I am selling limited editions on ebay, am I a criminal?
atwwong replied to lucifershalo's topic in Atari 2600
Maybe in the future I'll post an "Online Edition" version of the rom; right now I don't want to spoil it for anyone playing the HAT easter egg contest. -
Congrats to the winning bidder! I hope it is thoroughly enjoyed! I feel like HAT is all grown up now, having been auctioned off on ebay.

Chiming in a little late. I like the debian binaries for Stella; right now I'm feeling lazy about compiling the z26 source to linux. I still use z26 in Windoze because of the accuracy as many others have mentioned.

Thanks for the review! I'll have to get a copy of revival! -

I was implying with my that HAT had reached a milestone of sorts: that it was being offered on ebay. That's all. I didn't mean for you to feel bad about your choice of what to do with your games. Cheers, Tony -
Not mine, anymore!!! (Well, at least not that one!)

It comes in two-port and four-port flavours!!! (I also like the nifty rainbow under the system name.)

Well, THAT sure came out of the blue. Who woulda thought? You should probably add Haunted house to the list, you know? Maybe Superman? I was feeling kinda lazy, so I just replied about my favourite game type, or I could've said "Haunted Adventure!" <--- insert blatant plug.

Adventure!

Although I played it on the Apple ][, Akalabeth is one of the first games I enjoyed/was frustrated with, along with the Infocom games, namely Zork I, II, and III on the IBM PC.

That would be me. Now that I use Kubuntu as my main OS, I figured Stella should get the first-class Debian treatment Although Stella is in the Ubuntu repositories, it doesn't seem to be updated very often. Maybe I should speak to the maintainer about that. Thanks stephena! Even though I figured out how to make Stella 2.3.5 work under Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu) I find it much more convenient having the Debian binary available (versus looking around for libraries, etc.). The respository maintainers should use the work you've already done (=avoid duplication) so that more Linux users can enjoy more accurate (=your updated version works with HAT ) 2600 emulation. (okay, I'm rambling on - I need to get some sleep!)

Whomever did the Ubuntu versions, many thanks!!!

Now, now, Jonathan, that would be telling... Cheers, Tony

homebrew easter eggs? (have they all been found?)
atwwong replied to godzillajoe's topic in Atari 2600
The third one's the best, IMO! BTW, I added more to the Haunted Adventure Trilogy, including an "ultimate" one to be found for the HAT "Ultimate" Easter Egg Contest. -
Thanks! Medieval Mayhem now playable online JStella starts up under Safari, but seems to be unable to find the ROM. Works fine under Firefox. I've also noticed the shield freezes when the left mouse button is used to capture a fireball - use the right-arrow-cursor-key to capture them instead. That is fantastic! I think I will set this up so all the homebrew games can be played in the store in this fashion. The JStella setup on AtariTimes doesn't work for me (in Firefox) but your page does, so that's the first I've seen it in action. Now to figure out the controls. ..Al Online demos/games are a fantastic idea!!! This is a terrific piece of work! Congrats to all involved. Please keep up the great work! Gregory and Darrell - thanks for hosting the online games! BTW, it works well with Firefox on my WinXP.

I can confirm that it works for me as well! Thanks, Tony

Many Thanks John! Once again , Thanks John. Unfortunately, it crashes on me immediately after double-clicking on PCAEWIN.EXE AppName: pcaewin.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: pcaewin.exe ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00025d5b JL What OS are you running/what is your system configuration? I'll take a look at it to see if I can learn anything. I've started the process of redesigning how instances of PCAEWin will talk to each other, starting with the sockets layer. I think I have something that's pretty robust and generic, though I'll of course have to test it. Still, step one of the redesign is pretty much done. I'll be working my way up the protocol stack one step at a time... I get a similar-but-different error: AppName: pcaewin.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119 Offset: 00012a5b I edited the PCAEWIN.INI file before starting PCAEWIN.EXE, and set the various directory paths to the ones I'm using. Does it have to be in C:\emu\2600? Because I'm using C:\Atari\2600 as the main one (and using various subdirectories off of it, keeping their names the same as what was already in the PCAEWIN.INI file). PCAEWIN itself is in C:\Atari\2600\Emus\PCAE\2.7b (since I already had an older directory named 2.7). What about DirectX, do I really need to use DirectX 5, or can I use 9.0c? Should I copy the various .dll files anywhere, or just leave them in PCAE's directory? I'm on Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2. Michael IIRC, PCAEWin 2.7 will crash on Windows machines using Hyperthreading. I set the bios of a hyperthreaded Intel chip which was crashing PCAEWin to non-hyperthreaded (sorry if I'm using all the wrong terms) and PCAEWin worked properly. I cannot find the original post where this was discussed, but taking a shot in the dark, does this have anything to do with the way the PCAE 2.7 binary was compiled? Cheers, Tony
