It is a shame b/c I actually thought that TRU had really good stores. My experiences w/ TRU and BRU in the last few years was really good. Well stocked and organized stores with employees that are helpful. They may not have always been best on price, but they are in a space where it is really hard to compete w/ big box stores like Wal-Get and online. Plus with demographics changing and there just being fewer kids overall I can see why they are in big trouble.

My 2 y.o. likes playing Mario Kart on the DS, he knows where we keep it and will take it out and say "game." DK is his favorite character to play and he loves the maps where he can fall off. One of these days I want to bust out the kids controllers for the 2600 and give the Seasame Street games a try w/ him.

I've come to the opposite conclusion, I was never cool.

Probably save, but hoping the other half buys it first.

While it could all be garden variety teenaged malaise I would want to rule out stuff like depression or other serious issues in school. Of course getting a teenaged boy to talk about that probably isn't easier said than done.

What sort of Walmart are you shopping at that there are actual employees around to ask for help from?

I think I need to go back and watch from the beginning. As for adult-oriented cartoon shows I think are better, I'd put Bob's Burgers at its peak at the top of my list.

I briefly had the bug for one. What turned me off was the lack of diversity of game titles. Not a fan of fighting games. Its a cool bit of hardware, non-backlit screen aside.

It's a fun time. I stopped counting after 10, but dada was def my son's first word. The extra fun part is trying to figure out their toddler-speak. I took us about two weeks to figure out that "bee" meant bird -- seems so obvious now.

The grind gets really tedious too.

Less likely to return home covered in glitter and regret from a tapas bar. So I vote tapas.
