Hey MrBland, I see that you have a complete copy of P.I.T.S. in your collection. I am very interested to know the information in the instruction manual, and I was wondering: Does all the information in the instruction manual already appear online somewhere? If not, would you be willing to send me scans of all the pages of the instruction manual, ensuring that all text is legible? I am not currently aware of the information in the instruction manual being available in English, so I am asking for this so that I can translate the information into English. If you can’t read German, I can share my translation results with you when I’m done, and I can even post the results on this site for all to read, if you and/or Lars Baumstark and Bastian Schick don’t mind. If a problem would arise from that, then I can just share the results with you. If you can already read German, then I will understand if you don’t want to take me up on my offer. If anyone else has the full instruction manual for this game and would like to send me scans of each page so I can get all info translated into English and share the results as well, please send me a personal message and I’ll get started!

I've had problems with this before, and I have no idea why my pictures aren't appearing. Here is my new attempt to post pics. If this doesn't work, the pics already appear in my gallery under my profile.

Here are the rest of the pics:

Below are pics of my current Atari Lynx cart collection. I hope to eventually acquire one cart variant of every single game that ever had a cart release for the Lynx. I believe that I have accounted for everything correctly, so there should currently be 4 holes in my cart collection. I also hope to acquire one box and instruction manual to go along with each cart, if an “official” box or manual was ever made for the game. It appears that P.I.T.S. is going to be the hardest game to do this for. (The one unlabeled cart is “Eye of the Beholder.” It looks like I will have to jump on the next production run from Eric if it ever happens, since nobody seems to want to sell his or her complete copy of the game.) (more pics in next post)

I'll bet he received an offer that he couldn't refuse.

One thing that I want to mention concerning this subject: I realize that in the past, there was a nice release done for this game, where one could buy a cart of this game, a box, and an instruction booklet. I also hope that the planned future release of said package will occur in the future, as I will be one of the first to appear on the pre-order list, hopefully. One of the questions that a person might ask when considering releasing the ROM of a game that still has limited production runs is: will releasing the ROM cause interest to disappear in the purchasing of the carts, boxes, and instruction manuals of the game? I would have to say that the definitive answer is "no." If somebody were to release the Eye of the Beholder ROM, yes, there would be some people who might solely play the game on an emulator or Lynx Flash Cart and have no interest in buying the box, cart, and manual of the production run. However, true Lynx fans will realize that the ROM is only 1 item of the whole package, and the other 3 items: the cart, the box, and the instruction manual, are still worth paying money for. Thus, if the ROM were to be released right now, I highly expect that if someone were to make a limited production run of the game after that, which includes a cart, box, and manual, all of those complete copies would still sell out in a certain time, regardless of the fact that the ROM can be downloaded for free online. This truth has certainly already been proven with other prototype games on other systems. Whether or not the ROM "should" be released, I won't give my opinion, but if the above issue exists with someone, I really think that it shouldn't. If a person spent a lot of money to acquire a prototype game and needs to do limited production runs to get some or all of the money back, the ROM's release won't hinder that effort if special carts, boxes, and manuals are made to go along with the virtual item.

I actually don't have any items for sale on Ebay right now. I probably will in a couple of days, but what I meant was that there are 2 video games for another system up for auction on Ebay, and I have placed bids on them to try to win the auctions at nice prices (if I win, I'll consider it a good deal, but I expect to lose the auctions since a lot of people want these games). If and when I lose those auctions, I will still have the money to make you my offer. I have to wait until those auctions are over, though, or at least wait until somebody bids higher than me and makes me out of the running, before I can make you my offer. I don't want to retract the bids I've already placed because I already have an essentially flawless track record on Ebay, and I don't want to do anything that looks negative. I've been waiting for CGE 5th to appear for like a year now, so this offer of yours has me very excited. If somebody beats me to it, then I'll have to wait it out for another offer I guess.

I already placed bids on two big money auctions that are not going to end for another 9 days. If my bids get surpassed on both of them before that time, you can rest assured that I'll be making my offer on your game if it is still available.
-
I never understood why so many people feel the need to post on forums complaining about prices. Seriously, if you don't like the price, then don't buy the game. If you really want the game but the price is too high, then try to make your best offer. Complaining does nothing productive. segaklon, don't accept any low-ball offers for your game too soon. I have a lot of pending auctions going on right now, and if I lose them all, I will probably make an offer for your game that you can't refuse. If I win some, then I might miss out on this nice opportunity.

Oh man... I want that something fierce!

Well, there are the highly coveted prototype games such as Dragon Hopper, Zero Racers, and Faceball, which everyone who knows about the Virtual Boy is looking for. Not even the ROMs of these games are available anywhere online, so tracking them down and getting to play them at all is a really big thing for Virtual Boy fans. Chances are, if I can ever get my hands on an unreleased prototype game, it is going to cost me a large fortune. Nevertheless, I may try to do just that. Then there are the prototype systems which are also extremely expensive if they can be found at all. I would love to add any of them to my collection as well. Yeah... if there is anything Virtual Boy-related that I don't have, I try to get it if I can, so my collection still has room to grow, and thus, I'm still actively collecting for it.

Very nice Atari Lynx collection! Do you think that you will be going for a complete Virtual Boy collection as well? My Virtual Boy collection is the first complete collection that I've ever created for any system, which you can see here: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/usercenter/index.php?section=collection&uid=1643 I must confess that Virtual Boy is my number one favorite system, but Atari Lynx comes in at number 2! I hope to make my Atari Lynx collection as complete as possible in the not-too-distant future.
