    Atari User issue 21 is out.

     

    First we'd like to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone, and thank those that helped out with the latest issue.

     

    This issue includes a report from Play Expo, Star Castle and Impulse-X reviews, another look at Atari history one month at a time, and a lot more.

     

    Now it is time to open a bottle of port and digest some fine cheeses!

    Some great stories here.

     

    I ended up with an Atari 800XL from Dixons as for the price nothing came close to it. My parents had recently separated so them agreeing to buy me a computer for Christmas was probably after lots of complex and not very diplomatic negotiations I wasn't party to. Anyway, I wanted a C64 but that was only being sold with the MIDI keyboard bundle at the time, and out of the agreed budget. Second choice was a Spectrum but after seeing one hidden in the back of Dixons in Derby, I was left a bit unimpressed by it. So, it was the 800XL with 1010, software bundle and joystick.

     

    Good times, and it was still possible for a while at least to walk into Boots and buy new Atari games off the shelf.

    Heck, I have had 2 of the things sealed for years, plus 2 unsealed, and recently bought four 7800 games for £5... one of which was a SEALED Planet Smashers .... I'll be using them and my collection of sealed Jinks games to build a new extension on my house.

    I think most people are saying the Wii U will be punching at the same weight as the Xbox 360 and PS3. I'm sure the actual graphics in-game will get better as developers learn how to get the best out of the system, just like they have done with the 360. But, what happens when the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out? Will it look horribly dated like the Wii did very quickly?

     

    Nolan Bushnell isn't too impressed with the Wii U. Personally, I'm going to wait a while before I consider dipping my toes with one.

    Hi Robert, the link for the bonus page have been put in the IN-DEV column, for the last few issues.

     

    You aren't the only one who hasn't noticed the link so obviously we need to make things a lot more obvious in the next issue.

     

    I'll PM you now with the bonus page links for current and last issue.
