One of the advantages of living in "the greater Los Angeles area"...it's certainly not fun most of the time to drive to all the places, but there's many places to check out. It's also not bad having a girlfriend who lives withing a couple of miles of 2 Salvation Armies, 2 Goodwills (with one more coming) and a few hole in the walls.

Last couple of weeks from various Goodwills: Sealed Super Mario Sunshine-$7.99 $3.99 each. Scoured for the boxes and manuals, to no avail. PS2 Ys The Ark of Napishtim (sealed) & PS1 Command & Conquer Red Alert-$5.99 each.

That's pretty much what was left. There were around 11-12 N64 games behind the counter, so that's most likely the case.

Official Spice GameCube controller, new in package-$9.99 at Goodwill. N64 Mario Party, Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros. and Zelda: Ocarina-$2 each at an Out of the Closet thrift. They also had a fat PS2 w/ hookups for $5 and a NES w/ SMB 1 & 2 and hookups for $10.50, which I found pretty amusing.

Weekend finds: GBC Space Invaders (sealed)-$3.95 GBC Metal Gear Solid-$3.95 GBA Metroid, SMB, LOZ and Link-$5.99 each PS1 Castlevania: SON-$1.29 (Salvation Army had a 40% off sale) 5200 Ballblazer (top flap is sealed but bottom is open)-$2.25 (40% off) Japanese Saturn Grandia (missing manual) Yu-No (the case actually contains discs B and C of Yu-No, disc 1 of Azel: Panzer Dragon RPG and a Golden Axe-The Duel disc.) PS1 Lightspan Timeless Math: Maya, Search and Rescue $6 total.

Flea market finds: PS1 Digimon Rumble Arena-$1 PS2 Street Fighter Alpha Anthology-$5 SNES Super Mario World & Battletoads/Double Dragon-$5 each Beatmania IIDX Remix for 10th Success Anniversary CD-$1 NES Basewars, complete-$1 The Ultimate Halo Companion DVD Set, missing the insert and the Exhibition 2.0 disc-$2

As far as I know, the Vectrex version of Dark Tower had gameplay that made a board unnecessary, though mapping things out yourself probably would be mighty helpful.

At one of the last remaining Wherehouse stores that hasn't become a FYE... Electroplankton is sealed and was $29.99. More than I usually like to pay for a game, but understanding that's still a fair price overall. Puyo Pop Fever was $7.99. Garage sale find today for $1. Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri was included in the box.

Better hurry if you're in the Pasadena/L.A. area.

PlayStation Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. Why is it in this thread? Because the case is very beat up, it's missing the Dino Crisis demo disc, and the RE disc is very scratchy but does work. The game is complete otherwise. $3 for shipping.

This is still available, as well as 3 empty GBA/GBC multicart boxes that will be tossed otherwise. Claim away!

Goodwill finds: GC Metroid Prime (Target version; still has the coupons)-$3.99 GC LOZ: Wind Waker-$5.99 PS1 Mega Man 8-$5.99

Goodwill today: Twisted Metal III, Nightmare Creatures II and Loaded were $2.99. FFVII was $4.99. All complete and in good shape. The pink (and bedazzled) DS Lite and all of the games were $19.99 total. Pretty hot just for the unit and the Mario games alone. Not as hot as the pink, but almost.

There are NTSC(M?) versions...I found this one loose at a swap meet in Los Angeles years ago and it plays fine.

Fine, I'll just go twice in a row then. Today's findings... Today's findings: Sealed 3DS Super Monkey Ball ($3) and DC House of the Dead 2, Soul Calibur & Tokyo Extreme Racer ($1 each) were at a random thrift near my work. GC Mario Party 7 (missing manual, $4.99), Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack ($4.99) and Xbox 360 Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts Demo Disc ($3.99) were at a random thrift near my gf's house. PS1 Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee was $3.99 at a Salvation Army. Sealed PC Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection ($4.99) and American McGee's Alice ($4.99) were at a different Salvation Army, in fact the same one where I found this sealed Alice. This one is opened at the bottom, which I guess explains why it's a dollar more.

Ultimate 8 Ball was $4.99. Brand new Tomb Raider-The Last Revelation was $2.99. Whatever you say, Goodwill.

Was walking around the Alpine Village Swap Meet yesterday when my eyes were caught by a PlayStation console with RCA jacks on the back. Further inspection revealed... It's a model #3500, and forgiving my ignorance, will a US power supply work on it? Also picked up and Hollywood Video Xbox Panzer Dragoon Orta Demo Disc at the swap. A bit beaten but only $1. NHL Open Ice and Vampire Hunter D were $5.99 Goodwill finds from yesterday. UFC was $3.99 at a different Goodwill today. Devil Dice, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Parappa were $2.99 Salvation Army pickups today. The lack of a SPF2T manual was balanced by the presence of the Parappa poster, which looks like it's hardly been touched. The Final Fantasy tribute CD was found at the same Sally; more info on that one here. From an Out of the Closet thrift: GC Super Smash Bros. Melee was $7 and a sealed Wii Samba de Amigo was $5. 3 sealed copies of The Joker's Wild! (Joker, Joker and a Triple!) for the CDi were $2 each.

Day trip on Saturday to Santa Barbara w/ the gf provided some nice pick-ups... Pokemon Red, Yellow and Silver were $5 each at the Santa Barbara High swap meet. All of the batteries still save. Captain Novolin was $2 at the same swap. PS1 Bust A Move 4 was $.95 at a thrift.

Was cleaning out paperwork and found this URL written on the back of an envelope, postdated Dec. 23 '97. Been lurking these halls for quite a while... Also didn't know that atari2600nexus.com now re-directs to AtariGuide. (The Nexus eventually evolved into the Age, for those who don't know.)
