  1. I would say if someone posted their gamertag here it would be OK to send them an friend request. Just be sure to tell them that your from Atari Age in the message box so they will know who you are or where your from. I sometimes get random friend requests and delete them on sight if there is no message telling me how they know me.
  2. 06 is a lot closer to 05 in gameplay. I do prefer 07 to 06 only because the putting is much harder and I can't routinely sink 50+ footers. Other than that 07 just adds some graphical candy and some different ways to hook and slice and such. I also heard from a friend who got 07 for the regular xbox that the game had no world tour mode - you know the mode where you challenge the made up and pro golfers. Boo EA Boo. He was really bummed and just plays 06 instead. So don't get 07 for the xbox 1.
  3. Another nice feature in Oblivion for the casual or first time RPG player is the difficulty slider. If your playing and get stuck at a point you can always lower the difficulty for that dungeon and when your out of the jam crank it back up to normal. It's a really great feature that more games should incorporate. It's nice for eliminating the frustration factor that can happen in a game.
  4. Played Crackdown for about three hours tonight. Co-Op rocks. Every single game made from now on should have online co-op. Makes the game so much better - when someone finds a new gun and you meet up somewhere to see what kind of damage it can do. Really fun and the orb collecting is actually well done. You can easily run around and grab some easy agility orbs but for those who are completists or want max stats it gets harder. Finding a way to the top of some building is a great challenge and quite fun. It reminds me of prince of persia's platforming sequences. Only thing I'd like to add would be four-player co-op. I'm not sure if Crackdown is a system seller but if you already have a 360 it's a good buy.
  5. BestBuy Ad for crackdown For those too lazy to click.... I must have exceptional reading comprehension because I had no trouble understanding it and saw through all the shady attempts to make me think the disc came with a preloaded and ready to play version of Halo3.
  6. Exactly. Is MS using the Halo name to try and help sell a few more crackdowns? Yes. Is there anything wrong with this? No. Some will buy the game just for the beta. Some will also enjoy the game. Either way the consumers get what they want. Damn MS. Them giving the consumers what they want.
  7. How is waiting until a game is good enough to ship abusing your customers? Maybe I'm reading the post wrong or missing something. Hello anyone? Bueller?.....Bueller?
  8. I've got just under 200 hours logged on my character. I think the only game I have more time logged on a save is Morrowind. In all honesty it's still the best 360 game out there in my opinion. Sure gears is a blast and all but there is no way I'll have 200 hours of gear time. Get this game.
  9. No mention of a beta code in the nfo. So I'm guessing all the pirates are not going to be playing a legal version of the Halo 3 beta. Kinda stinks - the leet firmware modders get crackdown way early and will probably get the beta way early as well. I almost wish Live sucked hard so I'd have a good excuse to unplug the 360 from the router and get to work on that dvd drive.
  10. Try FlashFXP. link. Works fine for me. simply put in your xbox IP - user and pass should both be "xbox" without the "" - also turn passive mode off as some dashes don't like it.
  11. If you don't want to FTP the first thing you should do is get a copy of Avalaunch. You can get it from xbins or any http site that has illegal files on it. Take the emulators and roms you want and burn them on a disc with avalaunch on it - make sure it's an iso and not a data disc, and that ava.xbe is renamed to default.xbe. You can use the filemanager built into avalaunch to copy from the D: drive ( DVD or CD ) to E: or F: ( HDD ). While your at it also copy the avalaunch over too and use that as your dashboard because Evox blows a donkey and does a bad job of it at that. Ava is much better.

  13. I know next to nothing about the whole HD phenom, but if your HD TV supports 480i and 480p why would the thing be upconverting a 480i and 480p signal? I've got a 36" CRT HDTV and have noticed zero lag. Is this because it supports 480i and such? Just when I think I have a grip on resolutions and refreshes and contrast I realize I know zilch.
  14. It's OK to suck and lose on Live. You are anonymous. Why would you care if you play a game and not get one kill or finish every race in dead last? Live has different groups you can be apart of. If you stick to Family or Recreation sections you will not have a problem. Stay away from Pro and Underground and you'll be fine. I'm not saying assholes can't go into the Family section and game but the chances are alot less.
  15. Anyone on here have one of these... I'd kind of like to get one for my Arcade titles but I have never really like Madcatz stuff because the quality always seems like it will break if you look at it wrong. My Ms. Pacman is really wanting a stick like this. Anyone give me a thumbs up on this?
  16. All profiles are saved to the HD unless you have a Mem Card hooked up and saved them to that. Don't send the hard drive or faceplate in with your xbox. If they send you a new xbox it will have a faceplate on it so +1 on the faceplate. When you call 1-800-4-myxbox just make sure you tell them you bought it within the last year and you'll be fine. You don't need the box or manual or receipt. I have none of those things. They'll UPS you a box with a pre-paid sticker inside to return it to them. A week or two later you'll get it or another one back. Super easy and hassle free.
  17. Just got mine back from being serviced. Since I didn't have it registered he asked when I got it. I gave him the month since I couldn't remember the exact date and that seemed good enough for him. Interesting enough when I called about another problem related to a disc he mentioned that I was still under warranty until Dec. 07 which is a year from when they sent me a new console so I'm guessing if they send you a different console rather than fixing yours you get a year on that one as well, unless they screwed something up in my favor. I have nothing but good things to say about xbox tech support. They priority mailed me a new game disc in two days when my 360 wouldn't read the one I had.
  18. Just had to reformat my hard drive. Lost all my 4-heads and elephants.
  19. I'm confused does my 360 have "blast processing" or "mode 7 graphics"
  20. Yup I just found a blue wall. Must have locked you into one part of the city ( guess 1.2 GB was big enough for a demo download ). Funny I thought the same thing about the spiderman comparison. I just beat the third boss person in the demo and by that time was running out of time to make it to the fourth. My agility was maxed out from finding a bunch of orbs and I just decided to go rooftop to rooftop instead of driving. Still ran out of time. Also noticed that it says something when the game is loading to the effect that your skills go up faster in the demo. Also had my strength maxed and enoyed picking up trucks and smashing them into bad guys. The game really gives you a super hero ego, something that some comic book games really should start doing *coughSupermancough*. Demo really does it's job though, just as your guys getting to be a badass and your looking to tear stuff up you see that timer counting down till the end of fun time and your not ready to quit. Count me in for a pre-order.
  21. Cool demo. Really BIG at 1.2 GB though. I just let it download overnight. It lets you play for an hour and that seems to be the only restriction. Controls take a big crap on the GTA scheme as it has real 3D controls (left stick moves guy, right stick moves targeting reticule ALA Halo). There is alot of stuff going on in the city as it is really busy looking. First impressions are good, gonna play for another hour now. Really looking forward to trying the online co-op in the demo so Starscream get to downloading.
  22. Try this here .... link. Not sure if this is what you've got.
  23. I've never put saves on a 360. I have never used Datel's device. He stated some xbox saves won't go on a mem card and I know you can manually FTP them to your PC through FTP. Now whether or not Datel will take those and put them on the 360 I don't know.
  24. I'm getting it for Crackdown. I really dig the graphical style of the game and from the vids I've seen the world looks huge. I'll know for sure once the playable demo gets released soon. The Halo 3 beta is just a nice bonus thrown in.
