  1. There are always options available but going down the legal route would be expensive and probably pointless - oh and there is the small matter of two different countries being involved for those who live in the States. If you paid by card then contact your card company and do a chargeback. Simple really. Google checkout won't be able to do anything about it. You get your money back. Will this help get this resolved for everyone? Probably not. If Zaxxon is suffering financially (he's stated he lost his job) then I guess he is doing what he can to get things out given his limited income. Zaxxon being hit by chargebacks and Google attempting to take the money and fees from his bank account will impact him probably very heavily and will make it a lot harder for him to do the right thing by everyone - if that is indeed what he is trying to do. Everyone needs to make their own decision on what to do . If you feel that you have been conned or that you'll never see your product then chargeback. If you feel that Zaxxon is probably trying to do the right thing then be patient like you have been so far. If you paid via your bank account then ermmm be patient. If you live in the UK and feel you've been conned and paid via your bank there is a little thing called the small claims court system. If Zaxxon is in the financial doodoo then legal action will achieve squat, maybe win you a share of his last can of baked beans. I sincerely hope everyone gets what they ordered.
  2. Bob, just wanted to say received the Scramble cart - many thanks. Not had chance to play it yet (the wife keeps getting in the way) but thanks for putting such a great game together and add me to the list for the next one!
  3. Sloops, I'd be interested in one if you can sort out the complex international licensing issues .
  4. The latest issue of Atari User is out now. In this issue we look at the Atari STE and ask if Atari dropped the ball, we also cover the Atari Lynx in Japan, the Atari 600XL and look at the latest Atari related news. Our ST coin-op series covers Konami and we take a look at another month in detail, in Atari history. Lots of reviews this issue including Alien Vs Predator for the Lynx, and titles for the Jaguar, 2600, 7800, Atari 5200, ST and XL/XE. Finally, we look at Tera, the next big game to be distributed by Atari. Thanks to everyone who helped with this issue, and subscribers should have their login details already. If you are a subscriber and haven't received your details, please PM me .

I don't happen to know what the cost of living is in China, but a $17 per week wage may be pretty good money for them.

Why single out Apple? How many other American companies do the exact same thing? Remember, people get rich by being cheap bastards...it's good business (apparently).

  9. I've not had any problems running any old Atari's through LG flatscreens - but can't guarantee every LG will be fine. Might be obvious but make sure you doing a manual tune for analogue and not DTV, using just an RF lead in case your TV doesn't like the SCART lead. You could also try connecting your Atari to your TV through (heaven forbid!) a VCR to see if your TV picks it up then.
  10. I had pretty much exactly the same thing with the first 800XL I tried with the Atarimax SIO2PC-USB , some time ago. Worked for a few minutes then wouldn't work at all with it, or any standard disk drives. After a few hours it worked again then the same thing happened. I tried the XL the other day with a 1050 and lo and behold it works normally. I didn't get any burning smell, loud bangs or anything like that when it happened. The SIO2PC-USB has worked fine on all the other XL and XE machines I tried it with.
  11. Wow, that looks really impressive . Well done.
  12. It's great that things look like they're getting resolved. Good luck with your job hunting Zaxon.

  20. Atari are wanting to protect their IP especially now they've signalled the end to big budget game releases and a focus on mobile and social gaming. At the moment they're focusing on remakes of 2600 classics for iOS...... who says they won't then turn their attention to other Atari platforms. I'm holding out for a 2012 1450XLD that comes with flash drives and SD cart slots. If they see a big chunk of revenue coming their way in the future from iOS then you can bet they'll continue as they are with their current policy. They aren't the only ones doing it though. Ain't pretty I admit.
  21. Here is a tip I found for the Xbox360 version (not sure if it works on PC) so you end up with 2 followers. If you've completed pretty much all of the Dark Brotherhood missions you'll be in the new sanctuary - which you'll have spent some money on so it looks nice and sparkly. If you already have a follower (I always keep Lydia with me) then the Initiate in the sanctuary will not be able to join you. Pick a fight with Nasir (sorry if spelt his name wrong) and yield when he gets mad. This will start a quest where the basic aim is to put things right with your "family". Essentially Nasir is pissed at you and you can't go about attacking brotherhood members without consequence. Talk to the initiate and she'll say she can't join you until you've made things right with Nasir. Speak to Nasir. Pay the 300 gold fine. The quest will end. Now talk to the initiate again and she'll join you right away. Now if only there was a nude mod for the Xbox 360 version (cough).
  22. I thought the game was excellent and was really glad I bought it. Ok the main character dialogue can be a bit annoying but apart from that I thought it was excellent, definetely well worth the price it goes for now.
  23. Bob, can you please add me to a list for this as I keep missing out. If possible a PAL version please. Happy new year.
  24. Hi, I just got your email so will get this sorted for you now. For future reference you can always PM me here on AA, via the AU forum and by email. Apologies for the delay.
  25. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a great day!
