  1. Look to ebay and amazon. I got both off ebay for reasonable prices.
  2. For all those who tout A400 and A800 over 5200, what do you do about track ball games and Space Dungeon? I though so...
  3. No legit Knight Rider game ever released for VCS that I know of. Now, if you are talking Chinese pirates, that might be another story.
  4. Any of the rally games are going to be linear driving, not around tracks. I don't know why OP wouldn't have picked up one of those before Beetle Adventure Racing, considering his stated dislike for track based racers.
  5. Once you get the system, go shopping on UK and France ebay sites for games. Master System was a huge success in Europe and got many more releases that never saw western release. Games are region free, so no worries there.
  6. My comment on upward price trends was not meant to say 'hold onto that retirement nestegg" or anything like it. What I was getting at was buying these games/systems again when he gets the urge to reacquire them will only get more expensive as the years go by. Don't say I didn't warn you.
  7. Don't do it! You will regret it, especially with upward price trends.
  8. Yes, I have heard nothing but bad about this game. Shovelware to fill store shelves.
  9. I thought it was just me, but noticed I was gathering no sinibombs no matter how hard I tried.
  10. I picked up 2600 Dungeon and Pac Man Arcade at a used game shop about a year ago. It was obvious that a collector was forced to liquidate his collection due to financial hardship. Really kind of sad.
  11. Does this one go for 8 hours just like the original version?
  12. Good review, Ashley. You did not mention the special Nights controller that came packaged with the game in the 90's. Any experience with a game called Christmas Nights? I believe it might be a sequel to this one. I appreciate that you are into various systems across multiple gaming generations, much like myself. Keep the good reviews coming.
  13. He said he likes the ones where you are not on a round track. Nothing was said against tracks in general, so games where you traverse an irregular track are in the mix.
  14. Non-TMSS model 1 is my favorite for compatibility, add-ons, and less time to boot games.
  15. No. I tried to whittle on the inside of one of my Wico's to fit in Best Electronics replacement 5200 pots. They did not operate the directionals on any games I tested. All I can guess is they are the wrong ohms rating.
  16. N64 is a good system for racers, especially if you have a steering wheel/pedals controller. Try Beetle Adventure Racing, Ridge Racer 64, F-1 World Grand Prix, Top Gear Rally, California Speed, GT64, and Automobili Lamborghini for some good times. Lots more I am forgetting at the moment too.
  17. I have had them apart and seen the pots and the way they fit in. Haven't seen any direct match at Radio Shack to date.
  18. If you can get Space Dungeon on VCS with dual controller functionality, I will be all for it. It is the best game for 5200 IMO, and would be a fun addition to the VCS.
  19. Yes, but finding the correct ohms pots to fit into the small form factor of the Wico controllers is next to impossible. I looked around once and found some pots for something related to guitars that looked identical to the Wico pots, but they were selling for $30 a piece. Hard to refurb them when it costs $60 per controller. Might as well buy working Wico's off ebay at that rate.
  20. I love the idea of a rarity guide. I hate the idea of a price guide. My feeling is that it serves to keep prices artificially high if nothing else. Many speculators will use this for nefarious purposes I am sure.
  21. Look at the location on that listing. Folsom prison blues.
  22. Mine began Christmas of 1981 when I got my Sears 4 switcher. I think the pack in game was Target Fun. Quickly started buying about a game a month. DK, Kaboom!, Lock 'n Chase, Seaquest and Frostbite were some of the first ones to come along. This many years later, my mom never sold it at a yard sale, though I stupidly sold some of my early games to a coworker of my mom's. Thankfully, I bought them back many years later.
  23. Wico controllers are the not the magic answer everybody touts them as. I have two and the pots are shot in both. Realize they are 30 years old and the pots go just as easily as the stock Atari controllers.
  24. I would keep that game squarely in my collection. If I sold it I would regret it later on for sure.
