  4. There was a truly dismal version of this for the C64.
  5. Commodore 64! Loved it and should have never sold it in college. Just got a 64C last month and am rebuilding the library of fave titles. Also have fond memories of my 6th grade classroom's Apple II. I remember taking in an issue of Mad magazine that had a program lisiting in it that would draw Alfred E Newman on the screen. My buddies and I worked on that for weeks!
  6. I need to look into this as well. I recently got a 64C and 1541 up and running and there are just too many games I would like to get/try that i can't find or afford. Also would come in handy for these... http://www.gtw64.co.uk/ this is "games that weren't" for the C64. Very cool. I really want to try Space Ace (only one level) on the 64!!
  7. Seriously. I just won a C64 computer that is missing its W key. The model is the later white/"c" style. I actually don't care what color the key is as long as it fits. Anyone have one to spare? PM me!

  9. That's the book! Very cool miker. This will be a perfect time killer for the summer.
  10. Excellent. Can't wait and thanks for doing such a great project.
  11. I lately rediscovered in my collection of classic computer stuff two books: Marvel Book of Computer Fun volumes one and two. It's a bunch of simple BASIC programs written around Marvel Comics Characters. I'd like to do them on my Atari 8 bit, but it has no listing! What other popular computers of the time are closest to Atari Basic? I'm guessing C64. How hard would a conversion be? Also, this will be my first summer off for a few years (I'm a teacher). One item on my to do list is to write a text adventure using AdventureWriter. I'm thinking of doing a Questprobe game featuring... Howard the Duck. Seriously. Never used the program before, any suggestions or advice?
  12. Wow! This is very cool. I've been following off and on for awhile and am really surprised at the progress made. This is turning out to be a real must have!! So- will I be able to use this on my 130XE as is? I keep getting kinda lost in the technical stuff on the posts...
  13. Is it possible to get the roms for sopme of the games that appeared on the Flashback consoles? I'm looking for Space Duel.

  15. So on a side note, I managed to win board games of Pooyan and Tutankahm over the weekend. I never thought these two even existed. Very cool but very strange...
  16. Yeah! I've purchased the comic packs at Dollar Tree and Deals. Check the stationary/book aisle. They've been doing this for the past few years. Usually around Halloween, Christmas, and Easter. They come from a company called Cards One. You can even order bags and boards from cardsone.com for a pretty decent price. They'll send you a catalog with tons of comics old wax packs and more. Pretty cool.
  17. Ah! Here it is, I found it online...
  18. Visited a local Dollar Tree store today where they were selling bagged comics. For $1 you get two comics from the mid 80's-mid 90's, and an old trading card (usually a sci-fi fantasy movie- I got Alien). Well, one ish I got was Nathanial Dusk - a mini series from 1984 courtesy of DC. Inside there was an ad for Parker Brothers board games based on arcade games. Now, I've been reading comics since I was 5 (way back in '79) and reading videogame punlications since I was 7. I have NEVER seen this add before! Included were Popeye, Pole Position, Q-bert, and Joust. I have all of those board games except Joust which I had never seen. I heard it was out there but have never actually seen one online, boardgamegeek.com, or anywhere. This one has been harder to find than the Wizard of Wor and Blue Print board games! Anyone out there have it? If I get a chance I'll scan the ad and post it. Pretty cool!
  19. So I have a birthday coming up and a friend of mine built me a replica of the Obelisk controller for the 2600. Not sure if the thing was ever released or not. I saw it in the Christmas 83 ish of EG and always wanted one. Anyway, I am looking for an arcade quality control (actual stick and buttons) with an extra long cord I can install in it. Goat Store used to sell such things, but does anyone else make them? Here is a pic of the original. I'll post a pic of the one my friend built ASAP. Also included is a pic of the style of stick I would like.
  20. Got mine today! How cool... Boxed Space Jockey & Gravitar A couple of 5th Avenues Some great 8-tracks- Eagles! Right on!! A ton of Heroclix. Thanks a million!!
  21. OK... I cannot honestly think of ANY Exidy game I've seen in person! Venture, Mousetrap, and the like I only ever saw on CV. Pac Land was at the Belden Village Mall Aladdin's Castle in the mid 80's. Ms. Pac Man was at our local skating rink "The Skate Place" but I also remember playing it at a store called Gold Circle circa 1982. Xenophobe caught my eye at a local festival (First Town Days) in their arcade tent and ate alot of my quarters around 1988. The first Nintendo vs. machine I remember was probably Hogan's Alley at a pizza place called Pisanello's. Here's one for ya- Return of the Jedi! First saw it on vacation in a grocery store somewhere in New Mexico.
  22. Mailed mine last Saturday. Hope it brings happiness and joy.
