  1. hollywood reporter Looks like the costs on the next generation are making them jump to cinema. Man I'd love an Abe and Munch CGI movie, but it stinks they closed their game studio.
  2. So is the DS still crappy or are we gonna start posting some pr0n? I vote for pr0n. Not that I don't think the DS is crappy, cause it is, but man it's tough to beat some good pr0n. And that is a pic of me in my avatar, but I was straight out of a cold shower so ya know don't go by that pic cause it not to scale.
  3. Wait a year and save $100?? What is that like $8.50 a month? Shoot I spend more than that a month on McDonalds coffee. For 9 bucks a month savings you better believe I'm there on launch day. I love my PSP. Sure in a year I could have saved a few bucks. Crap man I'm playing Lumines and Mercury NOW.
  4. Also 1. Donkey Konga 2. Lumines - the "evercrack" of the handhelds 3. Animal Crossing Also I just picked up Mercury and it's an awesome game. I have no trouble using the analog nub at all. It is handcramping if used for more than an hour though. I think it's because it's so close to the edge of the machine - they used every last cm for the screen pushing everything else to the very edge.
  5. CNN has the figures at 500,000 for the first two days. I don't normally follow this type of news so I'm not sure how biased CNN is. linkie thingie
  6. You should fear the PSP. Who wouldn't want a $250 xbox memory card.
  7. When this version of the DS comes out I might pick one up..... http://www.krackiwi.com/images/Nintendo_DS_hires.png
  8. I can't believe people think Sony should have used carts instead of discs. They are using the same startegy in the handheld market that they used in the console area. The same strategy that made them the largest in the market by a wide margin. If I had to bet on the outcome this time, I'd go with Sony again. Nintendo - "Ohh look at our supposed innovation". Sony - "Flash! Bang! Shiny! Give us your money bitches" It worked well enough last time. [/b]
  9. Why must everything be innovative? Does everything have to have a new way of interaction? I guess I just don't get it. I suppose I'm a moron because I'd rather play ports of games from a 5 year old system with the same controls, rather than ports from a 8 year old system with horrible new controls. I guess creative, quirky games that are fun to play can only belong on a Nintendo system. Oh well I'm gonna go play some Lumines - too bad I couldn't use a touch screen to turn the blocks, that would be so innovative.
  10. I couldn't read a darn thing on that site. Emule is your friend. English version there and TONS of people sharing.
  11. I'm interested to hear about what the playback is like. Has anyone played a converted movie from a memory stick yet? -S I played it with quicktime on my PC and the quality seemed nice. I'm gonna pick up a 1GB stick soon. Can't wait to try it out.
  12. Also for those who are interested in it for media playback - I just ran a movie through Sony's Image Converter 2 program. It turned a 485MB .mpg into an 80MB .mp4 movie. That's wicked sweet. I'll be able to crams loads of crap on a 1 GB stick.
  13. Damn CPUWIZ you gonna wear that bling bling around your neck...Superfly. Jasoco I read that Korea is getting a Web Browser UMD packed in with their bundle. Perhaps keep an eye on ebay as I'm sure people will be making a mint off them on there. Personally I'll wait for a Forefox hack.
  14. Also just in case there is a collector somewhere here on these forums ....... http://ebessan.livedoor.biz/35ee31a7.JPG Looking pretty badass right there.
  15. Just got mine today. I like it alot. Now that I got the image converting software all I need is a bigass mem stick. I'm converting a movie right now just to see what the file sizes are going to be like before I drop money on a mem stick that might not be enough. I don't plan on getting any games yet, but I might pickup that Ridge Racer game it's looking pretty toight - toight like a tiger. Mostly it's gonna be my portable movie player that can also play a few games now and again.
  16. I've played my share of PC games. Mostly years ago in DOS but I think a few were Win98 games. I gave up on it due to some games just plain not working. Sure if I were a PC tech guy I may have been able to configure my PC but hours of setup do not make a good gaming experience. I'm hoping this has gotten better with gaming in XP with all it's plug and play deals but I'm just not interested anymore. With the exception of RTS games which scream for hi-res and a mouse almost all gaming genres can be done just as well on a console. While we are on the subject of PC vs Console. Why is it that PC FPS players think that mouse/keyboard setup is so superior. I've used both and on a 19'" or 21" monitor (average for PC gamers?) a mouse is needed for precision. You've got such a smaller target considering the same guys head on a 19" monitor is about 2 inches big compared to the head on my 65" TV which is 8 inches big. I have quake 2 for both PC and Xbox. I have no trouble at all using a gamepad on my TV but if forced to use it on my monitor it would be tough. I also find movement is much easier with a gamepad. The only place I can see the mouse/keyboard combo winning out is in games like Doom where you have 7 different guns you can carry at one time and pressing a number key to instantly switch to that weapon , of course this way means your not moving and changing weapons at the same time. I guess back in the 16 bit and even the generation of consoles after that I liked PC gaming because of the vast performance increase and the larger variety of games, which made the hassle of setting up those games worth it. Nowadays it just seems to be a waste of time. Of course on a board of classic gamers I also think about playing games I paid for now in the future. I have plenty of Atari games that I can plug into my Atari and they play fine. Same with all my NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc. However I have stacks of old PC games that refuse to be played on my PC. Ten years from now when I'm getting nostalgic for some good old fashioned Doom3 I know I'll be able to throw the disc in my XBox and play it, I can't say the same thing about the PC version.
  17. I'm really liking it. My PC can't run it but my box can. Scary as all get out that's for sure.
  18. Looks like Logitech is taking care of the lack of a clamshell design. Very nice looking IMO....
  19. A question for all the PSP owners. Can it play .avi (divx) movies as well as .mpg? I'd really love to pick this up for nothing more than a portable movie player but I'd rather not have to re-encode movies into .mpg format.
  20. Not to poop on the ds but, innovative games? For the most part the games seem to be rehashes of N64 games. Just because your playing it with a clunkier control scheme does not make it innovative. Course I don't know much so there you go.
  21. I've been following this game for a while. If this is the only good game for the nextbox I'll still get one just for this game. I've played through every Elder Scrolls game so far and don't plan to quit anytime soon. Sure the graphic look great but what really has me interested is their "radiant AI" system, which if it turns out like they plan will really change how games are played. I wish Xbox2 would come out tomorrow. Schwingggggg.....
