  1. So I tried that QMC2 front end with Mess. Yes Space Dungeon does work that way. So I can use Mess for my dual joystick 5200 games like I wanted. But overall Mess really is bad for 5200 emulation. I didn't try all the games but after Robotron and Space Dungeon I found a lot of games that were emulated very poorly. Oh well, as long as Robotron and Space Dungeon work I'll just use Mess for them... thanks for for all the help.
  2. So, I figured I would give this QMC2 front end a try with Mess because it's supposed to be the way to use all the features in Mess. So how do I get Mess to use it's voice support for the Odyssey 2 for games that support The Voice?
  3. Thanks for the info. I guess I will just either stick with MessUI or dump Mess entirely. Actually seems to be way more problem than it's worth. Mess emulation isn't that great to start with anyway.
  4. What the heck is a softlist and how do you use it in MessUI?
  5. So long story short it doesn't work...
  6. Yea, Mess leaves a lot to be desired. I was hoping to use it because it's easy to map the twin controller games like Robotron and Space dungeon to the 2 joysticks on my xbox 360 controller. But Mess is indeed a total mess....
  7. It works for you? What version of Mess are you using? I've tried serveral different roms but I always get the black screen after the Atari logo. The roms work in other emulators...
  8. Does Space Dungeon for the Atari 5200 work in Mess? I just get a black screen....
  9. I agree with the others that said if you don't like it get rid of it. The 5200 is my favorite system of all time and even though I love Atari I'm not really a 7800 fan. But so what. Use what you like and don't use what you don't like. kind of pointless to argue about which system is better 30 years after the fact....
  10. Wow, thanks. That works great. I had figured I would just have to live with it the way it was. Just out of curiousity, is it possible to configure Altirra to use 2 5200-dapters with games like Robotron and Space dungeon? At this point with the trackball working so well that's all I need my 5200 for. Not that I'd ever part with it, I've had it and the games since 1982....
  11. F12 doesn't seem to do anything...
  12. I can't see any drivers that should be updated. Strange. I reinstalled version 4.2 and it works fine. Guess I'll just stay with that.
  13. Is there something else that needs to be updated to make the new version work on Windows 7 64 bit? I've never had an issue with Stella before but now it locks up when I select a rom. I've tried both the 64 bit and 32 bit builds...
  14. Is there a way to hide the mouse pointer in Altirra? this is no really big deal but I get the Windows mouse pointer and the 5200 crosshairs while playing...
  15. Excellent! That works great. thank you so much
  16. Is there any Atari 5200 emulator that definitely works with a 5200 trackball connected through a 5200-dapter? I figured Altirra would be the most likely but any emulator would do that can play Missile Command and Centapede....
  17. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong but the trackball still doesnt want to work correctly...
  18. Does Altirra work with a Atari 5200 trackball connected through a 5200-dapter? When I connect the trackball while holding down the fire button Windows sees the 5200 trackball as a regular trackball and I can move the mouse cursor around fine. Though it doesn't use the fire buttons as the mouse button. But when I try to play Atari 5200 missle command the mouse cursor moves around the screen correctly but the Missle Command crosshair that it should control does not work right. Is there something I need to do to configure Altirra to use the 5200 Trackball correctly? Thanks and Happy new year everybody
  19. Is it true that they dug up all those old Atari E.T. cartridges to make room for the Xbone Kinect units?
  20. After the awesome suckitude of DA2 I think I will wait until DA3 hits the bargain bin by Xmas..,
  21. I played this game a year or two ago. As someone who really does not JRPG's I enjoyed this quite a lot. Very under rated game....
  22. Microsoft is not micro shafting you, they are mega shafting you....
