  1. Found Real Sound: Kaze no Regret and American McGee's Alice (case & both discs only) at a hole in the wall thrift near downtown L.A. Kaze no Regret is missing the outer slipcase and bag of seeds, but the manual is still sealed and discs are in great shape, and since both it and Alice were $1 each, I can live with it.
  2. At least not all of the Goodwills around here are drying up...$5.99.
  3. SNES Illusion of Gaia, Super Mario World & TMNT IV Turtles in Time for $3.99 each at Goodwill. CDs, DVDs and disc-based games are slowly disappearing from most of my local Goodwills here in Los Angeles. One employee said that they were going to their "bookstores" (the only one I've seen is near my work; they only sell books, records, CDs and DVDs and games). The clerk today said they were going to the auction site. I'm hoping for more of the bookstores, but I'll believe 'em when I see 'em. Is this happening for anybody else?

  6. A long time ago, I traded a complete NES Caltron 6 in 1 for a complete TMPW. No regrets at all.
  7. I'm thinking that keeping them sealed would be that answer to that one. Definitely SH2, since I've now listed it on Ebay.
  8. Found these last night at Goodwill-sealed PS2 Silent Hill 2 and Simpsons Road Rage for $5.99 each.

  15. Once the H2 becomes a beautiful reality, the carts are going back in their boxes. None of them are out on display so that's not really a consideration.
  16. Luckily, it came right off without any residue. I feel your price sticker blues though.
  17. The Pokemon Center GBC was $12.99 and the Japanese GBA games (Donkey Kong and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters International 2) were $3.99 each at Goodwill. Atomic purple GBC with a Gameshark inserted in it and a Pokemon Silver inserted into that-$12.99 at a Salvation Army.
  18. For years and years...back when you could still find a few classic treasures for $3 each. This is probably my best example. Goodwill today: Genesis Splatterhouse 2 and Dreamcast Street Fighter III Double Impact-$2.99 each. L.A. Goodwills have set a $5.99-$7.99 range for video games, so this was nice to see for a few reasons.
  19. Not video game related, but fascinating just the same... The Goodwill near my gf's place in Redondo Beach had 3 copies of Medium, Rare and Remastered and 2 copies of Duals. These were U2.com fan club only releases. Thing is, I previously found single copies of the fan club releases COMmunication and Artifical Horizon at the same Goodwill months earlier...
  20. The question isn't as much what the Wii imports are doing at a Goodwill in Redondo Beach, CA, as much as what I'm doing buying the damn things. I blame Space Madness. $5.99 each.
  21. Girlfriend wanted to go to a Michael's crafts store. Luckily, there's a Salvation Army next door. There was a 30% off sale, so they ended up being $4.20 each. And if there's anyone near Torrance who would like a sealed 5200 Berzerk that's crushed on the bottom, that was there too.
  22. Heh, I just presumed the Pokemon Ruby label came off at some point... Tekken 3, Einhander and Typing of the Dead were $5.99 each at Goodwill today. All in great shape. I traded in a bunch of stuff at an indie game shop a few days ago and picked up the Race for $5.
  23. Sunday Goodwill finds: All complete except for SML 2 and the GB Pocket, which are missing paperwork. $5.99 each. GB Pokemon Yellow and GBA Pokemon Ruby (sans label)-$5 each at a Sunday swap meet. PS2 Risk was $5 and DC Conflict Zone was $3 at a thrift. The others were finds at a Goodwill today. All of them are sealed except for SSBM (PS2 Naruto 3 does look like a reseal though). Wii Tomb Raider and PSP Space Invaders were $9.99; the DS games were $7.99; SSBM and the PS2 games were $5.99.
  24. I don't know where in the area you are, but if you don't mind a drive, Oxnard's independent thrifts are where I made many of my best finds when I was out there. Modded saturn (+VCD), pachinko machine, Losi RC cars, etc. There are two, right next to eachother on oxnard blvd(?) that seemed to be the best. Thanks for the tip! I haven't checked out the Oxnard thrifts as much, but I'm definitely no stranger to Ventura's Main Street thrift scene. I'm splitting my time between Hollywood area and Redondo Beach at this point in time. Oh, and I found a loose N64 Mario Party 2 at a Goodwill in Culver City near my work for $4.99 yesterday.
