i'm looking at those end labels trying to see if it's possibly a picture label "black jack" but it's very hard to tell. maaaaybe in the middle of the far right column in the center case? and i'm trying to figure out a way to bring rachel to the party...

i found mine for $7.99 at a goodwill. there's no shrinkwrap, and the seal isn't 100% pristine (the piece sticking up has since come off), but apparently this copy was submitted for award consideration way back when by andrew house, who was appointed to chief marketing officer for sony in 2005 after 10 years at the company. and a sealed intelligent qube went for a relative bargain of $213.50 back in october.

oh man...if i remember correctly it was at a thrift store in north hollywood that's long gone by now.

i've found one in over 10 years of game hunting in the los angeles area; a fast food proto that turned out to be a final version. didn't even know it was a proto until CPUWIZ gave me the good news.

i don't know for sure how much of an effect it may have, but i try not to have auctions end in the middle of the day (for a lot of the U.S.) thinking that more people are at work, running around, ect. and not at home.

my most recent colecovision find included pretty much all of the paperwork and overlays, but not a box to be seen. and i think a couple of the children's titles came in plastic clamshell boxes. the only boxed colecovision games i've found in the wild in over 10 years of looking are beamrider, zaxxon (in a CBS plastic clamshell box) and star wars arcade game. (i did find a boxed system w/ styrofoam a long time ago.)

it's not real. this bit has been done on craigslist before and talked about here a few times. who knows what is the motivation behind it.
