Got this today. Unfortunately the Atari has been exposed to the elements. Which means I paid too much for the lot.

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.

Have you tried putting it in a container with baking soda and sealing it up for a couple of days? -
Never mind. I found the part on eBay. When I opened up this 6 switch for the first time, I had a feeling someone had done some repair to it at one time. The casing has a hole for channel select, but no actual switch. Looks like they put a heavy sixer board inside that doesn't have the selection. Anyway, I doubt anyone is interested, but here are some NOS ones on eBay. I was going to order from Best electronics, but I can barely make sense of his website. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-RF-Modulator-Atari-Part-CA010410-for-2600-Heavy-Sixer-Single-Channel/141430084744?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D34225%26meid%3D30e13bb04c3149ce9a7b2c499ae460df%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D141560789413

The board attached to the silver box broke. Now there is no video. Is this part available? How hard to replace?

I also have several games that are NIB, but they aren't sought after titles.....And a pair of wireless joysticks. Apparently those aren't very sought after either, and don't sell for very much.

A friend of mine went on a collecting spree about 15 years ago. As he started selling his collection I made sure to lay claim to the boxed Atari. I think he still has a nice colecovision collection.

And Im sure it only has that "New Atari Smell" once.

But thats my point. Its not paint. Thats the color of the laminate. Its no big deal, and I will paint it black. Just trying to find out anything I can about it. Pink Cabs were probably not in high demand. There is a piece on top of the cabinet that you can tell it wasn't painted. You can see the edges. Im just naturally curious about things.....like what did this used to be? It has an aladins castle tag on it...maybe they ordered it that way?

That has been my gut feeling too. Maybe I could have it x-rayed? However, I have no reason to believe it isn't inside, as it would probably be pretty tough not to tear the flap trying to open it.

I know this will sound sort of goofy, but I have a 4 switch woodgrain 2600 that is new in the box. What is the opinion of opening the box, without actually using the system? For some reason I just want to tear into it. But I have other 2600's that I can play if I just want to play. Obviously the boxes are glued shut, so would you still consider it new in the box? A piece of electronics that has been untouched for that many years, begs the question......is it really IN the box? LOL.

You are right. Thanks for the information. Dynamo is exactly what I was looking for. However, not sure why the cab is pink unless they had to rebuild it. Or maybe a pink cab was an option.lol. So far the game is great, and the monitor still looks good. Just got to get a 4/8 way selectable joystick and I should be set.

I just purchased this Aero Fighters game locally on CL. The game works perfectly, but I would like to know what the cabinet is. There is no artwork, and the pink color is not painted. That is the actual color of the laminate. I assume the cabinet was converted at some point, but I really don't know. I am switching between the original PCB and a Multicade PCB. I know its not a sought after game or cabinet, but I would like to know as much about it as possible. It sort of looks like a Street fighter II cabinet, but Im sure a lot of the early 90's cabs looked the same.
