went looking through my big box of 2600 carts for the first time in a while to see if i had any of the picture labels that have been discussed recently (fun with numbers, hunt and score, ect.), and while i didn't find any of those carts, i did rediscover these two wonders of late 80s quality control. who's got these? (there's no black tape on the canyon bomber, it's just blank where the "use with...controller" line usually is.)

this is the way you use to steer in pole position on the jakks namco ms. pac-man plug 'n play, so i wouldn't be surprised if it was somehow employed here.

i have to say, i didn't think that the black jack cart would end up upstaging the silver gravitar i found with it...

picked up what would appear to be a standard-looking 2600 joystick for the coleco gemini system today. it has "Gemini" and "vg-170" molded on the joystick base. was this something that was available as an alternate to the gemini's stock combo controller perhaps? or something else entirely?

i've got the '86 "homerun" cart with the "use with joystick controllers" tape covering up the label mistake...

i'm looking for a converter that will allow one to play PAL super famicom games on an us snes. primarily because i have a super fam multicart that i can't get to work on my snes (the tabs have been removed) and i'd like to see if it is in fact PAL and not DOA. lik-sang is sold out of the honey bee super magic converter. would a game genie work for this purpose? thanks in advance for any info and leads.

Beastie Boys Appearances in Video Games didn't know about this... The Elusive Beastie Boys Arcade Game If things had been different in 1992, you could have been guiding Adrock, MCA or Mike D around the screen at your local video arcade. A game was actually made by the Kaneko Company where you and two friends could control each of the Beasties as they travel through different platform style levels. A prototype cabinet was made using the 'Check Your Head' logo on one side and a white picture of the Beastie Boys on the other. The control panel had each of the Beastie's names next to each joystick. A CD player inside the cabinet plays tracks from "Paul's Boutique" and "Check Your Head" and as expected any swearing is beeped out. The different levels consisted of: Dodging eggs being thrown at them for 30 seconds Standing on a giant moving turntable while avoiding "The Turntable King" Get their microphones back Get their instruments back Get back to PJ's for their live performance When all these levels are complete you win the RIAA Award and it all starts again. the hidden level is also in the 5200 (and i think 8-bit) version of the game. the 5200 version also has a secret message (similar to the adventure easter egg) to be found in the hidden level too...

i actually got my copy of fatal run from o'shea, ltd, who had them in stock for a little while. i can't remember how much it was exactly; i think it was more than $.80 but definitely less than $5.00.

luckily, i found this in a game store in london when i was on a family holiday years ago. unluckily, i don't have a tv that has a manual picture adjust. i do like how the title is spelled differently on the manual though...

has anyone seen any significant difference in listing classic items under "games" or "vintage games" on ebay in terms of the attention they get? do the "item specific" details under the "games" listing make much of a difference when searching ebay? thanks for the feedback, and i apologize if i've missed a previous discussion on this...

it is funny how the shrinkwrap mentality works. i put a complete (even w/ styrofoam block) hogan's alley on ebay twice recently for a low starting price, with both auctions ending without a bid. oh well...
