  1. Thanks for explaining things, Lord Thag!
  2. This is great! Something to show all those Windoze users... Errr.. wait, nevermind that... (The flag parts remind me of giant Warlords shields...)
  3. Much better than I could ever explain it!
  4. Converting hex to binary for the castle rooms (your example), ; left zeros(not ;reversed counted) middle right(reversed) .byte $F0,$FE,$15 ;XXXXXXXXXXX X X X R R R RRRRRRRRRRR ; 1111 0000 1111 1110 0001 0101 .byte $30,$03,$1F ;XX XXXXXXX RRRRRRR RR ; 0011 0000 0000 0011 0001 1111 .byte $30,$03,$FF ;XX XXXXXXXXXXRRRRRRRRRR RR ; 0011 0000 0000 0011 1111 1111 .byte $30,$00,$FF ;XX XXXXXXXXRRRRRRRR RR ; 0011 0000 0000 0000 1111 1111 .byte $30,$00,$3F ;XX XXXXXX RRRRRR RR ; 0011 0000 0000 0000 0011 1111 .byte $30,$00,$00 ;XX RR ; 0011 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 .byte $F0,$FF,$0F ;XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ; 1111 0000 1111 1111 0000 1111 It's not impossible, but takes a lot of converting. It may be easier (and save you lots of time) to upgade your ram to at least 512MB to convert with CYOA's graphics tables. (I know that Nukey used the lower-bit zeros to read double or single rows in his higher rez 8kAdvent; he helped me use even higher numbers for HAT.)
  5. I was going to say play around with CYOA but I see that you posted that you could get it working on your computer. What OS are you using and what are your computer specs? If you search the hacks forum, you will find numerous posts re: Nukey Shay and all his adventures with adventure. He helped me to create what eventually became the Haunted Adventure Trilogy (shameless plug); with all his posted info in this forum on Adventure, it should keep you busy reading for quite a while. CYOA is fun to play around with, but the real fun comes with playing with the assembly language code and using the DASM compiler to make your own binaries. If you get good enough with it, you can start making your own code, but that takes a lot of work to learn. The important thing is to have fun doing it, IMO.
  6. Canada Post finally came through yesterday - a pleasant surprise, despite the usual cross border delays I am happy as always with Al and the service from the AtariAge Store (and I wasn't even paid to post this )! Now I have to find some time to play around with my new Kroko Cart!
  7. Batari, thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!
  8. I purchased this issue because Al (the other one) did a review on HAT which he gave me permission to post here. I enjoyed reading the entire newsletter with all the Atari related info and will be subscribing to the 2600 Connection.
  9. No, he has to ask the owner of the physical media...the prototype itself. Tempest keeps the ROMs of many prototypes for archival purposes, but in many cases he does not physically own them. Many people kindly give me roms to prototypes so I can examine them and do my reviews. Sometimes they don't want the rom to be distributed and give it to me on the condition that I don't release the rom. Then again, some people don't care one way or the other and wouldn't mind the rom being released. I'll have to check my records to see what the owner of the Mystery Mansion prototype wanted (I honestly don't remember who the owner even is anymore). People trust me with prototype roms because they know that I'll keep my word about not releasing them and I won't violate that trust. Incidentally I own almost no 2600 prototypes at this point. Gee, I WONDER what happened to them? I did release those roms when I owned them however. Tempest Hey Tempest, I recall that Chris Cotter had the prototype of Mystery Mansion. Cheers, Tony
  10. Happy for the holidays! Got my order in... need to get some sleep now...
  11. Great, glad to hear it arrived in Australia safely! ..Al Since Canada is so much further away than Australia, more oceans need to be crossed, and we've got a free trade agreement, I'll be expecting mine in about 1.5 to 2 weeks. Long live Canada Post! 5-11under Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous. Hope it arrives soon for you! ..Al Here here! I'll post when mine arrives as well...
  12. Hey Dennis! Congrats! Thanks for letting me be part of the fun. It was well worth the time trying to figure out all the little buggy phantoms - I mean ghosts... Cheers, Tony
  13. I will be sending email to everyone tomorrow--meant to do that today but never got around to it (it's near the top of my list for tomorrow, though). Yours was shipped. ..Al Thanks Al! I received the e-mail! Just have to wait a bit longer up here in the Great White North... (really, it's snowing here today!)
  14. Me thinks me paid in time, at least PayPal told me so...
  15. If I see one for under $1.00 I might waste my money on this Basic Fun "product"...
  16. If original VCS's sold for this much back then and we all had enough money (as kids), imagine the stash of Atari's that we would all have today (my original from 1980 is still working just fine)...
  17. I bought Sam and Max Season 1 retail. Gametap is worth supporting (unlike a certain company that makes only Star Wars games ) - the Sam and Max series are very refreshing adventures to play.
  18. In light of this... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=1394682 ...I'm keeping this thread as a sticky, for now...
  19. Corey is probably just busy with RealLifeTM
