. It can get quite hilarious...

I like how Curt used the later prototype binary with the neat title screen vs. the FB2 version. There are other updates to binaries that others have mentioned as well. Maybe it's time for me to update the FAQ.

It has to be be the real deal. A fake ebay auction on such a valuable Atari item would also ship to Canada, not just the US...

-
(Apologies for the DP) Apparently, I wasn't the first who noticed:
Here is an interesting discussion of someone discovering the FB2+ at Costco.
They go on to reminisce about other old school gaming consoles; an interesting read from others' POV's.

It's nice that we Canadians can finally get our hands on a FB2+ in stores after missing out on the pre-orders at the Atari site.My sister told me that our costco here winnipeg have them too!

I found a bunch of Flashback 2+'s at the Costco in Richmond, BC retailing for under $30. Apparently they have been there since Friday. Needless to say that I am now a very happy camper and I thank Atari for making them available in Canada. I left 13 units behind because I was in a sharing mood...

Someone please post if they see a FB2+ up here in Canada.

Yea its hard to jump on board and buy a company's product when they, you know, WON'T LET YOU!The site said:"Not available on atari.com for your area."
That's pretty lame.
I get the same message here in Canada.
Not available in some areas?? Y'all, I'm discovering the power of having a tax ID, so I might become a smallish distributor for it. Stay tuned, I'll see what happens. I'll ship ANYWHERE.
Sounds like a plan...

Thanks Albert for getting Haunted Adventure Trilogy and the other games published. Looking forward to the AtariAge Store going online to the general public. Cheers!

If you got one you'll get a SUPER CHARGED(-D+R) game collection out of it...I want to know what the special gift is!!
-
My Harmony cart arrived today and so far everything looks great. Thanks for the special gift!
I'll have more time to play with it next month since I'm very busy with work, but excellent job to all those involved this this awesome project! Also, very tidy and speedy shipping, since I only ordered it this past weekend!
-
"rare" meaning roms not available?Oh, and I will agree with others that the harmony cart will likely slow enthusiast players (as opposed to serious collectors) from doing much cart collecting. I have about 100 carts. I'm unlikely to pick many more up now unless I know they're rare. -
Thanks for putting up the website. I finally ordered a harmony cart!
I'm looking forward to all the fun that I'm missing out on. Hope I get a special gift...Cheers,
Tony

Awww... craptacular! This is awesome news! I still have my FB2 with box, and hook it up for play every now and then...
LATER: aw, only available in the US... :-(
(We Canadians always get the shaft for these special releases.)
-
Hi batari,
I'm a bit late to the game and have quickly skimmed through all the posts - please let me know how I can order a deluxe harmony cart. Should I just wait until the website goes up?
Cheers,
Tony

Just add on the actual cart connector for us butterfingers and be done with it!FB3 is being dusted off once Christmas and the holidays are past...
In the meantime, "if" a new console were to come out, "perhaps" it might have some new titles on it, "perhaps" it might be a bunch of titles not used in previous FB iterations, "perhaps" it might be called something like "FB2+"
"if" something was being worked on...
Curt

Flashback 2+'s now lower cost on shipping...

If you know someone with a Canadian Costco membership they should still be able to pick up one for you.
