  1. That is really sad news. Our thoughts go out to his family. Rest in peace Jack, you kept Atari alive and achieved great things.
  2. Wow Ransom, great collection you have there. Thanks for sharing the pics and making me drool quite a bit !
  3. Hi, If the "*" are relating to timed out responses then it looks like the requests are not even leaving your ISP ?. I just did a traceroute from here and looks OK, one hop is a bit slow eastern USA but that is it.
  4. That is strange. Can you run a traceroute from your Vista PC and see where the connection is timing out? Sounds like an external routing problem somewhere.
  5. Hi, site is coming up fine for me. Still having problems?
  6. Scrapyard doggin' on the Atari Lynx

  7. Thanks for the comments Pengwin & Darklord. Appreciated !
  8. This issue we look at the Atari Megafile for the Atari ST, check out the Portfolio Smart Parallel Interface and review The Battle Of Britain and STAC (the ST adventure creator) for the Atari ST. We look at how close we came to seeing an Atari branded Megadrive, check out more ST coin-op conversions and take a detailed look at another month in Atari history. Also this issue a masterclass in DOS XE for the XL/XE,we look at the various football games released on the Atari platforms, and check out Hi-Tec software and their 8-bit releases. Lots more inside including reviews for the Atari 2600, 7800, Jaguar, Lynx, Jaguar CD and Atari 8-bit. Print editions are available from Lulu & Magcloud. PDF available from www.atariuser.com . 11. Well there I was, ready to bid up to $800 but the thing was closed to international bidders. Shucks..... Meanwhile, back in the real world, lots of other things get priority over spending $600 on 8-bit carts.... Congrats to the winner though.
  12. Bob, add me to cart list for 1 x PAL version please
  13. The final DB assassination quest is bugged if I recall so can be a real pain to find the target. Just finishing off the Thieves Guild storyline now, completed the main quest a while ago. Still finding new places, awesome game.
  14. Yep, but then sellers would start using other terms such as "obscure" or "incredibly unique"
  15. Congrats on the new site Pengwin, and good luck with the coding!
  16. Latest snags include a NIB 600XL (from the same seller that Wood used) , and a Megafile 30 for my 1040 STE. The Megafile seems to have survived its treck across Europe and is working (touch wood and cross toes) . Brings back some memories.
  17. I'd never use Norton and I'd never use a free AV package .
  18. Looks like I'm getting a Megafile 30 , which I'll use with my 1040 STE. Comes without any software though. As I don't have an easy way to download and transfer the relevant software to floppy - my PCs have no floppy drives between them, could someone possibly put the software onto floppy for me? I'll obviously pay for the cost of the disk and postage.
  19. From memory, the drives listed on ebay will work but you'll need to twist the floppy cable to connect and you'll need to get the dremel out to slightly modify your case to accomodate the standard drive with square eject button. Wood is right on used, original, drives. Chances are they'll last all of five minutes. Best are the best option for an original drive but expensive.
  20. I don't think we need more rules or "regulation". Zaxon ain't FTE, and this community generally works very well. Life can kick us all in the nuts from time to time but at least Zaxon is sorting things out and getting everyone's orders fulfilled. He could have just given up but he came back, took the flak and is moving to fix things. Lots of businesses suddenly hit the rocks when something unexpected happens to impact their cashflow. Many, as an example, might rely on one or two clients to keep them ticking along. When orders from those clients stop they end up in the shit pretty quickly. Losing your job, speaking from experience here, can be devastating.
