How hard would it be to disconnect the wires running to a screen on a handheld and connect them to wires to run to a TV?

Thanks for all the info, I wasn't aware that there were that many variations. My favorite is definitely the loose dpad on the 3 button, but my 2nd choice is my 3rd party 6 button that has a very similar feeling to it.
-
I have a couple of controllers for my genesis, 3 3 button ones and a 3rd party 6 button. On the 3 button controllers there is a noticeable difference in the dpad feel from controller to controller.
Two of them have a really stiff dpad, one has a more loose one with a bit of a longer throw to it. I could understand if these were 2 different iterations, but one of the stiff ones has the red letters, while the other is the all black one (as well as the one with the looser dpad).
Does anyone else notice these differences between some of their controller's?

Currently playing LA Noire, and loving it. This will probably be one of the 1st times where I will buy the DLC, I think it's that good.

All the youngsters I know can't wait to throw away their relatively-new _____________ and get the newest latest/greatest, and relish shitting on anything that isn't the latest/greatest. If the latest/greatest ain't released yet, they are impatient for it to be released. I don't think that bodes well for the likelihood of "future retrogamers." I think the industry is keenly aware of this mentality ("I want a new thrill damnit, and I want it right now"), and that observation is definitely considered in formulation of (and deemed compatible with) download-only business models that everything is going to.
_________ = you fill the blank.
Some good suggestions: cell phone, music, movies/TV , tablet computer, laptop computer, automobile, shoes/clothes, etc....etc...etc..
I really have to disagree with this statement, I'm only 20 myself, I never grew up with really any of these older games. My 1st real system was a PS1 (technically a Genesis, but I was a bit too young to really play it). I looked back at older games because I love history and came to find out that these games are extremely fun, and in some ways superior to newer ones. More than half of the games I own, I had never previously played or knew anything about, so it isn't just nostalgia.
I picked up a 2600 on a bit of a whim with a bunch of games. I got some of my friends over and we played some games on it. It was probably one of the funnest times I've ever had. The bug hit my friends too, they picked up older systems themselves and started playing games that they hadn't been playing before. I don't personally know or associate with anyone that is clamoring for a new laptop for phone every couple of months, you use what you have and when it wears out/breaks replace it.
So, I just wanted to make it clear that not every "kid" feels that the new stuff is somehow better. Those with the intelligence to look past the superficial differences will find that there is fun to be had in all generations of gaming, and really isn't that what we're all here for, having fun playing games.

I was a bit weary at 1st with these announcements, but from that announcement I'm really looking foward for this system. The best part to me is the controller, as I love the Neo Geo pocket and love the feel of microswitches. I also really like that it'll be able to play games from alot of the different regions.

I don't do it this way on my own computer, this was just the most simplified way of starting the game for my mother, who is really bad with tech stuff (and I'm not that good myself).
-
I didn't really figure anything out. I just put the game file on the desktop, when you click on it the 1st time it asks what program to use and I specified Nestopia. From then on it just opens up the emulator and automatically plays the game.

Never mind, I got it figured out , Mods, you can delete this.

My mother really likes the game Tetris and wants me to try and set up an application on her computer so that, without being online she can click on a program icon and immediately start playing the game. Is there a way to set up Nestopia so that all she has to do is double click and begin playing?

I had 2, got rid of 1 in a trade. Both were identical, save for the pic on the label.

Reminds me of a few N64 carts I found a while back that were obvious rentals. The store actually branded the carts in the back with some sort of hot iron that had their name on it - the way you brand cows
I actually wouldn't mind this as much as the sharpie. Sure its permanent, but as long as its an actual brand and not some guy with a soldering iron.

I'm looking at getting some games for the 360, mostly ones that you can just pick up, play and not get caught up with a story, just pure fun. More or less a party game that can be played single-player as well.
-
I was a fan of AVGN a couple years ago, but lost interest as I got a bit older. I will say that this movie looks really good to me, especially since it appears that he doesn't use his plethora of 4 letter words as often as the regular episodes.
-
I don't make mixtapes, but I certainly listen to my stereo while I play some games, mostly ones with music I don't really care for.
-
really? I can't stand the shape of the PS3 controller. it was fine back in the PS2 days. but I'm no longer a kid with kid hands.
Still my number 1 modern controller, I have really small hands, so anything bigger than the 360 controller usually results in bad hand cramps.
-
I don't have any 360 controllers, but I may pick some up if its a lot easier than the PS3. 1 question though, can I change the button layout, like if i wanted to use it to play games on an emulator or something like that.
-
I've been trying to set up my PS3 controller so that I can use it on my computer, and I've run into a bit of a problem. One of the programs that you need to use (MotionInJoy) doesn't recognize the controller at all, and if it does, the analog sticks won't work. I've been trying this for hours installing and uninstalling and it just doesn't work, I'm fed up with it, is there any way to use a PS3 controller on the PC without having to use this god-forsaken program?

I got my system today, works great (gonna miss that splash logo), very clean. Thanks Ax.

I organize my Atari carts alphabetically by maker (20th century, Activision,...) and by title, as well as putting the label variations in chronological order (numbered text, text label,...).

Yeah? what does he say?I missed this thread the first time around...
Heckle and Jeckle Collectables in Chili, lots of crazy stuff, but his prices are laughable on most things. every once in a while something slips through, but the guy who owns it is kind of a tool

I live about three minutes from this place. Saying that the owner is "kind of a tool" would be putting it mildly. For a good laugh, ask them why all of their Atari 2600 cartridges are priced so insanely high.
He'll mumble something about "fair market price" and how "people pay more than that on the auction sites." The last time I was in there, about a year ago, he was looking up prices on eBay with a tall stack of PS2 games next to him....
The place could use a good dusting too.
That's why I like my local game store, Dragon's Den, they have stacks of 2600 games for 50 cents each and even more in the back, most of their prices are extremely fair, and cool to talk to as well.

Downhill Domination for the PS2. May not be too old, but I was the only person I knew of that had it or even heard of it. My friend liked it so much, he tracked down a copy when he played it last January.

Something like the original 1001 PSP, I have one that has a broken cracked screen.
