  2. Anyone started playing this yet? I'm really itching to get it and end my self-imposed ban on Xbox marketplace. I read that you can choose to fight the vampires or side with them and become a vampire dark lord? Will that screw up my character? Whilst I like the idea of draining the blood of buxom wenches I'd like to walk about Skyrim without constantly getting attacked by the townsfolk.
  3. Kudos to Bob for being so prolific and coming out with so many great games, almost on a monthly basis of late!
  4. There was a good Atari store in Birmingham at one point, can't remember name of it. Sure there is a photo of it somewhere in one of the old mags.
  5. I'm going to wait for the 3DS XL Lite Pro ..........
  6. Some great photos there. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Try Zaxon again, if you look at the 8-bit forum you'll see he's playing catch up with the SIDE orders and working to get everyone sorted.
  8. Tempest, I am so jealous right now! Amazing photos of an amazing games room. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  9. Have a look through this section of the forum for the great games released by Bob (pacmanplus) , and use an emulator - the 7800 rocks and there are some very talented people here on AA doing wonders with it.
  10. I wouldn't worry too much about pricing at the moment, once the console is out there I think there will be a lot of titles going online for less than the RRP. The bigger question is whether or not the Wii U is going to be worthwhile investing in. My Wii is just used for emulation now , haven't bought a new game for it in ages, even thinking about putting it in storage or selling it. I'm not sure if I'll take a risk on the Wii U.
  11. In the end this did get sorted. EA's online live support was useless. I think it all comes out of India and most of the responses seemed to come out of a can. After firing off a (very) nasty email to EA they supposedly reset a couple of things and the expansion pack magically worked. Took a few days though.
  12. The RROD can be caused by a number of things - it's an indicator of something being wrong and the actual display will give you a hint to what the problem is (google is your friend). Mostly it is as you guessed due to failure caused by overheating . I fixed a friend's machine just with some thermal paste but you might not be so lucky with every machine. Not sure how much mileage there would be for you in fixing the machines , here in the UK the old fat white 360s with 20gb HDs are going for peanuts on the likes of ebay etc.
  13. Would you consider shipping to the UK?

  16. The Euro model has always been slightly flawed with interest rates set by the ECB which largely tend to have been driven by economic performance in Germany and France. Spain is in deep trouble now but the Spanish (and all the meditteranean) German economies have always been worlds apart and that is the real problem. We're talking major differences in the way of doing business, culture and politics and until you address these fundamental differences you're always going to have problems in my opinion. If the Euro currency collapses and everyone reverts back to what they had before then Germany could find its exports become expensive overnight, so you could argue Germany has the most to lose if this happens. Having said that, we're all going to suffer some pain if the Euro goes down the toilet.
  17. Tried all that, still no joy. Microsoft are right in that the marketplace download is just a license - it unlocks what is already hidden in the game, and according to EA FAQS it should just be an easy process but so far has been a pain in the ass. Making a final attempt now to do everything from scratch.
  18. Today I purchased the Back to Karkand expansion for Battlefield 3 from the marketplace. I'd downloaded the latest 1GB patch. Didn't work - the expansion maps all showed missing DLC and wouldn't let me join. Chatted to an EA support guy who suggested various things, gave me redemption codes, cleared cache, deleted saved games..... same problem. Now I cannot even see an option to download the Back to Karkand expansion from the BF3 in-game store. Chatted with Microsoft - they said the download from the marketplace was just a license and to download from the in-game store using a redeem code - you mean that redemption code you never mentioned when I purchased the DLC? Weird. Anyway, Microsoft can't care less. It isn't their problem, and EA don't seem to give a shit either. So, no more Xbox marketplace for me, and I certainly won't be buying Battlefield 4, 5 or 6.
  19. It sucks, and EA are one of the worst culprits. I bought a Battlefield 2 from a supermarket - it was sealed and didn't have a pre-owned sticker on it but the price sort of screamed "pre-owned" as it was only £7. Get the thing home, and yep - pre-owned and I'll need to pay to play multiplayer. Recently bought Battlefield 3 new at a bargain price. If I sell it on it will cost someone 800 points to be able to play multiplayer.
