  1. Hi, apologies if I missed this info but what it the estimated cost? That is only way I can determine if I'm able to commit to this.
  2. IMHO Wonder007 is an asset to the Atari retro community. He is not a hoarder. My Guess is after he recoups through sales whatever part of his investment he is looking for that he will release a .bin to he community. My only fear is he waits too long and this hits the licensing radar.... Of course anyone who purchases a cart can dump and release the rom for near infintely less than wonder007 paid for the proto. Sp atari2600land you can purchase and be "altruistic" yourself if you are so inclined
  3. Shirt is indeed cool. Fabrics also don't survive the ravages of time very well which makes it even more special. Adrienne Roy passed away only a couple months ago and at a somewhat young age. Very sad, I truly feel for her family. You can pick-up reading copy's of the entire run for under $25. Or if you are not opposed to digital copies you can have those today for "free" with only a little searching. Try +"Atari Force" cbr or "+Atari Force" cbz in a search engine.
  4. Really nice. Thanks John! Is there anyway I can launch executable to specify the ROM dir location? As of now I do via modifying my shortcut's 'start in' in location but it does create the z26.gui file in my ROM directory that I like to keep clean of all but ROMS - I know a minor thing at best. Thanks agian. You're right. This bothers me. It would be nice. Problem is, there are other things that bother me more. Like how come the terminal crashes in Crunchbang linux and I have to install the Sakura terminal to get z26 reliable on Crunchbang. Stuff like that. John I won't bother to mention that having the mouse enabled on the initial/main menu would be killer
  5. I have most of the giveaway comics. BUT the best was the regular comic book series with 'Dart', loved it as a kid. I own a original one-of-a-kind cover art to an issue that was a favorite from "back in the day". Here is link to a pic from an ancient [Has it real been 7.5 years since i posted it - wow] AtariAge thread: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=16101

  7. Last one on eBay sold for $255 on Dec 31 eBay Auction -- Item Number: 160524393656 Wow! Glad I picked up mine when they were $25 - in recent weeks they seem to have settled under the $150 mark, some as low as $96. Due to more being auctioned as people try to cash in. Of course the more that are listed the lower the price will drop. My guess is they will bottom out around $60-$70 then head back up as sellers stop listing. But I think the days of $250 and up are done.
  8. Will there be any differences in the cart/boxes/art/etc between the ones sold CGE and the ones to be sold in the AtariAge Store? Also is there an estimate on cost? Thanks, JL
  9. Nice. seems to only be missing the Rob0tron Proto dumped late in 2008. I've attached to this post. robotron-proto.zip
  10. I wholeheartedly say "ME TOO" for this. Paddle support in Stella and other emulators using the mouse is basically crap, and I say this as the Stella maintainer. Controller-wise, a real paddle is the only thing missing from making emulation very authentic. Joysticks were never a problem, even moreso now that you've released a USB joystick kit. Paddles are the last remaining obstacle for 2600 emulation. Although it would also be nice for keypad and driving controllers, that will probably never happen ... Uhm, the USB Stelladapter already supports paddles and driving controllers. It works great! I've been using it for years now with Stella. Purchased several of them right through atariage
  11. I voted for Intellivision, specifically the original version. If I could have voted for two would also have chose Colecovision. It is absurd that anyone would vote for NES when Retrozone has them for under $20. I mean why vote for something that already exists and is cheap instead of where the need is?
  12. For a second or 2 I thought this read Ms. Pac-Man RIP. With all the celeb passing's lately I got scared. Glad to see she is still with us
  13. I am not convinced that HDMI is better picture quality-wise (1080i and below) than either 3 or 5 channel component. In fact their are many tests that show it's a bit worse. Audio-wise the HDMI spec is no better than optical or digital audio cable connections. Yes, you get the convenience of audio and video in 1 cable, which is a huge selling point to the masses, but the true purpose of the technology is mainly digital copyright (audio and video) protection crapola....
  14. great. my apologies for the misinterpretation.
  15. Hi, I was one of those who prefers the ini in the stella root and in after past releaes requested it. Any chance this can be made configurable? Say use "%USER%\AppData\Local\Stella" by default for those few who want it there (although I don't understand why), then the rest of us can manually set it to the directory we want ie: the stella root or wherever based on where we launch it, etc.... as I said earlier in this thread great release. Thanks again! JL
  16. Stephana, Many Thanks especially for the Arcadia/Starpath fix. I can't wait to test it out
  17. hi stephena, thanks again for all the great work. Question: The Starpath Supercharger game Dragonstomper , when played using Stella the objects always perform the same exact function; ex- the staff "heals"/increases strength. Is it possible to have the objects perform different "random" function's every time the game is played like on a real console? I thought it might be my dumps but when I try them using z26 the cross becomes the object that "heals"/increases strength. So not random on z26 either, but the result is different so I do not think it is related to the dumps/bins . Personally I prefer the cross doing the healing as it makes the game more fun (or rather a bit easier). Thanks, JL
  18. My only negative, that was removed 2 years ago after eBay investigated the dispute, was from a seller in Atlanta, Georgia. I don't see how location means anything and there really is no place for that kind of stuff in this great forum.
  19. stephena, Many thanks for adding the basedir.txt functionality as well as for this updated release. Great work as always! JL
  20. Really Nice! It does look a tad like DK. Hope I'll to get to play this one day as it looks like a really nice platformer.
  21. Right you are. I was referring to the other directories but as you pointing out that is configurable. Cheers, JL
  22. Unfortunately, due to Stella losing settings, and weird directories popping up everywhere, I had to disable that feature. Your settings file is now always stored in 'My Documents\Stella\stella.ini'. Currently, and probably indefinitely, this won't be configurable. However, you can change all other paths in the 'Config Files' UI. Currently, the state directory, snapshot directory, ROM directory, palette file, cheat file and properties file can be anywhere you like. Only the settings file and SaveKey/AtariVox EEPROM file locations can't be changed, and I can fix the latter. Hopefully, it's not too much of an issue to have your settings file location be non-configurable. Not a problem having where it is, I just like having my apps in one place so they are modular, like they would be in a unix environment. Thanks again.
  23. Gui Looks great. Many thanks for all your efforts. "For the Win32 port: default folder for Stella config files is now 'My Documents\Stella'; this can be disabled if necessary. This should fix issues with losing settings when launching Stella from an IDE, and the creation of stella.ini and 'state' directories in many different places." How can I change this? I want to keep configs in my stella root.
  24. I can't wait until breaking the law becomes illegal for people again. People steal music when it can be had for 99 cents easily, and steal games when they can be had for $5. That's the lamest kind of crime: theft by people who could afford to purchase. I play around with emulation from time to time, but it always feels like theft so I have to stop. emulating hardware with software in the USA is not illegal, since it is not reverse engineering. If you already own the cassette you can rip it yourself using a cassette player and convert from wav using various software. I did it for many of my old TI games. now how about stepping down from your holier than thou soapbox.......
  25. Yes great site. The recently discovered Wing wars looks cool as well. http://www.videogamehouse.net/gamemain/cartsuz/wingwar/
