  1. I would have "killed" for this one back in the day. It would have been life changing. Then again maybe not? Many Thanks!!!! to you and Mr Parod for sharing this with the world. You are both a credit to all mankind, unlike the evil ones who won't share 2600 turbo, charlie brown, and pink panther with the world. P.S. Playing it now, a very nice port. Really wish it would have been released back in '83. Stupid 1983 Video Game crash.
  2. I don't think he'll be able to sell 10K of them. Rick Nope me either
  3. Received my order earlier this week and I am very impressed these work and look great. Here's hoping we will see some in Phaser Patrol & Indy 500 size.
  4. It took less time for the space program in the 1960's to get a man to the moon. Sad to think but I wonder how many fellow AtariAge members have passed never having had the opportunity to try this game. Hopefully not many more will before it is released. JL
  5. Yep, I loved it back in the day as well. One of my favorites. It wasn't until I watched the DVD's a year or 2 ago that I realized how cheesy it was. Boy, Faye Grant was hottie!
  6. Heard Billy Kirkland's "Video-Game Maniac" (1982) today for the first time 25+ years, also The Effects "Video Game" (1981). Forgot about both of these, actually I barely remember them at all . Probably heard them only once or twice back in the day Although neither has aged well, "Video-Game Maniac" is interesting. The guy sort of sings the word maniac like Billy Joel sings heart attack and caddillac in Movin' Out. To the best of my knowledge the only way these songs exist is on 45's. Would be great if these and other songs like it from back in the day, like Pac-Man Fever (the original version) and Player One's Space Invaders , were available on a 80's Video Game Music type CD collection
  7. Having the owner go through the effort of having the game finished is nonsense now? Just curious but did the owner ever formally announce this? Allan Yes has this ever been announced? In the Turbo thread , the only post I saw which referenced the game being finished was someone who merely speculated that was the delay.
  8. VonGuard, Many Thanks. You Rock! Goes to show it doesn't take 2 years of "nonsense" to get a piece of 2600 history dumped, like in the case Turbo and Good Luck Charlie Brown . A real tragedy on those, my guess is most of us will have long since departed the mortal plane when they are finally (if ever) released.
  9. This should now be fixed. The new file is named stella-2.5.1_1-win32.zip. Note that the Sourceforge mirrors might not be updated right away. Download is good. Many Thanks for Re-added 'lastrom' functionality, where Stella will remember and auto-select the last ROM that was successfully launched in the ROM launcher JL
  10. Hi, stella-2.5.1-win32.zip - file is incomplete, looks like all of it did not make it to soundforge: stella-2.5.1-win32.exe Mirror 1397296 0 i386 .exe (32-bit Windows) stella-2.5.1-win32.zip Mirror 730040 0 i386 .zip
  11. So basically, if you only ever launch ROMs from a single directory, and this is the directory that appears when you start Stella, this feature will be useful to you. Gotcha. It is what I do so it'll be very useful. Many thanks!
  12. stephena, many thanks. a lot of nice changes snapshots work good for me - ssdir = snapshots\ Going forward is there a way to have Stella remember the last game "played" , maybe in the ini like mame does? many thanks again for all your efforts!! JL
  13. Not sure if this helps, but I have a 2600 extension cable thats works properly (button and keypads) with my Colecovision controller.
  14. Tempest on MAME is not bad using the Indy 500 controller. Although I no longer us it for that, as I now have a real arcade spinner with a tempest knob mounted in my arcade panel How do you set that up? It's been a few years and I don't exactly remember, but I'll try to do it again this week and see if I can refresh those brain cells. Although now I have reason to think it may have been a "hacked" version of Mame that I had on an old PC or 2 ago? JL
  15. Well it will soon be closing in on 2 years since this was first announced that this was discovered and might be dumped I have a feeling most of us will be on Social Security or in the ground when this (and turbo) is released. I'm thinking it might have been better for our hearts (at least mine) if we had never known about it ? JL

  17. A somewhat decent game. It can be played using MAME/MAME32.
  18. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs arcade game. Was probably ported to some home consoles as well.
  19. http://www.amazon.com/Like-Omigod-Culture-...TF8&s=music contains the original Pac-Man fever. It can probably be found for a decent amount less at on-line auction. JL
  20. Working great. Many Thanks for your time and efforts.

    PCAEWin 2.7

Many Thanks John! Once again , Thanks John. Unfortunately, it crashes on me immediately after double-clicking on PCAEWIN.EXE AppName: pcaewin.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: pcaewin.exe ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00025d5b JL What OS are you running/what is your system configuration? I'll take a look at it to see if I can learn anything. I've started the process of redesigning how instances of PCAEWin will talk to each other, starting with the sockets layer. I think I have something that's pretty robust and generic, though I'll of course have to test it. Still, step one of the redesign is pretty much done. I'll be working my way up the protocol stack one step at a time... I get a similar-but-different error: AppName: pcaewin.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: kernel32.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119 Offset: 00012a5b I edited the PCAEWIN.INI file before starting PCAEWIN.EXE, and set the various directory paths to the ones I'm using. Does it have to be in C:\emu\2600? Because I'm using C:\Atari\2600 as the main one (and using various subdirectories off of it, keeping their names the same as what was already in the PCAEWIN.INI file). PCAEWIN itself is in C:\Atari\2600\Emus\PCAE\2.7b (since I already had an older directory named 2.7). What about DirectX, do I really need to use DirectX 5, or can I use 9.0c? Should I copy the various .dll files anywhere, or just leave them in PCAE's directory? I'm on Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 2. Michael IIRC, PCAEWin 2.7 will crash on Windows machines using Hyperthreading. I set the bios of a hyperthreaded Intel chip which was crashing PCAEWin to non-hyperthreaded (sorry if I'm using all the wrong terms) and PCAEWin worked properly. I cannot find the original post where this was discussed, but taking a shot in the dark, does this have anything to do with the way the PCAE 2.7 binary was compiled? Cheers, Tony I tried it out and I found that I was crashing as well, and I'm running Win2k. I tracked it down to my MMX-detection logic, and I've got it working right now. I'll keep chugging on it tomorrow and see how long it takes to do away with Kaillera before I release anything, as I suspect that it won't take long. Mine is a hyper-threaded as well. Pentium IV 3.4Ghz HT Extreme Edition. Running XPsp2
